| New York University | A Role Play for Original Characters New York University Another turning point a fork stuck in the road time grabs you by the wrist directs you where to go So make the best of this test and don't ask why its not a question but a lesson learned in time “A tradition of excellence. A legacy of innovation.” New York University is by far one of the most distinguished and notable institutions of higher learning in the United States. Centered right in the heart of New York City, Greenwich Village, studying at New York University does not just pit you in the hands of the school, but of the entire city itself. Students of New York University don’t just prepare for life during their four year stay, they embark on a new life the second they step foot on the expansive campus. Vibrant and lively, NYU is constantly changing, constantly evolving, and naturally it encourages its students to do the same. Consisting of a total of fourteen colleges and Universities, NYU offers something for everyone and it’s wide variety of educational majors draws in people from all over the world. While our story centers around the students involved vigorously in their studies at NYU, it’s main focus is their lives, and how both the school and the city weave their ways in and out of their lives. When you live in the city that never sleeps and you study at one of the finest and most reputable of institutions in the world, life never stands still, and more importantly, the people never stand still. This story is about the relationships and the connections formed during college. It’s about the keg parties and the sororities. It’s about the classes and the professors. It’s about friends, and lovers, and adversaries. It’s about the ups and the downs, the heartaches, the challenges, and the changes. It’s about the good and the bad, the right and the wrong, the mistakes and the opportune chances sometimes taken and sometimes not. Most importantly, it’s about life, and the choices that come with it. Its something unpredictable but in the end is right I hope you have the time of your life List of Majors Being the oh so nice person that I am, I’ve provided you with a link of majors NYU offers which can be found here. Other Information The purpose of this role play is to provide a place for you to revive favorite characters from previous games, but everyone is welcome to create new characters as well. As always, the boy/girl rule is in place, and if you would like to play more of one gender, just make sure you can find someone else to compensate for the gender you chose not to play. Spell check is everyone's friend. Please be respectful to one another, and finally, bold the subjects in your profiles or I'll eat you. That's right. I'll EAT you. Rawr. Also, keep in mind that the point of this game was to allow anyone to bring in anyone they choose to bring in, meaning we may have multiple PBs. This is one of the few games where this will be aloud. Please be mature about this. Graduate Students Taken By: fleur captives Name: Elias (Eli) Donovan Age: Twenty-two, turning twenty-three Year: Graduate Major: Law Original Roleplay: Players 2: Charleston Personality: Outgoing, confident, friendly, mellow, laid-back, casual. Brief Background Information: In as few words as possible, his parents married young and weren't much older when they divorced. He was their only child and was subsequently brought up by his mother alone in her hometown of Charleston, South Carolina. That is as much information about past history that Eli Donovan is willing to share. How his mother and father met or what motivated their decision to part ways is something he spends as little time as possible thinking about and is considered relatively unimportant in the scheme of things. What is important, however, is that Lauren Miller Donovan did the best she could by her son. She worked hard to ensure there was a roof over their heads and food on their plates. In return, all that was expected of him was to stay in school and keep out of trouble. Eli was an exemplary student from day one, never bringing home lower than a 90 on a report card, but his extracurricular activities left something to be desired. His interests outside of school consisted mainly of girls; talking to them, sleeping with them, and then leaving them behind. Then, senior year happened. He straightened up his act and began dating Taryn Monroe, whom he'd had something of a crush on since they were in elementary school together. Their relationship was not without problems, but after separating for a short time, the two overcame their hang-ups just in time for the school year to finish. Eli went to study pre-law at Duke University, she graduated from high school a year later and headed to New York, but they've managed to keep things together long distance and now he'll be rejoining her for his first year of law school. Played By: Orlando Bloom Taken By: Dimaranwen Name: David Rodham Age: Twenty-six Year: Graduate Student Major: Mathematics Original Roleplay: Players 8: Greenwich Theme Song: The Past Presents the Future by Her Space Holiday Personality: Composed, Appreciative, Reluctant, Compassionate, Sincere, and Brief Background Information: Although David, the eldest of the Rodham clan, is far removed from the family's claim to fame as tobacco moguls and pretentious socialites, his caring nature reinforces the familial bonds he often tries to break. As a person, David most closely resembles his mother's temperament, so the duty of holding the family together naturally falls to him. Lynnette Pryor's marriage to Dick Rodham, the face and identity of Big Tobacco, paralleled the many business transactions Dick would conduct throughout his life. His approach to everything as a fiscal opportunity precipitated his passionless marriage and the treatment of his three children as future assets to his company. Dick acted under the impression that his wife unquestionably fulfilled her duty as a trophy wife, but he was eventually proven wrong when, upon returning from a business trip to Singapore, Lynnette producecd divorce papers awaiting his signature. Being a man of dignity and pride, Dick signed and was granted joint custody, hoping to encourage the necessary skills to be a cutthroat, efficient businessman in his sons. However, David resisted his father's efforts and questionable morals to pursue a more humble career as a teacher. David put himself through school with only some of his mother's fortune, and he took a teaching position at Greenwich High School shortly after graduating. To an inexperienced and young man, high school is full of traps and vices, and David was no exception. His downfall came in the form of young girl, Adrienne DeLongpre. But as a man of irrefutable morals, David refused to begin an actual relationship, although his mind was often at odds with his heart. Shortly after Adrienne's unexplained departure, David relocated to New York University for graduate school, and he currently teaches a few mathematics courses. PB: Ethan Hawke ![]() Seniors/Fourth Years Taken By: MischaFan42 Name: Logan Hardigend Age: Twenty-One Year: Senior Major: Pediatrics Original Role Play: -- Theme Song: A Day In The Life Of A Poolshark - Idiot Pilot Personality: Intrepid, effusive, altruistic, assiduous, whimsical, and aesthetic. Brief Background Information: Logan, without a doubt, should not be at NYU at the moment. No, he should be in Yale or Harvard, or somewhere that his parents actually wanted him to be. Logan's life-plan was set by the time he was 2-years-old. Get into Yale. Become a big-shot. Make big money like his daddy. Take over the family business. Blah blah blah. It's the same old story for a helpless boy who just wanted his own life for a change. He applied to NYU at the age of 17, also along with Yale and Harvard to please his parents. Surprise! (sarcasm) He got into all three. And then, it was time to make a choice.. Fall down a path that was created for him by the two people he truly despised. Or, forge his own path. Become his own person. Do what he wanted. Of course, by the looks of this profile, he chose his own path. He lied- Told his parents he was booking a flight out of Springfield, Illinois to Harvard.. And booked a flight to New York instead. Hence, we have Logan Hardigend, the intelligent, charming book-warm, in NYU. When he came home for Thanksgiving his Freshman year in college, he came clean with his sharade in NYU. His parents had a fit, told him never to come back home until he transfered, and that was the end of the story. Or not. Christmas break, he got a call just like any other one- "Logan! Son, our party is at 7. Hope you can make it. Mom, Jenny, and I send our love!" Jenny, his younger sister who is now seventeen, had a wonderful way with words, which means she talked her sweet little way into making her parents forgive her older brother. Since then, his life has been perfect. Logan was never taken to become a pediatrition, considering his personality, his love for soccer, and his poetic way- But it was always his dream to help little children, so he wanted to fufill it. He definitley has the brains to do it, without a doubt. Logan's hopes are to become a children's doctor- But if not, he would fall back on becoming a professional soccer player, or even an author. He has a wide range of interests, and he has no doubt