Know that feeling - get some extra blankets and curl up, maybe? My cat is currently snoozing on my bed so he's going to help keep me good and warm tonight. Probably too warm, spring has definitely arrived here.

Yeah, explaining the premise of certain shows can be quite tricky. I think Doctor Who, OUAT and Fringe all suffer a bit from "oh, just watch it" syndrome when it comes to explaining them. That would be evil! I don't really bother waiting for things on NZ TV these days as they either air the same day as the States (unfortunately nothing I watch) or 6 months later. They are slowly getting the idea that, particularly with shows like Game of Thrones (airs the same day as the States), people WILL watch them on real TV as opposed to downloading.

Haven is the same. I tried to explain that to someone once and they looked at me like I'd lost my mind. "It totally makes sense when you're watching it!" isn't usually the best defence. My friend who recently got into OUAT keeps sending me messages trying to work out the Charming/Rumplestiltskin family tree. "Does Neal know who he is?" "He knows he's Rumple's son, he doesn't know he's Henry's father" "Oh bloody hell". I think the best summary I've ever given for a show was when I was explaining Pushing Daisies to someone. "It's about a guy called Ned. He bakes pies and wakes the dead and brought his dead childhood sweetheart back to life. It's sweet, and funny, and makes you crave pie."

Squirrels! I wish we had squirrels! I have four cats (and two dogs and 15 hens and two horses and two Highland cows and a very very spoilt pet mouse named Sybil), although they're all older now. My oldest cat (she's 14, rising 15) used to bring home rabbits when she was younger, while Felix (who is truly enormous and also evil) loves to bring live mice and birds in then release them for maximum chaos. The worst I've ever been presented with was a half-dead stoat.
