I guess Emma in her fake memories was more honest with Henry. She told him her version of who neal was She also seemed to be a good mom which she always is but it was enhanced. I do believe Regina raised Henry as best as could and I enjoy their relationship but Emma would have been better

The same she had in s1.Regina didnt alter her Neal memories. She remembered the good memories but she also thought hr betrayed her like she did before

She said Neal let her take the fall for his watch crime which what she believed

It wasen't but I sort of understand why she did. She was new to being a mom she and maybe wanted Henry's to think one of his parents to be a hero since at the time he was unhappy with Regina and she didnt think of herself a savior. She never thought she'd she Neal again. I am not saying it was right but I understand her mind frame at the time

I don't think she wanted Henry to think of one of his parents as a hero. I think she thought it was better for him to believe that his dad was a good man than for him to know his dad left. And saying Neal was dead, was to make sure Henry wouldn't try to find him.

I don't blame Emma. She did what she thought was best for Henry, but sooner or later the truth always comes out and Henry had heard way too many lies in his life to react well to another, big lie from Emma.

If Neal hadn't stopped her in Manhattan, Henry would have still believed that lie.

Plus Emma didnt believe in the curse at the time so she didnt really know the extent of Henry getting lies. Emma might have told Henry when he was older

I'm not sure about that either. I understand why she lied to Henry, but it still was a mistake.
