There just wasn't enough time for all of the regulars and the guest stars. I still don't understand why Ariel was introduced during the Neverland SL.

Well Ariel was used because she could travel through worlds and helped to get a message to Belle and gave back to save Wendy and Pandora's box

Yeah, but they could have done something else. It just seemed like they made the plot fit so Ariel could be used.

That's not necessarily bad, but there should be time for character development for all the main characters.

I've always thought Ariel was introduced because she could swim through realms/worlds. This made her the perfect messenger.

Mermaids were part of the Peter Pan story by JM Barrie. Chapter 8 "The Mermaids' Lagoon" it was the perfect place to introduce them to the audience - where their story originated. Their ability to swim between realms gave them a plot purpose in the OUAT story.

Otherwise how would you introduce them into StoryBrooke and the Enchanted forest? It seemed like a logical placement and accurate to the tale.