that he can do them all. PB: Josh Hartnett ![]() Taken By: FAIT_Accompli Name: Taryn “Tay” Monroe Age: Twenty-One Year: Senior Major: Health Studies Original Roleplay: Players 2: Charleston Theme Song: Come Away With Me - Norah Jones Personality: Adventurous, Competitive, Driven, Genial, Laid-back, Sentimental. Brief Background Information: “Till death do us part,” or so the vow goes. In an age when the divorce rate only seems to be progressively increasing, and promises made before a church, friends, and family are forsaken, Liam and Margaret Monroe were amongst the few that stayed true to their vows, right up until the end when a freak stroke took Liam away from his familya few years back. For better or for worse, in sickness and in health, the two built a life together, and when the going got tough, the tough stayed put and fought through it. Together, Liam and Margaret managed to achieve the American dream, consisting of the 2.5 kids (Tay’s two older brothers often joke that she is the .5, due to her pint size), the golden retriever, and the white picket fence. Tay was fortunate to know very little in the way of domestic troubles, with the exception of an overbearing, overprotective brother. In high school, Tay made a name for herself as the only female on the varsity hockey team, and during her junior year, she became involved with her brother’s friend, Elias Donovan, to which her brother objected to, and violently at that. Theirs was a romance not unlike a WB romance that struggled through the intervention of opinionated friends, personal demons, and a temporary separation, only to ultimately triumph following a reunion on Valentine’s Day. Since then, their relationship has remained strong, in spite of the physical constraints of a “long distance relationship” they’ve maintained while studying at two separate universities (which were made easier by alternating weekend visitations every few weeks, and sometimes pissing off roommates that were displaced when the two needed some “woohoo! time,” cough.) After pursuing a now defunct music career, Tay’s refocused her ambitions back on ice hockey and education, is entering her senior year with a respectable GPA, and anticipates being permanently reunited with Eli. (And five years is four years, eleven months longer than the typical WB romance, so hey, extra points there.) PB: Avril Lavigne ![]() Taken By: fleur captives Name: Brynn Walker Age: Twenty-one Year: Senior Major: Film and Television Original Roleplay: Players 3: Seattle Personality: Observant, plainspoken, blunt, matter-of-fact, unsociable, solitary. Brief Background Information: In 1982, Clayton Walker had only just turned twenty and was still finding his place in the world. It was his second year studying music at the University of Texas at Tyler and he was quickly becoming an able and confident musician. Passionate about his craft, he was a welcome addition at open mic nights at the local bar. While performing, he met Elizabeth Miller, a nineteen-year-old waitress and high school dropout, and the attraction between the two was instant. They had only known each other for four months when they made the decision to marry one, hot summer afternoon at the local courthouse. Brynn, their first and only child, was born some eleven months later and though not everything about the situation was perfect, hopes were high that the young couple would last despite the odds. They didn't; Elizabeth, tired of her life as wife and mother, left town on her daughter's second birthday and was never heard from again. Life went on for Clayton, who continued to make ends meet by performing and taking odd jobs when needed, and for Brynn, soon enough a bright, optimistic child, and just as quickly a calloused, bitter teenager. The father and daughter relocated to Seattle when she was sixteen in hopes of something better but she knew to expect the worst. Evicted from their apartment six months prior to her high school graduation and subsequently rejected from the University of Southern California, the worst was exactly what they got. Brynn, though as pessimistic as ever, has moved on from the experience and is presently pursuing her own passions in the Big Apple. Just don't mention the name Darrien Fox. Played By: Angela Lindvall Juniors/Third Years Taken By: x*Brooke*x Name: Leeita Akers Age: Nineteen Year: Junior Major: English Original Roleplay: Players 6 Theme Song: I Want To Save You By Something Corporate Personality: Modest, Unpretentious, Sullen, Cautious, Apprehensive, Considerate Brief Background Information: The story of the beginning of Jeremy and Lindsay Akers was practically acted out every Tuesday evening when a new episode of Dawson’s Creek would chronicle the romance of the best friends Josephine Potter and Dawson Leery. The similarities were often pointed out whenever the Akers family sat in front of the television screen. Lindsay, too, worked as a waitress. They were from a small town reminiscent of Capeside, it even had its own creek. The awkward pauses, lingering glances and painful adolescence portrayed during the course of the Joey and Dawson relationship essentially was a reenactment of what Jeremy and Lindsay endured upon falling in love. Even the break ups onscreen were similar to those off, as Lindsay mistakenly broke Jeremy’s heart during the course of their senior year to date another guy that inevitably discovered his true sexuality (see: gay) while they were “together”. A couple that consistently made up only to break up once again, while there was no Pacey Witter to steal the heart of his leading lady, many were doubtful upon hearing the announcement of their engagement directly after graduation. For years, Lindsay and Jeremy proved the skeptics wrong and lived a normal life raising their two daughters. While matrimonial harmony was never quite the status quo, the pair was generally believed to be happy. The declaration that they were going to get a divorce shocked the closest of family and friends, particularly due to the fact that they were incapable of giving an exact reason as to why. Two years have since past and Sloane, along with her sister, lives with her father in the same home they’ve always known. Occasionally, a phone call or post card will be received from their mother who has been more than making up for lost time. When asked why the relationship between Lindsay and Jeremy dissolved, he tends to say that it was inevitable that they break up… much like Dawson on the show, Jeremy wasn’t willing to fight for the girl next door and, sadly, a tight-knit group of close family and friends wasn’t enough to make Lindsay stay. That left two girls without their mother and a beaten father they were left to fend for themselves against the outside world. Her father started taking out the anger on her, and as Leeita go physically abused it made her want to get out of the house faster. During high school she had her first love, her first heartbreak and also a grudge that she still keeps. Channing Hurst's name still has mentions in her diary as she lives in New York. Leeita and her sister grew apart while she moved to New York and attended Columbian University. Her hair was cut as soon as she got there along with dyed, hopefully portraying a stronger person that the normal guy wouldn't even think of targeting. PB: Samaire Armstrong ![]() Taken By: Dr. Barnett05 Name: Aiden Clark Age: 21 Year: Junior Major: Graphics Original Roleplay: Punks Vs. Preps Theme Song: "Over My Head"- The Fray Personality: Introverted, Sarcastic, Intelligent, Independent, Funloving. Brief Background Information: The life of Aiden Cohen has been a pretty normal one thus far, he grew up in a large victorian mansion in New York with his parents and his sister. He was a normal kid throughout his growth, doing the normal stuff tons of teens do, including sports, social activities, and being with his family. Aiden wasn't one of the kids to simply "abandon" his parents when he reached an older age, he loved weekends that consisted of being lazy around the house with his parents and his sister or just going on errand runs to the grocery store, Aiden is just a very laid-vack kind of guy. Since his first year in high school, Aiden knew that he wanted to be in graphics design and knew exactly where he wanted to learn it, New York University, the school that had been his dream school from a very young age. It turned out actually, that both of his parents had formally atteneded NYU, his mother, who majored in screenplay and his father, a medicine/med student, both went on to extremely successful careers after school. Aiden worked extremely hard during his years in high school, most times staying at home studying while his friends went to party, striving for the grades and SAT's to be able to be accpeted into a school like NYU. The day his acceptance letter arrived from NYU was the happiest day in his life, and he has loved his first two years at the school learning the arts of graphics design and can't wait to finally begin his third year at the school. PB: Adam Brody ![]() Taken By: MischaFan42 Name: Willie Leighton Age: Twenty Year: Junior Major: Journalism Original Role Play: -- Theme Song: Spiders - Lovedrug Personality: Efficacious, original, desultory, discommodious, obnoxious, and honest. Brief Background Information: Write, write, write, write- Scribble! Deadline. Willie's