Rumple is letting darkness completely take over him. I hope Belle senses something off soon.
I want more info as to why he's doing this.
We know from what Kalinda and ADam have told us , but I need to see it on screen.

I want to understand why his resurrection , Zelena's control etc have had such an effect on him that he can't even cope now.

It's heart breaking that he , even when others point out that he has be better, thinks he's fated to be dark and evil.

I think the problem is his resurrection cost the life of his son. What parent would not be devastated to learn that they are alive at the cost of their child's life. Also, we don't know he was in darkness in the vault. Yes that is where he came "back to life" but due to his great sacrifice, he may have been somewhere where he was content and no longer afraid. To be ripped from that and thrust back into a world that (in his eyes) didn't want him and to immediately hold your dying child in your arms and unable to save him, must have been nothing short of agony. I wish they would at least write a scene where he sits down and talks to Belle about some of these things. But if it hasn't been addressed by now, I doubt that it will be any time soon.

Yes, questions we need answered:

1) Do the souls of all Dark Ones go into the The Vault of the Dark One?

2) Do the souls go to a more traditional afterlife but they can still be pulled back through the vault?

3) Were there unusual reasons Rumple could be brought back? If his curse had passed onto someone else, would they still have been able to get him?

4) Does Rumple remember what it was like?

5) Did we get all of Rumple? Is his soul or some part of it missing? Or did anything else come back with him?

I am happy for a week off too! Rhowen's TV isn't the only one in danger!

I want to be upbeat and hopeful but the hate is getting me down. I am so sick of the hate Rumple gets and the calls for a break up. The writers better fix this. I may have to go on twitter and yell at them if they don't.

All this negativity is bringing out a resentful side of me and if they turn this around, it is going to take all my self-control not to go around with a big I told you so to everyone!

Yep. I'm not a parent myself, but that's too devastating to even think about..

To be honest, I actually wondered after Rumple's speech at Neal's grave how he hadn't given up trying to be a better man, as all his attempts to do the right thing seem to backfire. Even his big sacrifice.. I mean, if I had gone through all that s

he's gone through, I think I might consider giving up too..

Still, the fact that Rumple made such big promises to his dead son only to break them only hours later is really mind-boggling. Especially because "Rumplestiltskin never breaks a deal/is a man of his word/always keeps his promises".

The explanation for these shenanigans better not turn out to be "Rumple is just being Rumple". Because I'm never going to buy that!

I spent the day n Boston and just got back. IT was sooo relaxing.

Grace the hate was/is getting to me too. But it's a cycle with a show like this. Look at it like this Hook got his fair share of hate for harming and attempting to kill Belle. Regina got her fair share of hate when she tried to kil Emma and her parents and massacred a whole village. And fans on both sides fought. over completely silly things. and it was nasty the excuses and victim blaming you'd see, but some of the hate was out of control too.

The point I"m trying to make, and it's my fault too. Is to not let Twitter, Tumblr, other threads get to you. They are expressing a pov through the eyes of their fav character only. ANd their interpretation of Rumple. What you read and see from others is a viewpoint only not fact. It's anger , and anger is never rational.
So take the lead of the others on this board that dont read the hate, ot take the criticism to heart. Because if we bring the anger and hate here it'll just get worse.

Keep your chin up and be better than that.

Now as for Rumple. He's a character that just can't be ignored even if you wanted too. He's too complex and too tragic to not feel sympathy for, but he's also too easily falls into the same bad choices where he's just a stones throw of getting his own fandom running at him with pitchforks and torches.
He's done an awful thing. To Emma worse than to Hook. Since Emma sees him as someone who's a bit of a hero for sacrificing himself for the town, someone who is changing. He and Hook have always had a problem with each other. Both have done wrongs to each other, and both are eventually going to have to learn to accept each other or kill each other .

Rumple has turned a very dark corner, so it's natural that people are seeing only the surface layer of his actions. Soon enough we will get the layered problems that are surfacing through these actions and we'll understand and sympathize with our man again.

You know, I was thinking about it, and the writers have said positive things about Rumbelle even if they (Rumple especially) are in a dark place right now. When the show first started, Rumple was intriguing, but I figured him for evil (or I did after he told Regina about the Charmings coming to him about the curse and for info on how to protect their baby. I thought he gave a bit too much info to be neutral [and he wasn't, I just didn't realize he had his own side]). Then, somewhere between Desperate Souls and Skin Deep, that all transformed.

In the second season, there were all the questions about whether or not he would kill Henry. Yet, by the third season, Rumple fans were blowing a gasket when everyone including his own son automatically believed he would kill Henry.

S3b was easier on us in this respect--up until the dagger. The upside of being enslaved and forced to act against your will is that viewers don't blame you. And we still got a wedding, so it wasn't all bad.

So, now we're in limbo again. But, you know what? Rumple's wrong. He's not a man who always makes bad choices. He messes up a lot but he also comes through at pretty incredible odds.

OK, maybe I've just hit that moment of apogee when gravity temporarily ceases to exist along with all other sense of direction. The rollercoaster has been too much for me.

But, crazy as it all is, impossible as it all seems, I'm going to trust Rumple to come through again.

Rhowen, I am going to be the bigger person and not say I told you so to anybody when hopefully things change.

I have been sticking to more neutral places like here and the appreciation threads. My dashboard on tumblr is not getting hate because I am careful who I follow but some posters are being sneaky and putting stuff on there and I haven't figured out how to block things yet!

I guess it's our turn to get hate until someone else steps up into the role but it is hard to have faith when we have no idea where the writers are going with this. They seem to be positive about Rumbelle though so I am going with that.
