The Veterans of Film Part Two

A long time ago, there was once a film called The Hook-Up. It starred ten amateur actors and was, unexpectedly one of the biggest box office hits of all time. Those ten became very good friends, and they were inseparable. Most took part in the others’ weddings and a few of them actually married each other. But time, as it always does, slowly pulled those actors apart as they went on to do other films, raise families, and things of the like.

But now, thirty years later, most of the now-retired actors have been pulled out of their retirement to star in a film about the troubles of aging entitled When We Were Young. The only problem is that the whole production team (the director, the writer, the producer, and even some of the supporting cast) is made up of amateur individuals.

Our story continues on the night of the first day of filming. Friendships have been made and crushes have been acquainted. Relationships are on the rocks and they're new ones to be made. What will everything lead to... ? No one knows.

The Rules
+ No Boy/Girl rule is in effect, but even characters would be nice.

When she was 21 she moved to New York to study acting. She's been engaged once tree years ago, but then he cheated on her. Since then she has just had short relationships. Her family lives still in England, so she hardly sees them. She has diabetes, but about no one knows it.

Why They Want to be Part of the Biz He didn't really try to get into this production, it just kinda happened. In his free time, Tay had been working on a movie script about the troubles of aging. A good friend of his had some connections with Hollywood and hooked him up. They loved his script and set a director and producer to the job.
Brief History He grew up in NYC. His father was a big shot lawyer, and his mother was a stay-at-home housewife. When his father was caught cheating with his secretary. Tay and his mother moved to Los Angeles, where she became a drunk and Tay has spent most of his life taking care of and supporting her.

What They’re Famous For/Awards They’ve Won Famous for the memorable role of Richard "Ricky" Valliance in the movie, The Hook-Up. He has be nominated for 7 Golden Globes and won two. He was nominated for two Academy Awards and won one (Best Actor, The Hook-Up).
Brief History After his debut film Harvey was the IT-man. Young men everywhere looked up to him. After a number of failed relationships, he ended up marrying his supporting actress from The Hook-Up. They've been married for twenty-five years and have four children. They've always had fairy-tale marriage, but within the last year, the fairy dust has slowly started to fade away, as Harvey feels that he's not important any more.

Brief History After playing Margaret in The Hook Up, movie offers kept pouring in. Some of them were really big films which received critical acclaim, some not as much. Her greatest achievement was meeting Harvey Wingfield on the set of The Hook Up and getting married after a whirlwind courtship. Together, they have four children, but lately, things have been awkward between them. She's not sure if she wants to fix it, but she wants to at least try.

He was a big movie producer and had been producing films for about 14 years until his death six years ago. He never really got over it, but in his memory, he thought he would continue his legacy and help make films.
Brief History James grew up in Boston, Mass, and was valedictorian of his high school class. He went on to Harvard to major in Business. He had his whole life mapped out. He was gonna one day be a big business mogul and have a great family. Although, while he is on the market for a potential girlfriend, he's had his fair share of ups and downs when it comes to the fairer sex. He even dated a girl all throughout college, but she broke up with him after graduation. After his father's death, things had changed. Instead of being a man who fought not to follow in his father's footsteps, it takes a dramatic loss to realise that was what you wanted all along.

The show was cancelled two years ago and he hasn't had a major gig ever since. He has been divorced twice with two college-age daughters from his first wife. He is engaged to a bleach blonde who is more impressed with his acting resume than she is with him. He never found someone that made him feel quite like Nancy did, but she was taken by someone much better than him a better actor and a better man, Harvey. He is nervous to see her again, hoping his jealousy does not fuel inside him like it used to when he saw her with Harvey.

Dani is happy to volunteer as she knows this will look great on her resume. And she’s also looking forward to meeting her father’s co-stars of The Hook-Up, a movie she’s loved since she was very little.
Brief History Born to Robert Ritter, the famous actor from The Hook Up, and Camille Olund. She had a very uneventful childhood, growing up in the suburbs of California. She has found memories of skipping school and coming to the set of her father’s medical drama. Those were usually the only times she really got to see him, hence why she is glad that she’ll be able to spend more time with him now.