whole life revolves around writing, it's almost as if a pencil is permanently attached to his hand. It started out his Freshman year in high-school, when he got into some trouble- (Which means drinking and doing drugs on school property). His punishment was to join the Newspaper staff- Some kind of cruel and unusual punishment. His first piece was on the suicide of a Junior, whom he knew nothing about. So, Willie went on a quest.. And he actually found himself interested. He explored this kids life, and found out many significant details about his family, his friends, and what could've possibly lead him to suicide. He took pictures of the funeral, and BAM! Willie was a hotshot journalist. Suddenly, he dropped everything and anything that he was doing before, and put his whole heart and soul into journalism. It finally made him have meaning.. Ever since then, Willie has been this amazing journalist that works for the NYC times (local newspaper), and even the NYU report (university newspaper), in which he always scores the front page, headline story. Willie's life wasn't exactly picture perfect when he was younger, so he has no ties back home. His father was an abusive drunk and his mother a scared to death heroin-addict. He had 8 brothers and sisters- Some step, some half, and some full. But what does that matter? Willie hasn't spoken to any of them in years, in hopes to erase his horrible childhood. He hasn't had many relationships, because some might call him 'scared' of commitment, or actually doing something other than criticizing people or writing the latest story. The mystery of Willie Leighton is that he has no mystery- Who just have to know him before you judge him. PB: Heath Ledger ![]() Taken By: straylight Name: Sloane McFarland Age: Twenty-One Year: Junior Major: Gender and Sexuality Studies Original Roleplay: -- Theme Song: Red Vines by Aimee Mann Personality: Altruistic, Effervescent, Impulsive, Overzealous, Reckless, and Savvy. Brief Background Information: Originally the consequence of a fifteen-year old’s scandalous affair with her nineteen-year old neighbor, Sloane McFarland was barely a month old when she was surrendered to a Presque Isle adoption agency. It took years weaving in and out of countless foster homes until a couple finally became smitten with the dimple-faced brat of a seven-year old. That couple – twenty-eight year old Alice McFarland, a Walgreens employee, and twenty-five year old Leona Polochack, a columnist for Presque Isle’s most prominent newspaper – concluded, within a period of two weeks, that they wanted Sloane to be their own. Four days of pestering paperwork and a household integrity check later, Alice and Leona had a daughter. At first, Sloane was confused: where’s Daddy? Is Daddy working? When can I see Daddy?, and it wasn’t until she was twelve-years old when Alice and Leona decided to sit their daughter down and explain why she had two mommies. Unlike most would like to believe, Sloane had no quarrel over the relationship between her parents – they loved her, they bought her want she wanted, and that was all Sloane could really ask for. Alice and Leona both raised their daughter in a household that knew few rules, allowing Sloane to establish and concoct her own limits. By the time high school knocked, Sloane was infamous for possessing an acute, often reckless, and activist-type persona. She was at the throne of both Society For A Better Environment and Young Democrats by the curb of her junior year and at the curb of her senior year, Sloane had a number of college acceptances in the box; she commited herself to New York University after one visit under the resolve that she would fit in well amongst the efficacious and restless community. At first, Sloane was an undecided recruit until the end of her freshman year, when she elected Gender and Sexuality Studies her prime interest. PB: Elizabeth Hendrickson ![]() Taken By: Kiss_Me_Kate323 Name: Christopher Siler Age: Twenty-one Year: Junior Major: Philosophy Original Roleplay: -- Theme Song: Smile Like You Mean It - The Killers Personality: Animated, Cogitative, Facetious, Impetuous, Philanthropic, and Vigorous. Brief Background Information: Christopher was born and raised in El Paso, Texas, and he spent alot of time over the border with his parents who were self-employed delegates. They would go over every few other month or so and teach the impoverished people English and the American culture, then help them get passports. The Silers are old money, and therefore have the ability to do humanitarian work instead of adding to large fortune that had been accumulated in past generations. They also fund the trip to New York for some of them so they can be free. What's the point in teaching them everything you can if they don't have the means to use it for the purposes both participants intended. Christopher has also spent a few months of his life in other poverty stricken areas such as Africa, China, Iraq, India, and several countries in Middle and South America. Christopher has gotten most of his education from homeschooling, though he spent his last year and a half of high school in Franklin High in El Paso. NYU was Christopher's choice school because he hasn't spent much time in New York City, he's been there, but only for about two weeks, and that's not enough time to do what he originally came to do. His entire life, he's gotten people up to the point of sending them to get their citizenship, but he's always wondered what it's like on the other end, to help them finish the process. He came with the intention of majoring in the same field as his parents, but decided shortly after arriving that Philosophy was more up his alley. PB: Robert Pattinson ![]() Taken By: DreamOn777 Name: Jonathan *Jon* Stuart Age: 21 Year: Junior Major: Economics Original Roleplay: Legacy Theme Song: "Over and Over Again" - Clap Your Hands Say Yeah Personality: Responsible,Tortured,Sophisticated,Bland,Refined,Passive Brief Background Information: Most children grow up with a nice enough family, having nice enough friends, and playing with nice enough toys.Does Jon's lack of these three things explain his unhappiness in life? Perhaps. To put it simply,it's not easy being the heir to a mega million dollar company. It's not like Jon ever asked to be born the person he's supposed to become. His father died when he was just a wee little lad and he was pretty much raised by his mother..actually scratch that.Jon was raised by no one.He was pretty much forced into playing father to the Stuart family. While his younger sister and brother were out playing,he was inside doing something or other that had to be done.Jon has always resented his mother for making him the way he is.His dream as a child was to pursue music as he was always fond of his guitar but his mother crushed his dreams when he was a boy.She has managed to shape him into the perfect boy as she sees him and never forgets to remind him that he is the heir to the Stuart line.Jonathan decided a long time ago that instead of rebelling against his mother he would accomplish the goals she set for him and the life she planned for him.Despite his perfectionist neurotic exterior,he's a good man at heart. He both hates and loves his mother,a feeling that Freud would describe as an Oedipus complex. But don't expect Jon to be marrying his mother anytime soon. He's not that much of an Oedipus though they might share a common curse of a tragic ending when all is done. The moment he left high school,he found his way into NYU but even as he tries to escape,he's never away from his mother. She's there in his mind as she always is..in his head. What a lucky boy Jon Stuart is! PB: Ryan Gosling ![]() Taken By: Dimaranwen Name: Jacqueline "Jacq" West Age: Twenty Year: Junior Major: Journalism and Mass Communication Original Role Play: N/A Theme Song: Glory Box - Portishead Personality: Deceptive, fickle, mischievous, blithe, erudite, and parochial. Brief Background Information: Out of the seven children from the sitcom refusing to die, Jacqueline most closely resembles Mary Camden, the 'goody-two-shoes turned rebel.' As the child of the local reverend and his predecessor's daughter in a small town just a few miles away from Charleston, South Carolina, Jacqueline assumed the role of the typical "southern belle." She was sent to finishing school; she learned to speak eloquently without the troublesome southern drawl. Jacqueline was the model girl for every female in town, but eventually, the spotlight proved to be too harsh for Jacqueline. She rebelled as teenagers tend to do, trashing the prim skirts and dresses she so often wore, abandoning 'high' society and associating with whom her parents kindly referred to as 'white trash.' Her parents allowed her little phase to play itself out, only to discover that Jacqueline, now only answering to Jacq, wasn't going to run out of steam anytime soon. In order to hinder her resitance, they sent her to a boarding school in England, far away from the scrutiny of her father's parishioners. Much to her parents' chagrin, Jacq continued to experiment. The boarding school was just as corrupt; they were only better at hiding it. Jacq was taken in by all the deception, partially molding her personality into what it is today. She is knows how to get what she wants, but more significantly, she knows how to make what she