Everyone in town was at the wedding. Doubt the dress, which wasn't that bad actually, was the reason Lemon wasn't in the wedding party.

Lemon wasn't in the wedding party because they needed a reason to carry out the hiccup storyline. It only worked if Zoe was one of the bridesmaids. And Lemon was also busy because her business had just caught on fire. But mostly I think it was just a contrived way to carry out the plot and not meant to make much sense. I don't think it meant anything about Lemon and Crickett's friendship. After all Lemon was even supposed to be in Elodie's wedding from what she told AB in 312.