What They’re Famous For/Awards They’ve Won Famous for the role of Oregon Kellman in the ground-breaking film The Hook Up. He was the rebel child in the film which later won him great films roles as a villian. He hasn’t won any awards to the dismay of his fans, but he’s always hoping.
Brief History His personality accounts for the reason why he never married. But that doesn’t mean that he doesn’t have his eye on certain ladies. He’s had a life-long companion for quite some years now, but she’s just not all he wants in a woman. Of course, all of the guys during the production of The Hook Up were all gaga over Nancy but he thinks he over her now. At least, that’s what he keeps telling himself. He knows that Robert is still in love with her and he’s okay with that. He and Robert came to be good friends over a common hate of Harvey.

Brief History She grew up in a very small town and had quite a normal childhood. She made lots of friends and was popular, but not in a bad way. When she was eighteen, she headed off to the city to go to a school the specialized in the performing arts. She majored in directing, and that's how she's here today.

She is currently a Theater/Drama major at NYU and has just completed an acting internship in England which she loved. But, before going back to NYU, she wanted to see what it was like filming a real film so what a way to know the acting business than to actually be on the set.
Brief History: She's the youngest child of Harvey and Nancy Wingfield and she often felt like she was a baby because her parents and older siblings were always so overprotective of her. She liked the attention they gave her, but sometimes it got too much and she always contemplated running away for at least a day to get away from it all, but she never did. She has always loved The Hook Up, but she loved it even more when she found out her parents were in it. That movie made them both stars, but to her, they were always stars. She was planning to surprise her parents by coming onto the set of the movie they are filming with their old The Hook-Up costars and maybe making some new friends along the way.

Brief History He had a typical childhood. Well, typical for a kid who grew up in the business. He had a lot of friends, most whose parents were aquantances of his parents. At 18, he went away to college majoring in business which really paid off. His first job was at a company called Johnson's & Johnson's. After working there for a few months, he was sent to be head of the division in France. But he's grown tired of the work and traveling from place to place, so he's decided to come back home where he knows he belongs.

Why They Want to be Part of the Biz: She's a model and actress. Her drug problem isn't that serious anymore. (well that's what she says) She's been in many magazinecovers and had some small parts on various shows/movies.
Brief History: Kate was born second on the Wingfield family. She has always had a strong bond with Laura, who was always her baby sister. Kate met her now ex-fiancee Carlos when she was 17. They've been having on-off relationship since then. Thou Carlos beat her up from time to time they were about to get married next month, but then Kate found him in bed with some young girl. After that Kate found out Carlos was going to marry her only because of her money. So Kate left him that day and moved out. Now she's going to move back to her parents so she can pick up the pieces of her life. She claims she's clean but you can't be sure.

Brief History She grew up with her parents, and 4 sisters nd they moved a lot. She lived in Japan, France, Norway, Brazil and many more countries. She was 16 when she was dicovered in the UK when she auditioned to mini series about the 16th century. She acted in UK for a while until she and her parents and sisters moved back to the US for good. She continued acting and got pretty much success. She is a close friend of Harvey and specially Nancy Wingfield, and was thrilled when she was asked to be in the new movie. Her biggest hit was in 1990 when she played the lead woman in a movie called Broken Me. She played a woman who was hallusinating and seeing things, which led to her committing suicide. Lori has also very hard charity worker, and always donates 50% of the money se gets from movies to different oranizations.

HARVEY

He took a deep breath and said, "That's fine, sweetheart. I was just asking." He glanced over at Nancy who had the most worried look plastered on her face. She always worried about things enough for the both of them, so he tried not to. This was going to be very eventful, what with Alex, Kate, and Laura all home. He was just waiting for Jason to burst through the door next. He went over to Nancy and whispered in her ear, "We're still on for tonight. I don't care what we have to work around. We are going to spend some alone time together."