wants appear completely deserved. PB: Sienna Miller ![]() Sophomores/Second Years Taken By: Kiss_Me_Kate323 Name: Tiffany Candilora Age: Nineteen Year: Sophomore Major: Anthropology Original Role Play: Preps vs. Punks Theme Song: NYC Weather Report - Five For Fighting Personality: Altruistic, Fervid, Impervious, Opinionated, Passionate, and Thrill-seeking. Brief Background Information: If you have ever seen Father of the Bride, you will easily understand what Tiffany's life is like. Her father owns a small advertising agency near home, and her mother Lorraine has always balanced parenthood and career beautifully, being the picture perfect modern woman at work, and the loving old-fashioned mother at home. The Candilora's have the white-picket fence surrounding the quaint 50's era inspired house on a quiet and shady street called Towncrest Way, they even have the backyard basketball hoop and the fuel-efficient SUV to top it all off. Tiffany is the oldest of three kids, each of them excelling in one thing or another. Politics, charities, culture and et cetera are Tiffany's specialties. She is a do-gooder with an attitude and quite a bit of flare. She's constantly looking for ways to help, whether the helpee is a single person, an animal, the Earth, an organization, or all humanity and mankind. All of her life, she's pushed herself to the limit by participating in tons of activities, both in school and out. The list goes on and on, but it's led by Model U.N., Student Body President, the Mayor's personal assistant in the summer (he's a friend), Student Council Chairwoman, heading up real charities (real meaning things that actually help, not balls, parties, and auctions.), and countless hours of volunteering, especially for victims of natural disasters. This is Tiffany's life, and she would never change a thing, even the stuff she's unhappy with. Tiffany graduated high school and, with acceptance letters from several colleges chose NYU. Where better than New York to start your life right? The center of it all. PB: Amber Tamblyn ![]() Taken By: Kiss_Me_Kate323 Name: Olivia Chandler Age: Nineteen Year: Sophomore Major: Pathology Original Roleplay: The Dominate Theme Song: Absense of God - Rilo Kiley Personality: Debauched, Dexterous, Individualistic, Manipulative, Shrewd, and Vehement. Brief Background Information: Don't be fooled by the smile and friendly disposition, Olivia is quite the opposite. She will do absolutely anything to get what she wants, for her, the end justifies the means. The familiar words of Jack Sparrow, Take what you can, give nothing back, take on a whole new meaning with her. She doesn't have a soft spot, nothing can break her. But this is only under the surface, above it, to those who haven't even begun to tap into the hostile person she is, she's a sweet, harmless girl. Olivia will get to you, make you like her, and truly believe that she likes you and wants to be your friend, then she'll strike. Life is a game for her, if you have money, popularity, and determination, you are a champion. If you, however, don't have the ambition, you are just a loser like everyone else. You will seldo m find her messing with people just for fun, it's a waste of time, a valuabe commodity that she is low on. Olivia only steps on people when it will benefit her, if you don't have something she wants, you are invisible scum. Whether or not you will fall victim to her ways is completely up to you. Like an animal, she only preys on those that can't defend themselves. If you can't take someone hurting you, or don't have it in you to help yourself at other's expense, beware the bitch! The Chandler Mansion is a home of elegance, wealth, and success. Her father being a corporate big-shot, and her mother a self-help guru, you know the type, holds conferences all around the country, writing motivational books, et cetera, et cetera. Growing up getting mixed messages from both parents has changed her once faultless vision of life. With her father saying that you should do what you have to do to get to the top, and her mother saying that anything was possible if you try enough, Olivia was easily confused, so she integrated the two outlooks, to get what she now believes. Her philosophy isn't what either parents meant to teach, though her callous father has grown proud of her accomplishments, and her naive mother of her zest and determination. Olivia has been pushed to do everything she is allowed, which is a wide variety of things. Her foot wasn't only the door we call society when she very young, she was all the way through. PB: Emmy Rossum ![]() Taken By: In Fair Verona Name: Ian Ellsworth Age: Twenty Year: Sophomore Major: Economics Original Roleplay: Players 6: Galveston Theme Song: "Faggot" - Mindless Self Indulgence Personality: Audacious, Whimsical, Adventurous, Impetuous, Quixotic, and Empathetic. Brief Background Information: Ian Ellsworth was once the epitome of your shy, trepid teenage boy. Ridden with insecurities and uncertainy, his life was lived tentative at best. When you're a homosexual living in Texas, you tend to watch your steps - so Ian's learned. The big epiphany happened at debate camp when he was fourteen, and it was a milestone in the sense that Ian finally admitted his attraction to the same sex to himself. His parents were a little harder to sell. The Ellsworths preferred to act as though they knew nothing different and instead were distracted by Ian's more rambunctious sister. In the meantime, Ian was trying to win the attention of a boy named Jarrett, the long-time object of his affections. After much drooling, Ian somehow succeeded. However it was then that he neglected to appreciate what he had, as his own attention was distracted by a brash, overtly masculine, and obnoxiously mean boy named Rafe Carmichael. Ian never planned to fall for the boy who made his life a living hell or to hurt Jarrett in the process, however things unfolded as such... Though Ian and Rafe's turbulent relationship didn't last as they went different ways for college, Ian had changed because of it. No longer hesitant and tentative, Ian embraces adventure and opportunity with a little less trepidation. However heartbreaks aside, he has still yet to outgrown his penchant for being a hopeless romantic. PB: Jonathan Bennett ![]() Taken By: Sundance Kid Name: Isola Espinosa Age: Twenty Year: Sophomore Major: Journalism Original Roleplay: Players 5: New York City Theme Song: Suffer Well – Depeche Mode Personality: Secretive, Composed, Imaginative, Mellow, Creative, and Unpredictable. Brief Background Information: Isola’s parents got married about eight years after having met each other at a small pub somewhere in Oklahoma. After one year of being married their first child James was born, followed three years later by Isola. The family, led by the harsh and often dominant mother, later moved to New York City so that the kids would get the best education and living conditions possible. Since their mother could not bare to see them fail at anything, both James and Isola were put through enormous pressure. Unfortunately for the two of them, their father was either too lazy or too much of a coward to ever stand up against his wife, and the family crisis that had sort of been growing under the surface for years reached it’s climax when James hung himself in the basement, not able to live up to his mother’s ambitions and plans for her son. It was Isola who found him, which made her completely turn against her parents, resulting in a divorce from them. Followed by that, she took her grandmothers last name, Espinosa, and moved out of her parents house to her own place. Since then she has been hating her parents like they were diseases, but it was probably the feeling of guilt for not having been able to help her brother before it was too late that led to Isola pretty much giving up on her studies during her senior year in High School. For a while she did not have any real plans of continuing on to university level, but towards the end of her last year in school her motivation returned and she managed to raise her grades enough so that, together with a killer essay, it was enough to get accepted to the New York University, where she has now been enrolled for one year. PB: Lene Marlin ![]() Taken By: Dimaranwen Name: Alexander Heart Age: Nineteen Year: Sophmore Major: Art and Art Professions Original Role Play: Players 5: New York Theme Song: Megalomania - Muse Personality: Disagreeable, Cynical, Critical, Insightful, Somber, and Misanthropic Brief Background Information: Although few could claim credit for the "masterpiece" that is Alexander Heart, there are even fewer who would wish to. In the simplest, most direct terms, Alexander is a dick, a self-proclaimed title, a general consensus to that label notwithstanding. Tracing back to the origins of Alexander's personality and philosophy produces few answers, but many questions. Alexander emulated the All-American boy, a dying breed stemming from the traditional, nuclear family. Rick and Sandra Heart were model parents, always finding the time to take Alexander to soccer practice and listen to the trivial problems of a boy on the brink of puberty. He was on the fast track to becoming the youngest forward to play professional soccer, but somewhere along the difficult path of adolescence, Alexander developed a personality and whims of