I love how they were so competitive and Coach was mocking Winnie at first but then he had an emotional breakthrough with Winston at th end. I really loved that.

I agree, I think they did a really good job with them. They really seem like they have been friends since college.

And they are right? And they played basketball together but Winston got professional and went to Latvia. wish we did get a flashback to them too. I feel like I can't make the timeline correct

I get the sense that Winnie and Nick are childhood friends, Nick and Schmidt as well as Coach and Winston met in collage. Then roomed together after college at some point. You know, before Winston moved. At least that's my head cannon.