TAY

He went over to his car and just sat there for a while. It had been a long time since he'd actually enjoyed a night out, and especially a night out with a girl. He smiled and put the key into the ignition. As he headed home, he began thinking about what they could do tomorrow night.

BECKY

Both of them were laughing pretty loud now, so loud that people were starting to stare. Becky took a deep breath and calmed down a bit. She looked over at the family and the looks on their faces. "I think there may be some trouble in paradise," she commented.

He loved Dani. She was so overprotective of him sometimes. It was cute.
"I will," he replied with a nod. He surveyed her features for a moment and put a hand to his chin, thinking about what to do that night. "Wanna get some take out or something? We havent done that in awhile."

James

"I bet it tastes good too," he replied with a smirk. His sadness melted away over his father. Kaitlyn being there for him was really great. He really needed a friend at that moment and she was the best person to do it. "Well?" he asked as he saw her bite in.

Laura

They were at the restaurant and she heard a familiar voice behind them as they entered the door. She swivelled to see her big sister Kate there. She smiled and Kate gave her a hug. They let go and she embraced everyone else. She said hi to them and all she could do was just stand there. She couldn't believe it. Laura was the first one to know about the engagement and she was actually glad it ended between them. She had seen pictures and it seemed inevitable.
"Katie," she said walking up to her. "I'm glad you got rid of that......a-hole." she added with a nod.

Nancy

She listened intently as Kate was telling them about Carlos. While she didn't like Laura's tone, he was an a-hole and she was glad she got rid of him too. Harvey then looked at her and leaned in.
"Okay," she replied to him simply. Going back to Kate, she smiled at her. "I'm glad you're home." she added and gave her another hug.

When Laura called Carlos an a-hole, Kate felt tears in her eyes. She still loved that a-hole but didn't want to admit it. So she just turned to Nancy and said "Thanks mom. It's nice to see all of you again. But please tell me Jason is not here" she had never really liked him. Even when they were just babies they fought all the time. "So what's up with all of you?" she asked.

"Take-out sounds wonderful to me," she said, grabbing her father's hand and heading out of the building. "That way we can find a good movie on TV and eat in our pajamas." She giggled softly and sped up her pace a bit.

KAITLYN

"Mmmm!" she replied, the big bite still in her mouth. It was just a mouth-watering sensation. The burger was probably the best one she'd had in years! She didn't really want to swallow it.

BECKY

"Well, I guess I'll be seeing you tomorrow, then?" she asked. "I'll hang around a bit longer and try to cook up some good gossip to tell you."

HARVEY

"Well, we just came over here to get a bite to eat," he began. "And then your mother and I have a date that we made." He slipped his arm around Nancy's waist, letting his hand rest just above her backside. He smiled at Kate. It was good to see her home, but she had become very needy and she could be at home for months before she even tries to get out of bed.

ALEX

"It's good to see you, Kate," he said, giving her a hug. He and Kate used to be so close before she went off to college then they never had much to talk about. All Kate seemed to care about was Carlos and, like almost everyone in the family, Alex didn't like him all that much.

"Yeah thanks, great! Have good rest of evening" she said and smiled as she head to her car. As she drove home she tought about Becky and Harvey. And the rest of the freaking Wingfields.

"Ooh a hot date? I didn't know you two still did you know it stuff." she said jokingly. "It's good to see you too Alex" she sat down on the table. She didn't know how long she was going to stay at her parent's house, but one thing she did know: she had to find new drugdealer here. And this time she had to keep it from her family. The last thing she needed right now was another round of fights and rehab.

HARVEY

He was almost taken aback when Kate said that she didn't think that they had romantic outings any longer. Well, yeah, it was true but he didn't realized that it was that obvious. Feeling light-headed, he sat down next to Kate at the table and pulled back a seat for Nancy. He grabbed a menu and began glancing through it, hopefully avoiding further uncomfortable conversation.

