To be fair, I can understand people who don't live in our fine print dominated world not always reading through the details on the deal. They live in a world still dominated by the verbal agreement and handshake form of contract.

Which reminds me, going to toss in a little plug for my fanfic

Dead Reckonings Chapter 1: End of the Road, an once upon a time fanfic - FanFiction.Net

Actually, Rumple, so far in this story, has been on the short end of the deal. The story opens with him saving a guy he finds he doesn't really want to save (the man reminds him a bit too much of himself pre-curse).

This story is actually my response to being really miffed when I read the summary of the movie 28 Weeks Later. Robert Carlyle plays a character who, in a moment of life or death panic, deserts the wife he loves (he had zombies close enough to touch when he ran). After dealing with survivng that for months - but also having to hold it together to help his children (whether he wants to fall apart or punish himself for what he's done or not, he can't - he has to surivive to help his children) - he discovers his wife survived.

Then, the writers apparently throw this promising story out the window by turning Carlyle into a zombie and having him kill his wife just after the tearful reunion, not to mention trying to do in his own kids.

Honestly, who takes a promising story and just torpedoes it like that?

I felt such monumental disappointment when 28 Weeks Later went that route. I almost think the writers meant to go in another direction but the powers that be wanted just an excuse for a lot of bloodshed and zombies. It was a huge waste of RC's talent.