his own. No one is saying it's a better one; people's opinions of Alexander don't exactly lie on the agreeable end of the spectrum. He did the opposite of what everyone expected simply because he felt like it. He preferred the unpredictable, and turns out, more rocky, road. Because of his contrasting, imperfect personality, he often clashed with his father, who seemed focused on changing him. His father's stubborn wishes only gave Alexander more of an incentive to be different. He was tired of leading his team to win the big, shiny trophy, year after year. He hated anxiously waiting to play his meticulously perfected piece at piano recitals. He gave up his old passions, which he now considers quite asinine. He easily picked up the basic techniques of art and created his own unique style, and his work enabled him to earn enough scholarship money to supplement his own earnings. He attends NYU with the satisfaction of getting there on his terms without the help of his parents, who haven't decided who they are more afraid for - Alex or his new peers. But after all, the only heart Alexander has is in his name, and that isn't about to change anytime soon. PB: Jake Gyllenhaal ![]() Taken By: BCD Name: Brooklyn Mosier Age: Nineteen Year: Sophomore Major: Marketing / Minor: Photography Original Roleplay: That Nonexistant One…Called Yeah Theme Song: Sure Thing Falling / Yellowcard Personality: Ambiguous, Amiable, Dauntless, Droll, Hapless and Klutzy Brief Background Information: You’re a smartass. You’re an ass. You have a nice ass. These assy quotes riddle Brooklyn Mosier’s yearbooks, and he’s proud of it. He spent his high school career dawdling after skirts with a smoldering gaze and an aging camera that seemed convincing of a good lay. Swim team, soccer team, he dabbled in some sports. His passion, however, has always been photography; living to capture the moment is much easier when you have a freaking camera, as he says. Once he got to college, he found that life was less about what you looked like (at least in New York) and more about who you were, and so Brooklyn decided to show that through the images he found worthy enough to photograph. The birch tree over there. The falling flower up there. The glowing brunette at the bench with her boyfriend. He realized that he could let people see just how clueless and Cohen-esque he really is. The eldest of two boys, Brooklyn was raised by a single mother after his father completely abandoned the family fifteen years ago. He just left. Mr. Mosier can best be described as a bastard by Brooklyn; he didn’t really know him anyway, but Ms. Mosier was hurt, so Brooklyn was pissed. He still is, a little. PB: Bekim Trenova Taken By: x*Brooke*x Name: Allie O'Carlton Age: Nineteen Year: Sophmore Major:Music Original Roleplay: Melbourne Academy Theme Song: Cute Without the E by Taking Back Sunday Personality: Presumptuous, Smug, Vain, Proud, Audacious, Cautious Breif Background Information: Even at a young age Allie has always been bossy and stubborn. Her friends learned to listen to her, and if she didn't want them playing in the sandbox with her they sat on the edge and watched. If one of her friends ended up getting a better ice cream flavour they'd have to switch. She learned how to be mean to people, how to manipulate them and how to screw them over. Her parents always thought that her rebellious streak was a phase, but after six years they've become dissapointed to finally realize that her indestructable ways are, in fact, not a phase at all but a lifestyle. Going into Melbourne she was over-confident, too shallow and uncharitable. Graduating from Melbourne she matured a bit, became a bit more relaxed and maybe even started becoming motivated. At least motivated enough to push herself into attending university in New York. She had been forced to take piano since a young age, and it was the only thing that stuck around all those years so it was natural for her to take a major in music, even though her parents thought of it as a waste of money. Played By: Evan Rachel Wood ![]() Taken By: Dimaranwen Name: Cedric Pembrooke Age: Twenty Year: Sophmore Major: Accounting, Taxation and Business Law Original Roleplay: Players 5: New York Theme Song: My Girlfriend's Boyfriend - Her Space Holiday Personality: Charming, Sincere, Direct, Fluctuant, Obstinate, and Grudging Brief Background Information: Cedric Pembrooke, the son of a wealthy British horse breeder and a famous actress, was given everything, which left him free to pursue any endeavor, any whim, that he chose. As a rash, uncouth young man, at least by the elite of Britain's standards, Cedric exploited his good looks and charm. Malcolm Pembrooke, severely disapproving of his son's antics, wasted no time in moving to the States with his son and wife, Moira, hoping to curb his son's ways. Despite the relocation, Cedric's plans concerning the fairer sex remained unchanged, but before his senior year had even started, he met Laken Knowles. Their relationship was tumultuous, to say the least, and even in its moments of stability, events such as his father's interference and more importantly, the arrival of his half-brother, Levi, submerged the couple in pandemonium. One fateful day, Cedric left to take care of his dying father in England, entrusting Levi with the responsibility of looking after Laken. Cedric returned after a few months as the owner of the family company to find the two of them in love, yet his return presented Laken with a choice. Laken ended up choosing Cedric, after Levi left for Britain, still unforgiven by his brother. Laken's choice was so immediate after Levi's departure; Cedric was haunted by doubts that eventually caused the lovers to break up. A year at NYU has brought very little clarification to his situation with his ex-girlfriend and his brother, but behind his vindictive facade, there are quiet hopes of reconciliation. PB: Orlando Bloom ![]() Name: Benjamin 'Ben' Reeve Age: Nineteen Year: Sophomore Major: Accounting, Taxation and Business Law Original Role Play: Players 5: NYC Theme Song: -- Personality: Crude, malicious, conceited, dishonorable, impulsive, antagonistic. Brief Background Information: It seemed like the simplest of tasks. Elgin Robertson was offering Benjamin large amounts of money to date the incredible dull Sidalie Bradford. At that exact moment Benjamin wasn't all that sure why Elgin had singled him out. Although it was common knowledge that Benjamin was a 'sexual predator', which is hardly a reason to send him in the direct of young girls. But after that dreadful first date Benjamin became very aware of why he had been chosen. The words crazed stalker comes to mind. It seemed that Sidalie Bradford was capable of some very sick fantasies in her dull mind. Which is why Benjamin Reeve is remembered by most as the boy who got into a fight during Homecoming. Oddly enough Benjamin didn't flee from the city after such an embarrassment. He was ready to forget the events of high school and remain the city that he has lived in all his life. But that doesn't mean that you can expect any changes in his personality. Benjamin is still the sort of boy who takes money for dates, belittles girls at their Homecoming dance and end up with no one at all. PB: Tom Bailey ![]() Taken By: dreamboat 370 Name: Chase Toland Age: Nineteen Year: Sophomore Major: Pediatrics Original Roleplay: -- Theme Song: Coheed And Cambria - Hearshot Kid Disaster Personality: Leery, Purposeful, Avid, Complacent, Avoidant, Self-disciplined Brief Background Information: You've heard the story before. Fine, upstanding young gentleman born into an, ahem, privileged family-- intelligent, ambitious, passionate. Father's a prominent businessman (probably something to do with illegal slave trading from china), mother's a well-known socialite with a grey-goose martini and a credit card surgically attached to each hand. Kid grows up somewhat detached and combined with a number of other reasons, ends up somewhat psychologically unstable. Doesn't play well with other kids, focuses persistently only on himself, signs up for every single advanced course available, has a few massive psychotic breakdowns, finds himself addicted to antidepressants, starts selling prescription medication, comes off as an asexual bipolar robot. You know. Nothing particularly exciting. And yeah, the chosen major doesn't make a lick of sense, but apparently Chase enjoys being around children more than his peers-- actually, he'd rather hack away at his jugular with a dull butter knife than be around other teens for longer than absolutely necessary-- though certainly not to the degree where he builds himself a mansion, fills it with toys, calls it 'Neverland' and invites stupid parents to bring their kids over so he can commit some unspeakable acts. More like he finds talking to them much more interesting. Because most of them have better things to say than your average college bimbo. | Freshmen/First Years Taken By: straylight Name: Rod Carmichael-Hollenbeck Age: Nineteen Year: Freshman Major: International Relations Original Roleplay: I Don't Remember The Name: An Original MYOC Theme Song: Be Good To Yourself by Journey Personality: Bigoted, Calculating, Emphatic, Feckless, Iconoclastic, and Obstinate. Brief Background Information: The amalgamation of Ford Carmichael and Lucy D’Aubigne was something that the