Strange but my obsession with Titanic is something not new,
nor old and buried with her so deep within the sediment of the icy sea.
It struck a chord long before I knew, that still lingers in my heart, and yet it's all I do.
I can't help but ponder the mysterious and often vile events that aided in her demise that cold dark night
And yet, she has become an icon to many, but still remains in that dim light.
She waits, and yet, with a fleeting glimpse of her, so majestic still from years gone by,
So alone, but stately and quiet, so sad she still makes us cry.
She sits alone even on a full lit night,
The moonbeam absent so on that fateful night, now shines so ever bright, but never penetrates
her hallowed grave, a monument to those lost and saved.
And too, she holds within her leviathan, all the secrets of the deep,
And lost and sacred souls she keeps, that eternal sleep.
And too, a strange, eerie, query that plagues my mind to this day,
Why on Earth did she have to die in such a way?
Everything that could have added in her thoughtless death, Happened,
And so it goes..........
A fate that continues to haunt her to this day
A comfort for those who have lost their way
For God Shall Wipe Away All the Tears from their eyes,
A solace for us that live within the perpetual lies?
A comfort, and yet, there shall be no more death,
For Titanic, she fought back, surrendered, but relinquished her breath...........

The Voyage

Titanic set off on it's maiden voyage, carrying more than 2,220 passengers, from the docks of Southampton in early April 1912. Titanic's voyage was called the voyage of discovery, but it turned out to be the last that many of its passengers would take. Built originally with enough lifeboat capacity for everyone on the ship, the boat deck seemed too crowded so half of the lifeboats were taken off the ship.

While the great ship was speeding toward New York City, it struck an iceberg about 153km south of the Grand Banks of Newfoundland, only minutes before midnight on April 14, 1912. Titanic was swallowed by the sea in less than three hours, and, in the end, 1,513 out of the 2,220 passengers perished in the freezing ocean water. Titanic is now at the bottom of the sea, but its voyage live on in the minds and hearts of the survivors and the loved ones of those passengers who weren't as fortunate. This is the story of the passengers of the Titanic. This is the story of the Ship of Dreams…

Plot

If you haven’t figured it out already this is a role play about the Titanic, its “voyage of discovery” and the passengers of the doomed voyage. That’s pretty much the idea. Plot, story, events, are completely up to you. You add whatever you want to the mix: drama, fun, romance, friendship, jelousy, rivalry, tragedy… etc. Just let your imagination fly away and let’s enjoy the voyage.

Rules

Boy/Girl Rule. Up to six characters. Take at least two characters of two different classes. Keep also on mind that the classes *DO NOT* spend time on the ship mingling with one another. Especially first and third class people. This doesn’t mean that you can’t have people of different classes interacting for the sake of a storyline, it just means that they aren’t going to proclaim it to the world just because. This is how this rp is going to work: We are going to have skips. One skip = one single day on the Titanic. Usually a skip will take around two weeks of our time. Check your spelling and grammar. Don't write like this: D 4rtuneteller & D kyd r behind the 3. That hurt my eyes. There is no need to write every day, I know we have lives, but write at least once every other day. No one-line posts, no two lines, no three lines. Give depth to your characters. We want to know what they think and how they feel. Turn in your profiles asap. Now, if you agree with the rules and want to join, write a sentence with the word "harry potter" when you ask for a spot and I'll save you one. Don't forget to have fun!!!

History: Dante Steven Creighton Allison was born in Chesterville, Ontario, Canada on 9 December 1881, the son of Sean Allison and Maya Johnston. He had three siblings: Helena born on 9 April 1876, Stewart born on 16 October, 1879 and Richard born on 21 March 1887. Dante worked for a time as a clerk in Chester Casselman's General Store in Chesterville, but at the age of 19, his uncle, Jeremiah Johnston, hired him to head the junior division of the brokerage firm in Montreal he had started with Daniel McConnell, who would later buy the Montreal Star newspaper. The three men were members of Montreal's so called "Methodist Mafia", upstarts in Canadian financial circles. Dante was sent to Buffalo to learn shorthand, worked as an insurance agent for his uncle at Sun Life and New York Life, then was sent to Winnipeg where he opened an office.
During one of his frequent train trips back to Montreal he met Hilarie Emmerson Daniels , the young daughter of an Irish American factory clerk, originally from Massachusetts. They were married against her parents wishes in Milwaukee on his 24th birthday, just after she turned 21. The same year Dante began the Allison Stock Farm near Winchester, Ontario, and built a new house in Westmount, Quebec.
A woman of fragile health, Hilarie, died three years after her marriage. In an attempt to deal with his loss Dante left Canada and sailed to England where he spent most of his time mingling with the high society in social reunions and night bars of dubious reputation. His decadent behaviour earned him a bad reputation amongst the high society of London although he was reluctanlty accepted due to his "gentleman of high class" status. After spending four years in London, the news of the poor health of his uncle Jeremiah compelled Dante to buy a ticket on Titanic and sail back to America.