He sat down across from his father and Kate and just looked at her. She had had so many things going for her and then she went and just threw them all away. "Are you looking into some job opportunites?" he asked her, hoping that she was trying to do something productive with her life.

She did notice a bit of weird look on her dad's face but didn't pay attention to it really. Then she answered to Alex "Of course i am... Do any of you know any good agencys?" he said. She wasn't really planning to get a real job. Some modeling and acting maybe. She would possibly even get a small part from her mom's and dad's movie.

He laughed at Dani's comment. That was right, they could sit down in front of the TV and eat. He enjoyed the father/daughter moments those two have shared. But, with Christi now in the picture, they didn't have much of those anymore. Still, Dani will always be the most important person in his life no matter what.
"What do you want?" he asked as they headed towards the parking lot. "I was thinking Chinese or something."

James

He smiled at her and nodded. She seemed to really enjoy that burger. It looked appetising and he really was hungry himself. He grabbed his and bit into it. He started chewing. It was just too nice.
"Mmm is right." he replied with a nod.

Nancy

She sat at the table and looked at the conversation around her. Three of her children were home. Nancy was always very maternal, even when her children were away. She never felt complete without them. She kind of expected Jason to walk into the restaurant, but he was probably off enjoying life as a college graduate. She looked at her menu to decide what she wanted.

Laura

She listened to her brother and sister's conversation and couldn't help but smile. She wished Jason was there too to fill in the gap. Laura and Jason were siblings, but she wasn't as close to him as she was to Alex and Kate. Maybe it was because since he was three years older than she was and the second youngest, he thought he could do all the bossing around. All her siblings and her parents were overprotective, but there was just something about Jason always arguing with the two girls in the family. She never knew whether he did that with Alex but she thought it was because he thought the men were in charge. Who knows?
"It would be great if you could get a job, sis," she replied. "Especially one close to home."

"Well, you know, maybe you should consider getting a real job," he told her. "One that actually has a steady cash flow and actually forces you to work." After his comment, he returned his menu in front of his face. She really needed a good job, what with all of the situations she'd been in. But he usually didn't have the guts to say anything about it.

Carlos had always set her up with the modeling people. "So Laura and Alex what are you doing here? I tought you'd be in school and in europe. But i'm so glad were all here."

Laura was just as much confident for Kate than herself. It was good that she had enough confidence for everyone because she believed in them. She smiled at Kate and nodded.
"School doesn't start for another three weeks," she responded. "So, just thought I would see mom and dad. I'm so glad we're here too." she added.

Laura had always been such an amazing little sister. She was better than Kate in everything. That's she used to call Laura "Kate- version 2.0" "yeah maybe then.. Oh. Why it seems that school strats later and later every year?" she smiled and studied her parents' faces, dad seemed to be hiding behind the menu and mom... she looked as she always did when the family were all there. "Okay how the filming is going? Any hot scenes yet?"

She loved Kate so much. It was good to have her home. She missed her. Sure, they spoke on the phone alot, but it was never the same.
"Mom had a scene with two men today," she replied with a nod. "A sexy scene I believe." she looked at her mom and dad and hid her face in her hands.
"Sorry," she said. "Slipped out."

Nancy

She almost made a face at Laura, but she didn't. Instead she just looked at Kate and smiled like normal.
"Laura is right," she replied. "I had a sexy scene with two men. There'll be more of it tomorrow." she added giving Harvey a sympathetic look.

"Yeah yeah. Like i believe." she said giggling too. She and Laura did talk on phone and send e-mails but still she felf like they didn't spend enough time together. Laura was the only one she kept really in touch, and sometimes she felt like her mom and dad didn't want to be part of her scandalious life. It had really weaken their relationship when they had found her cocaine. This time she had t his it much better.