aristocratic, gilt-edged populace of Asheville, North Carolina conceived as unorthodox; Ford proceeded a long and prosperous line of Carmichael generations, while Lucy proceeded nothing but a mother who crafted fruit baskets for the local hospital’s gift shop. Still, the noble of Asheville’s ostracism towards their marriage didn’t hinder either Ford or Lucy in the slightest – the two lovers went on to produce their first son, Rod Matthew, two years after holy matrimony. Then, enter the coincidental affair. Joining America’s almost overbearing statistical data for the rate of divorce, Lucy filed for one the night after discovering her husband getting hot and heavy with one of the hospital’s young interns in their own house. Ford attempted to explain – but I thought you weren’t going to be home until ten? – but Lucy would have none of it. The custody battle to follow was surprisingly easy; Ford almost seemed submissive to Lucy’s attack. By the time it was over, Ford had no son and Lucy was on her way to Vermont to stay with her parents. It took only a year for her to find another husband: Hunter Hollenbeck, one of Burlington’s most wealthiest. Unlike most children, Rod adapted to his stepfather quite well, and it’s even asserted that, along with the divorce, Hunter was that adverse affect on Rod’s personality that morphed Rod from a convivial, charming young man to the manipulative, calculating asshole who was voted Most Likely To Get Hit By A Car By An Ex-Classmate by the time his senior year in high school rolled around. The rest is unimportant: Rod applied for college, Rod got denied from almost every college, (apparently a 2.8 GPA no longer suffices, scoffs Rod) Rod got into NYU because Hunter donated over a million to the Arts and Sciences department, and Rod will be an International Relations major in the fall that will most likely fail every class he schedules himself for. PB: Steve Sandvoss ![]() Taken By: Kiss_Me_Kate323 Name: Skyler Davids Age: 18 Year: Freshmen Major: Journalism and Mass Communication Original Roleplay: Deconstructing Venus Theme Song: Maybe Tomorrow - Stereophonics Personality: Calculating, Chivalrous, Honorable, Indulgent, Reticent, and Sympathetic. Brief Background Information: When Skyler was just a baby, his father left him and his mother. With a young child and nothing to offer him, Victoria Davids was stuck. During the day she worked as a nurse at the local family practice, and during the evening as a gas station attendant, just trying to give Skyler what he needed both materially and emotionally. After a few years of this, Victoria decided that she had had enough. So she quit her second job and used the spare time studying different systems of multi-level marketing, she tried e-bay, real estate, you name it, she tried it. Finally, after a few more years, she decided to right a motivational book about everything she had learned about money, and a little internet business to go with it. Her book was a best-seller, she made millions off that, followed by her business’ worth multiplying plentifully. Skyler and his mom went from not having enough money to pay the the monthly rent to having so much he could pay for the rent of many families in need. Skyler has always been very practical and down to earth, but in the few months he's been in New York, the bounciness he had has seemed to fade. He used to be bright, but facing life is no easy task, he's crawled into a shell and won't let the old Skyler out. His fear of failing at everything like his father has taken over, almost completely. PB: William Moseley ![]() Taken By: FAIT_Accompli Name: Adrienne DeLongpre Age: Eighteen Year: Freshmen Major: Philosophy Original Roleplay: Players 8: Greenwich Theme Song: Don’t Tell Me – Madonna Personality: Candid, Charming, Jovial, Obstinate, Passionate, and Spontaneous. Brief Background Information: The union of Adrienne’s parents joined two of the most affluent and prominent of families on the east coast. Born and bred in one of America’s wealthiest, tucked away communities, Adrienne grew up in a religiously devout and politically conservative family. One might assume that all variables involved would have cultivated the archetypical shallow, silver-spoon toting, spoiled little princess, and it did. It just wasn’t Adrienne. The youngest, Mya DeLongpre happily adopted the role of ruthless, manipulative socialite, while Elizabeth embraced life as the token wild child, and Daniel, Adrienne's younger twin, staggered off into the background as he struggled to find his identity, period. As the oldest, Adrienne was left, perhaps, with the least desirable role of all. For the majority of her short life, Adrienne was the model daughter: beautiful, intelligent, kind, and most importantly, dutiful and obedient. Her parents doted on her, encouraging her younger siblings to take after her, often generating resentment amongst those who wanted to be nothing like perfect, spineless Adrienne DeLongpre. But of course, Adrienne had grievances of her own, fostering from her boredom with the monotony of the Greenwich social scene. David Rodham had been a source of fanatical escape since pre-puberty, and in the fall of her final year of high school, that fantasy took on a whole new level of meaning in true Van Halen, Hot for Teacher fashion. An unplanned kiss after a late night drive confirmed their mutual attraction, but the risk of pursuing anything farther proved too much for David. At least at first. Throughout the next nine months, passions between the two erupted at random intervals, but never as nothing more than sporadic flings. By the end of the year, Adrienne’s frustrations with the restraints of their secret and hardly classifiable “relationship” got the better of her. She left Greenwich and David behind with little explanations, devastating her parents by enrolling in a State school, and worse yet as a philosophy major. PB: Romola Garai ![]() Taken By: In Fair Verona Name: Adelaide Epstein Age: Nineteen Year: Freshmen Major: Hebrew and Judaic Studies Original Roleplay: Players 6: Galveston Theme Song: "Breathe Me" - Sia Personality: Apprehensive, Docile, Modest, Virtuous, Benevolent, and Introspective. Brief Background Information: Adelaide Epstein was raised in a traditional Jewish household. Although not zealots, her parents were strict about where their little girl was and who she was with. Which, typically wasn't a problem because Adelaide didn't do the "social" thing much in high school. At least up until her junior year when unexpectedly one of the most popular boys in her class started paying attention to her. Though nothing ever became it (and looking back on it, Adelaide thinks it may be best that way), it did help little Adelaide out of her shell - a necessity, given what was to come in the next year. The Epstein family began to break apart, due to Adelaide's sister's scandalous affair (with a fellow female teacher) and her brother's reckless promiscuity in college, and eventually the death of her irritable yet beloved Nana. With her parents (the arranged marriage that could) fighting over the series of events, Adelaide found herself to be the only relatively sane person left in her house. Being the closest to her Nana, prior to her death, Adelaide sought it upon herself to fix the family and live the way her Nana would have wanted her to - with faith. Then get as far away as possible from her crazy family. Thus, NYU. PB: Rachael Leigh Cook ![]() Taken By: BCD Name: Carys Gianokos Age: 17 Year: Freshman Major: Fashion Design Original Roleplay: Players 5: New York City Theme Song: Maneater / Nelly Furtado Personality: Animated, Lax, Apathetic, Idealistic, Stubborn, and Licentious Brief Background Information: Stephanie Murphy graduated college at the usual age of twenty-two, and the first thing she did was rally up a group of girlfriends to take to Greece. Sitting outside a restaurant at one of those tiny little tables, Stephanie was pleasantly annoyed when her waiter put her alfredo in her lap, as opposed to her table. Ioannes Gianokos was more amused than apologetic, and decided that scribbling his number on the back of her receipt served as an apology; he didn’t get a tip. They spent the next fourteen days sans Stephanie’s friends, giggling at the randomness of their beginning. Though young Ms. Murphy was wary of jumping into a relationship so soon, she did. Ioannes followed her to Pennsylvania for a visit, and they spent almost too much time together, eventually marrying and having their first child, Ruben. Two years later, Carys was brought into the world shortly after the family decided that New York City was somehow an acceptable balance between Pennsylvania and Greece. PB: Britt Koth Taken By: DreamOn777 Name: Jane *Janey* Gregory Age: Seventeen Year: Freshmen - Graduated Early Major: English Original Roleplay: Players 8 Theme Song: "Welcome to the Jungle" by Guns N' Roses Personality: Opinionated,Unsociable,Blunt,Talented,Fiery,Sharp Brief Background Information: The Gregorys are by no means ˜old money. Just a few generations ago they were lower class folks who took care of the family ranch. That was until Gavin Gregory, the so called breakthrough Gregory. He was Janey's grandfather and he was known as the go-getter in a family ˜no-getters. He was a bit crazy, but he was the first adventurous one of the bunch. He tried a few crazy