 . Maybe later on, they're Lost writers, they did that with some Lost characters, they were background first then got a lot of development  .__________________

status can definitely change. The fact that she was incorporated from the beginning tells me they want Ruby and her story for something more than just standing around as a background character to look at. __________________

Her recurring status does seem important to some extent. Why include her like this if they aren't going to eventually give us something more? And I'm not talking about taking things from the mains but having her storyline of course intertwine with the mains. They specifically chose RRH to be one of the main recurring guest (so it seems so far) so hopefully it does lead somewhere.
And who knows. Eventually they could make her main. |

Yeah nobody can't get Granny's insults out of their heads, but what if she got a little stricter? Like force Ruby to go out and do some baking amends? Just so that she can get into that bed, the Sheriff/Possible Big Bad wolf knocks her out, and slips in instead? Ruby: (comes back with an apple basket that she helped Emma out with in Regina's tree abolishing) My grandma, what big feet you have!
