After watching the sneak peeks, I really have the feeling the "Bae-path" is a mislead - like others have said, Gold thinking along these lines, only to find out that August isn't Bae towards the end of the ep.
And for the Pinocchio theory: If he is Pinocchio, the sneak peek with the phone call ("speeding up the plan") would fit into that corner too. Pinocchio's origin is wood - no matter if he was a real boy at some point - so when the curse happened, he was left with a human form and was also able to leave SB (maybe he even "travelled" through the wardrobe and was "dropped" just before the border to SB). Also-since his origin is the wooden one- he also has his memories, cause wood actually doesn't have any ones, thus not affected by the curse). Now that Emma has come into town and different things have already happened (Graham remembered, Cinderella found her happy ending, Jefferson disappeared through the hat..), the curse weakens more and more. That's why August has mayor leg problems, cause the more the curse is loosing power, the more his "wooden origin" wants to come out. I can see him turning back into wood once FL world is back into place (with maybe Gepetto already having a way to turn him back into human form in FL). Just a thought __________________

I agree. The Baelfire references were probably all red herrings. DAMN IT!!!  However, I still feel that August is connected to someone outside of the Pinocchio story. |

Wow. I can't believe it's almost here. I know we're supposed to learn August's true identity in next week's episode, but I can't help but think that we're going to come close to a revelation tonight.

I just hope nothing bad happens between Mr. Gold and August. Mr. gold and August are two of my favorite characters, and having either one of them dying would kill me.