History: Elizabeth was born on Tuesday 14th January 1891 in Aylesbury Buckinghamshire England. Born in poverty, the daughter of Christian Jensen, the local butcher, started working when she was still a child. After a severe plague that ended the life of her father, Elizabeth left Aylesbury with the savings that her father left behind. Following her juvenile dreams, she moved to Paris, where she soon was enchanted by the lively citizens and the nocturnal life. The money was spent soon, however, and Elizabeth found herself working as a maid in one of many hostels of the city. It was there where she met Louis Ferdinand, who became her lover and ultimately, Elizabeths' doom. Louis was the master of fraud. Born from a lineage not more noble than Elizabeth's, Louis pretended to be a count and perfectioned the art of blackmail amongst Paris high class. Elizabeth entered the picture posing as his sister until the fatal night when Louis was murdered. Being the fist suspect of his assasination, Elizabeth had to leave Paris in a rush. She bought a ticket on Titanic, sharing her cabin with three young girls, two English and a Swede hoping to travel to New York and make a fresh start in there. And why not? Start a more honorable life in a land of opportunities.

Ruby's holidays were always spent with her loyal nanny, Beatrice. Then, at age sixteen, Ruby was sent off to boarding school. She studied hard, & got herself into Yale. She majored in Fashion, & in her third year there, her parents passed away. Ruby was left with everything they owned, & moved back to her hometown after finishing her senior year at Yale. She opened up her own fashion line, & the bucks just keep racking in. Sadly, Ruby's found herself growing bitter over the passing years. One day, she finally snapped. She realized she had no friends, no husband, & no children. That's why Ruby decided to treat herself to a vacation on the grandest ship ever made…the Titanic. This meant Holly pretty much gave up her entire social life to watch out for her family. Holly didn't mind though. After all, blood is thicker than water. Holly finally got her chance to shine when she won her high school writing contest. Feeling motivated, she started to enter anything and everything literature wise she could. Holly's winnings from the contests she'd won eventually added up to enough money to get her out of her little country town. Sadly, the day before Holly was to move, both her parents passed away. Holly was then placed back in her role as mother to her siblings, and gave up all hope of ever making something of herself. However, time quickly passed by, and now all of Holly's siblings are out on their own. That's when it finally dawned on Holly that she still had all that writing contest money of hers tucked away in savings. Holly withdrew it all, spending it on a ticket for the Titanic. Holly's so excited! For the first time in her life, she's done something for herself.

Sixteen years later, he's still at that same diner. The only thing that's changed is that he's a manager there now. The pay isn't all that great, but it's enough to keep a roof over Tucker's head. Recently, both of Tucker's parents passed away. In their will, they left Tucker a couple of hundred dollars, which was pretty much all they had to give. Instead of putting that money towards his house, Tucker decided to go out and do something spontaneous. He ended up buying a ticket aboard the Titanic.

History: Diego's father came from Spain at the age of twenty-two, with his young, expecting bride. As most did, his father had the hopes of creating a better life. His original intentions were set on sailing for America, but since they didn't have the money to make it there, they landed in England instead. It was still a better place than where they had been at that point in time. It was there that Diego's mother gave birth to him, two months premature. But he survived. He was always a little smaller than the other kids, and when he hit his teenaged years, he began lifting weights in order to increase his size. Diego grew up never wanting much, and just being satisfied with what he had. It was how his parents were, as well. His mother passed away when Diego was seventeen, and his father spiraled because of it. Diego hopes to go to America in order to find a job and send money to his father in order to help him out.

They were shunned from their social class, and they eventually landed in the third class arena. Dominic despised it at first, but later found that it wasn't as bad as most people made it out to be. For one thing, they were more lively and more jovial, something that Dominic always yearned for. His mother struggled to make ends meet, and Dominic began working at age nine. He did simple things, dangerous things. He almost had his hand cut off in a machinery accident. Though the experience had frightened him, he feels that now, it helped to strengthen him in some odd way. He and his mother managed to salvage whatever money they had left and he said good-bye to her and his home in the hopes of finding something better.

History: Eva's father was lucky enough to strike oil two months before Eva's birth, meaning instant wealth. Not only was it oil, but it was rich and valuable oil. This made Eva's up-bringing very easy. She rarely had contact with her rmother, or her father. Her father was always tied up with his work, while her mother just didn't really care to spend too much time with her. Instead, Eva found comfort and love in her nanny, Miss Elly. She was a black nursemaid that virtually raised Eva, with momentary interruptions along the way. Eva saw Miss Elly as her mother more than the one who birthed her. And because of this, Eva was never really one to believe in the idea that Miss Elly was less than anyone else, that she was less than her family. This helped to keep her head level and didn't let her become poisoned with the ideology that her entire family held. Eva never saw herself as "first class," though if she was taken out of her environment, she doesn't know how she'd react to that. But she's open to it. Eva is going to meet family members on the other side who are waiting for her arrival in America.

The money was more than they knew what to do with, so they set it aside and it was to be passed down from generation to generation. By the time it reached Genevieve and her family, the fortune was still very alive and still very present. It seemed that no matter how they spent it, not a dent was made. Genevieve grew up believing that she was better than those who were below her social status, that she could literally walk on top of them so as to not get her shoes dirty. And there would be no problem with that. When she was eighteen, she and her chauffer were driving to the store when the car suddenly died and wouldn't start up again. Genevieve didn't know what to do and started to panic. A third-class couple came and helped Genevieve and her chauffer. They managed to get the car started again, and afterwards, Genevieve had trouble believing all that she had in the past. Though part of her still looks down upon those in second and third class with her nose in the air, the other part of her sees them as people, for who they truly are. This cruise for her is merely a luxury, nothing more.

Also, when writting profiles, remember its 1912. Life (especially for women) wasn't the same in 1912.