ideas and failed miserably before deciding at the age of 37, with a wife and kids already by his side, to try his hand at acting. He had always been a funny guy and he thought it could actually be his thing. He moved his family out to LA and shopped himself around. For awhile, his new dream seemed like a bust. No one wanted a 37 year old former owner of a ranch who had little to no acting experience. This was when he was deemed ˜the crazy Gregory". But he finally found a job as a sidekick in a Western comedy. The movie was one those C list failures, but his performance earned his raves. In no time, he was getting roles from all over and before he knew it, he was Hollywood's next big thing. This would've bee enough to keep the family going strong, but it was his journey into the world of salad dressings that made him a household name. He was convinced by an old pal to come out with a line of salad dressings from the friend's family recipe. The dressings were addicting and were marketing beautifully. Before long, there was ˜Mama Gregory's Old Fashioned Kettle Corn" and "Papa Gregory'sBarbeque Sauce". It started a Gregory Empire. Janey's father, Dane Gregory has been the vice president of the business since he got out of college.Janey came along a few years after Dane married a gossipy little socialite named Joan.Since then she's caused them nothing but trouble. She cares little about high society, has red hair, has karate skills from when she was seven, has the whole angry rocker thing going on,and really doesn't give a damn about most people. She's used to being stereotyped as 'the hardcore moody femme' and as much as she would like to change people's minds about her,she doesn't have the energy.Anyway, such a girl at this was lucky to not have to be subjected to four years of high school. It all began one day when her high school college counselor pulled her aside and suggested because of pretty amazing grades and writing ability that she apply early to college.Janey provided a shrug, her father bought NYU a computer lab,and the rest if history. PB: Molly Ure ![]() Taken By: MischaFan42 Name: Adam Grillinfield Age: Nineteen Year: Freshmen Major: Film and Television Original Roleplay: -- Theme Song: 'Crooked Teeth' -Death Cab For Cutie Personality: Eccentric, affable, comical, accommodating, debonair, and simpatico. Brief Background Information: Through his many years of always being 'that geek next door', it was no surprise that 'the geek next door' got what he wanted out of life, which was the perfect example of karma. No, he may not have been the Prom King in High School, and no, he may not have had many girlfriends. But Adam was, and is, the best kind of guy. He led on a very normal and natural life, his father amazingly supportive, and his mother that happy-go-lucky kind. He grew up as an only child, so you could pretty much call him the 'Seth Cohen' of New York. He hasn't been through anything life-changing or altering, but he has had his experiance in many departments. Adam is sort of aged beyond his years, but he's still 'the geeky guy next door'. There's many times when he didn't except his life as what it was, never having many friends or peers that actually cared if you died. He went through a rough time his Freshman year, figuring out who he was and what he wanted out of his life. Actually, for a two-month period, Adam was suicidal. He never tried anything, but always find the idea tempting- Just to see if anyone would actually care if he did die. He grew out of the stage, and just started being himself, rather than excluding himself from the world. He made 2 good friends that he kept throughout high-school, and when it was time to move on, grow up, and get into college, he said goodbye like anybody else would. Adam is in film and television- Yes, but it never stopped him from wanting to become the many other things he wants to be, such as an author, a anime artist, an architect, and even a photographer. Adam just wants to do anything that has to do with being behind a camera, or a writing utensil. His life has always revolved around the art of making up someone elses story, or someone elses life. PB: James Franco ![]() Taken By: FAIT_Accompli Name: Blake Lancing Age: Eighteen Year: Freshmen Major: International Business Original Roleplay: Players 8: Greenwich Theme Song: Magazines – Brand Nizzle I mean New Personality: Ambitious, Depraved, Forthright, Proud, Shameless, Shrewd. Brief Background Information: Having been raised in an upstanding, loving, and respectable family, many people have come to wonder where it all went wrong with Blake. Although Blake’s father would tell you his ungrateful son did it all to spite him, the truth is far less convenient. The comfortable lifestyle the Lancings had grown accustomed to wasn’t without its sacrifices, and Blake’s debauchery is merely a byproduct of the hard work that keeps two loving parents away from their child for extended periods of time. Robert and Lynn Lancing weren’t neglectful in the conventional sense; they were around for birthdays and every evening for dinner, and so long as Blake was producing respectable enough grades, they assumed naively their son was staying out of trouble. Imagine their surprise when a phone call informed them their son had been expelled for drug possession and trafficking at one of the West Coast’s most prominent Preparatory schools. The scandal grew when Blake’s partner-in-crime was revealed to be the Headmaster’s daughter. In an attempt to save face, the Lancings moved across the country, into their summer home in Greenwich, Connecticut. Blake was enrolled in a local public school and was warned if he didn’t behave, he could look forward to finishing off his high school career in Military school. Needless to say, Blake spent most of his senior year under the radar and managed to graduate with sufficient enough grades to earn him a spot on NYU’s roster in the fall. How long he’ll remain on his “best behavior” in the wake of his newfound freedom remains to be seen. PB: Ian Somerhalder ![]() Taken By: MischaFan42 Name: Louise 'Issy' Moulin Age: Eighteen Year: Freshmen Major: Dance Original Roleplay: Deconstructing Venus Theme Song: 'By Your Side'- CocoRosie Personality: Optimistic, promiscuous, pessimistic, gregarious, obnoxious, and amorous. Brief Background Information: Through the many bumpy, and unexpecting jolts Issy had been pulled through all of her life, she's still alive- Which says a lot. She actually got in touch with her father, who is residing in Boston for this past year. He sent his love and even more of his money, yet Issy is still incomplete due to the fact that she never technically had a father. Her mother gave up her authoring profession, which has left the two of them quite in the 'hole', of no money, of course. Issy thanks God that she even has a father, or else she couldn't have made her dreams come true- Attending NYU. Though Issy has never committed to anything in her life- Dance has always been that one thing. So, why not major in it? Issy can't complain about anything actually terrible happening to her, which is actually a first because of her extremely pessimistic side. She's forever changing her moods, so there is no telling whats going through her mind when she says one thing, and means another. So, Issy is basically unattached (as her complete usual), and actually fufilling one of the dreams she has had since she was a little girl. PB: Mischa Barton ![]() Taken By: In Fair Verona Name: Mason Pembrooke Age: Nineteen Year: Freshmen Major: International Business Original Roleplay: Players 7: Chicago Theme Song: "Tristan" - Patrick Wolf Personality: Antagonistic, Malevolent, Narcissistic, Unremorseful, Egocentric, and Evil Incarnate. Brief Background Information: Mason Pembrooke wasn't necessarily a homecoming king at his high school. In fact, the more accurate term (at the risk of being trite) would have been "dark prince". Mason Pembrooke's reputation being described as "shady" is an understatement, though those who never truly knew him would never know all he was capable of (just ask Aimee Vassar, if you're curious). He played the cat to her mouse all year long; when she finally relented, he initiated his plan to dispose of her after use - and he did so, without a hint of remorse. You see, Mason is selfish and evil. Not your typically run-of-the-mill full-of-it high school boy, selfish. Not your mom's misunderstood, and not your Disney-Villain evil. Mason's breed of awful is one which cannot be swayed nor eliminated by an unpretentious and sweet church girl or a timid and reclusive bookworm (nor does he like them that way). He only looks for himself and his own self-interest, screwing over all others in the way. Even his mother's own happiness was exempt from Mason's domineering attitude. When, despite his best and most childish efforts to keep his mother and biological father separated (he was a poor, ugly, quack - you'd want him gone too), they reconciled anyway, Mason slammed the front door of the Pembrooke estate loudly, took his inheritance, and relocated to New York. His mother stills sends letters, though Mason never replies (she's dead to him). Apparently they've settled in Greenwich and he's now got disgusting, bouncy, baby siblings. Whom he'd very much like to spike. Because babies aren't cute but rather gross, dispacable