Role Playing - The Politicians [A Conspiracy Scandal of National Proportions!] MYOC

THE POLITICIANS

A rumor has made it's way across the country that could destroy a group of famous politicians and their families, as well. To try and devise a plan to cover up the scandal, they have decided to meet at a isolated location where no one will know where they are. One of the politicians is good friends with an owner of a hotel in the back woods of Vermont, a very private hotel. They pack their bags and make their way to Vermont, coming from all areas of the country.

But when they all get there, and old friends and flames are reaquainted, things begin to go wrong all over again. Will they be able to patch up their relationships and work on trying to fix the current scandal, or will they just create a bigger problem and more gossip?

Rules

+ I am enforcing the Boy/Girl because I want every to have a friend. But arrangements may be worked out.
+ And even number of Politicians and Others would be great, as well. But not necessarily enforced.
+ Please try and post at least every other and post enough for one to reply.

+ Seeing all the political stuff on television, I decided to start this RP to think about politics, but not too seriously.

+ Please don't let fights get started over political issues. It's just a game. (Arguments between characters are fine, but no arguments between players, please.}

Brief History: Helena grew up in a strong political family as her father once campaigned to be governor of her home state of Texas. He unfortunately lost the race, and it tore her family apart. Her mother soon left, leaving Helena and her two siblings to live with her father who eventually became a drunk and took his own life. In college, Helena studied to be a doctor but just into her third year, she realized that she wanted to go into politics. After being governor of Texas and serving years in the House of Representatives, she decided to run for President. With the help of her family, she won the race and served two years in the White House. This is currently the second year out of the White House for her, and actually, she was enjoying quite a bit until some of her political interactions with others was twisted and formed this huge scandal.

Brief History: Richard is your typical politician. He's well liked by the public as they don't know all of his secrets. He's very lucky that this is his first wide-scale scandal, as he couldv'e had numerous others in the past. He divorced his wife just before he campaigned for governor and now has a fresh, new girlfriend which his two children and his ex-wife loathe.

Brief History: Hugh was born in Vermont, and he's lived there all his life. It's where he grew up, where he went to school, and where he found the love of his life. Shortly after high school, his father passed away and he inherited the Wilderness Hotel, a local attraction where he worked for most of his young life. After a few years of owning and managing the hotel, he met his wife when she checked in on a business trip. They are very happy together and are currently expecting their first child.

Brief History: She had a typical childhood, growing up in a loving and suppporting family. She was an only child but was not spoiled. Her mother and father had strong beliefs on that subject. Christi was very popular in high school and was the homecoming and prom queen her senior year. Now, after college, she has finally decided to settle down with her college sweetheart. They were spending their honeymoon at the Wilderness Hotel when they heard that a group of politicians were to be coming in, and they weren't to be disturbed. She and her husband, being politically active themselves, consider this a wonderful opportunity to talk to some professionals, if they get the chance.

Brief History: Kathleen who was born and raised in Virginia, has been on politics all her life, because her parents were politicians. She joined politics as soon as she got of from College and because of her political drive, she was very quickly voted to be the vice governor of the state. She doesn't really have that much job to do, just to be present. Many people say she only got her current position because of her parents, when the prevous Vice Governor had to take a sick leave. Not long aftr she was appointed to the job, she found herself in the middle of this huge scandal.

Brief History: Alan has been an avid fan of politics since he was a kid. His parents never touched it, but for some reason, Alan was just the exception. He spent his time writing pretend speeches when he was younger and then when the time came, he did it for real. After college, he left for Washington for the summer, to write speeches for a candidate of the presidential campaign. He really enjoyed it, but it was until a few years later that he decided to enter politics himself. He went back home to Georgia where he became a candidate for Governor. He won by a landslide. But soon, it tore his family apart. He found himself putting work first so one day his wife left with his two children in tow. His been divorced for twelve years and even though he tries to find someone, his work always becomes his first priority.

On her parents' advice and the fact that it'll pay good money, she decided recently to become a candidate for senator, although, she thinks she won't get it because there are other great candidates.

Brief history- Caroline grew up in a very conservative small town in Tennessee. Growing up in a very liberal household made her different from many of her class mates growing up. When she entered college, she decided to major in law with the ambition of working her way up to being a supreme court justice. However, once she returned home from college, she realized that her state needed her. The last senator had been involved in another scandal involving an the under-age daugher of one of his campaign managers, and the people of the state were having trouble trusting another member of the Republican party. It was for that reason that she was able to win the vote from such a conservative state. Now, she's in the middle of a scandal, and she is determined to get the situation taken care of before the people's faith in their leaders is once again destroyed

I was going to make her the hotel owner, but I'd still like to be that character.

So she could be married to or in a relationship with the owner.

The only person I know to pair her with is Hugh Laurie.
