(On Rumplestiltskin's voice)“There’s no way I could speak in my normal voice while looking so extraordinary and while having this bizarre stuff to say,” the actor reasoned. “I tried many different types of voices and the thing that I landed on was completely by chance, really, thanks to my son. He was wandering though the house making these high-pitched voices and sounds I thought, ‘Rumpelstiltskin has a child-like quality to him, he kind of enjoys gleefully tricking people.’”

There's something about these performances in the past few years. In a slight sense it’s about age but without a doubt it has also given me what I used to call weight. I remember when I was in Scotland and I first started acting with these older actors and they had weight. They didn’t have to act. It was just there. I think I’m finally on that path to gravitas.“

The fact that you’re working harder on the surface seems more difficult, but you get into a way of working where if you’re not allowed to stop and breathe and think about it, you just go on instinctively, which is the way I prefer anyway. Rumple made me really sad this episode, I have to say. It does make a certain sense for the character as he did something similar in 2x01, but it still feels like a step back for him.

Oh Rumple...

After all he's been through, losing his son, being a prisoner to Zelana...I had a feeling that as soon as Regina gave Zelana a 2nd chance, he would do something....and he certainly did..

He wasn't going to let her get away with it...he was going to get his vengeance , but knowing what he's done he has no acted the new curse

I can understand why he did it...totally...I wanted vengeance too, but when he's going to get found out...that's when it will really hurt I think...still can't wait to see it played out..

Sure thing, I don't normally start threads here. But hte next time I do I will be sure to do that.

As for what Rumple did, I am quite happy he killed that witch! Zelena needed to die for what she did to everyone in town..... It was the only end course for Zelena.

I think it's a Jekyll/Hyde twist. he acted too much like his dad in the jail cell. Gloating, etc..
