I'm not defending Brick's behavior, but I don't think he was just awful to Zoe because he was mean - I think that practice was his whole life, what he did was very important to him & he was very proud of the service he provided for the town he loved. Then suddenly, this girl came out of no where who was entitled to half of the practice he had spent his life building, & she looked down on & was very condescending towards something that meant a lot to him. He was an ass, but I can understand why he'd be unhappy with someone coming in on his territory - especially as it was initially just a means to an end for her & she seemed to resent every day that she was there.

While I agree with this the only part I don't is that he was mean to her before he actually ever talked to her.

I agree with that as well. She came in without really having earned anything and wasn't planning to stick around. So that is a fair point as well. I think over time they both got to see the bigger picture.

i agree that he should have at least talked to her first and given her a chance at all but at the same time i can kinda understand why he behaved the way he did.
