Yeah, there was a bit of sadness too. They loved each other so much that it was killing them not being with each other. I feel like we always got looks like that in the end S2 as well.

Yeah, that is the way I see it. After Wade kissed Zoe and then denying him the next morning, he probably thought that he had to do whatever he could to not feel that love anymore because being around her all the time wasn't helping him any. Which is probably why he so quickly jumped into a new relationship and spent as little time as he could with her.
