That's true, but he was desperate to find his son and wanted to believe August was Bae. I'm not saying I'm sure he would have recognized Neal, but it's about more than just looks. There's also the way a person talks and walks. Then again Neal had more time than most people to change all those things.

I think Gold would have primed himself not to believe hints that might pile up this time around. Also, Bae has adapted to not one but three different cultures since Gold last saw him (Victorian London, Lord-of-the-Flies-ville/Neverland, and our world and era) that could impact body language and so on.

In short, if the story requires Gold not to recognize Bae, there's plenty of excuses to be used.

To get back to the idea of Neal and Henry meeting in SB. I wonder how long it would have taken them to figure out the truth if Emma hadn't told them?

A few weeks, maybe? Who do you think would have figured it out first?

Good question. Henry thought his father was dead and Neal had no idea he even had a son, but I think Neal would have figured it out as soon as he found out that Emma is Henrys mother. He would have started to question when and why she gave him up for adoption. What do you think?

All that Henry would know about Neal is that he's an old friend or acquaintance of Emma. That's not enough to make him belive Neal could be his Dad.

Exactly. Of course it's possible that he would overhear a conversation between Emma and Neal or Emma and Snow or even Regina amd someone.