little vermin. Which pretty much sums up how Mason feels about all of humanity with the exception of himself (he's clearly a god amongst men). PB: Cillian Murphy ![]() Taken By: x*Brooke*x Name: Darhia Tealey Age: Eighteen Year: Freshman Major:Fine Arts Original Roleplay: Players 8 Theme Song: The New Year By Death Cab for Cutie Personality: Hostile, Hesitant, Sophisticated, Fragile, Complex Brief Background Information: Ever since the early age of two she’s been around porn stars and photographers, only because her mother’s one of the most famous porn stars at the moment. She’s made millions of men happy (or maybe even women) through her vocal cords and strange movement. Both the curious young and the lonely old have developed a way of leaving millions of disturbing things at the front of her house. It’s sad to say that by the time Darhia turned ten she was used to it, but by the time she entered junior high where puberty started it would take years to get used to the kind of bullying she got. It was a night in may when her mother came home to find Darhia on the bathroom floor with blood around her. The blood from her wrists was still flowing and with a quick trip to the ER room she was saved with a bill and a huge amount of money to keep everything confidential. Thankfully, no one else found out about her suicidal attempt, but it was enough to scare her mother into transferring her from private school to the public school. She started at Greenwich High School in grade eleven, and spent her last two years until graduating with extra courses. It was also senior prom when she witnessed a classmates death, which still is carried along with her. The accident changed her perspective and some of her frigid personality turned sullen. She got accepted into NYU and inrolled into the fine arts, seeing the more beauitful things in life rather then the depressing. Played By: Keira Knightley ![]() Taken By: Sundance Kid Name: Holly Threakston Age: Nineteen Year: Freshmen Major: Fine Arts Original Roleplay: Players 6: Galveston Theme Song: Silent Shout – The Knife Personality: Complex, Skittish, Impulsive, Capricious, Open-minded, and Ingenious. Brief Background Information: To Holly, her parents had always been the only two perfect persons in the world. They had been the only two persons that always made the right decisions, that always had the right opinions about things and most of all they had been the only two persons that would always, under any circumstances, love each other. As Holly grew up however, it eventually became clear that the main reason for her parents sticking together accepting each other was their daughter. They had put all their energy and spare time into making Holly feel good and grow up safely that when they were not allowed to take care of her anymore they started to realize that they perhaps did not live the life they wanted to live. More importantly, they did not spend it with the right person. The escalating fights and arguments concerning the smallest of things finally led to the point where a divorce seemed like the only possible solution for the situation. The process was relatively smooth, at least in comparison to other divorces, and was set in stone just a few weeks before Holly graduated from high school. The family house in Galveston went out for sale since none of the three family members felt that they wanted to stay attached to what used to be the perfect lie, and Holly escaped to New York City as quickly as she could in an attempt to avoid siding with either of her parents. She left behind not only her parents but everything she had ever known, and so far she considers it to be the best choice she has made to date. PB: Jena Malone ![]() Taken By: *Sarahrooie * Name: Celia Waterman-Lee Age: Eighteen Year: Freshman Major: Art Original Role Play: Players 5: NYC Theme Song: -- Personality: Expectant, idealistic, eccentric, vehement, opinionated, melodramatic. Brief Background Information: Celia Waterman-Lee’s high school career seems like something from one of those pulpy books written for fifteen-year-old girls. Things started fairly clichéd, the only child of two aging hippies who allowed their daughter to put holes in her face. With such a home life it wasn’t really surprising that Celia’s dreadlocked head could often be found resting against a desk in the back of a classroom. Celia was the stereotypical disenchanted youth who more often that not whiled away hours by making somewhat snide comments about her peers. You’d expect that someone like Celia would probably get through her school career with gritted teeth, doing her very best to remove herself from school life. Which is why the world was rather surprised when Celia Waterman-Lee got herself nominated for Homecoming Princess her junior year at high school. Celia was surprised. It seemed to be somewhat of an anomaly, Celia wasn’t supposed to be taking her place in the high school hierarchy, and she was supposed to be against such social conditioning. Of course Celia was still Celia, just now Celia was Celia with a few more friends. It was probably this event that started the transformation of Celia Waterman-Lee. During her senior year Celia found herself turning away from the disenchanted and finally finding her way. Which was a rather good thing because teenage angst after high school is never a pretty thing. Celia threw herself in art in particular, although this might have meant that instead of being that freaky rude girl she was the freaky art girl. But hey, that’s Celia. She lives to be eccentric. Even if she did comb out the dreadlocks. Another thing that will never change about Celia is her love for the city she was born in. It was never a question of if Celia would be going to university of New York. She could never bring herself to leave the city that she had grown up in. PB: Ella Hooper ![]() Taken By: dreamboat 370 Name: Shelby Whitby Age: Eighteen Year: Freshman Major: History Original Roleplay: Romeo & Juliet Theme Song: Walking on Broken Glass - Annie Lennox Personality: Introverted, Naive, Gullible, Earnest, Oblivious, Fastidious Brief Background Information: Torrid high school romance hasn't changed this salvation-army-sweater-wearing, founding-fathers-quoting, national-geographic-reading nerd in the slightest. Fine, torrid is pushing it at best. It was more like a cutesy relationship that hardly progressed past a bit of kissing and fondling, mostly due to each kid's overwhelming insecurity. But it was a fairy-tale love while it lasted, before Jerry was accepted to Stanford and she to NYU. Some teary-eyed hugging and promises to keep in contact through text-messaging later, and the fling was over before it had even started. Shelby swears constantly (mostly to herself) that he was her one true love, and that no other man could hope to compare (though she may or may not conveniently forget all about Jerry upon glancing to her multiple Robespierre and Lord Byron pin-ups) so since then, she's taken a vow of celibacy. Not that she'd ever be able to take off her own shirt in the company of another person, anyway. Aww, teenage modesty. A long forgotten concept, it seems. But I digress. Shelby's now a freshman with the intent to major in History, keen on becoming one of those frumpy old people yammering about the battle of water-loo on those history channel television shows. All she needs now is a barely intelligible british accent and some dangling neck skin. Reach for the stars, Shelby. Reach for them. PB: Mena Suvari ![]() Taken By: In Fair Verona Name: Blakeley Yorke Age: Eighteen Year: Freshmen Major: Graphic Design Original Roleplay: Players 8: Greenwich Theme Song: "Little House" - The Fray Personality: Peculiar, Cynical, Sardonic, Eclectic, Arcane, and Perceptive. Brief Background Information: Two types of people reside in Greenwich, Connecticut. There are the wealthy entrepreneurs and affluent old-money families, and then there are those who work for them. Blakeley's family falls into the latter subdivision. Ever heard of Yorke Pools? If you've ever lived in the Greenwich community, you probably have, you just didn't bother to remember the logo on the shabby looking truck parked in your expansive driveway. Blakeley's dad has the wonderful job of unclogging peroxide blonde hair out of pools (and fixing other aquatic mishaps). Which, naturally, always came back to Blakeley at school. "...And I was like, Dad, why couldn't you hire a hot pool boy? Not some gross old loser." Which probably explains why Blakeley was by no means very social. Though she had three close friends - Katherine, Janey, and Roy, most of her friends existed online, considering that Blakeley most often found herself online in her free time and doing sleuth-work with her best friend Katherine on the side (well, if by sleuth-work you count designing their web-site). In retrospect, Blakeley thinks the whole anti-social act is actually a pretty good strategy when you're poor. People don't earn scholarships by getting wasted and dry-humping everything they see. Well, if it's a football scholarship, then - perhaps. However, that's why Blakeley isn't going to college in Texas. PB: Camilla Belle ![]() Columbia University Students Taken By: In Fair Verona Name: Levi Davidson-Pembrooke Age: Nineteen Year: Sophomore Major: Political Law Original Roleplay: Players 5: New York City Theme Song: "Watch The Sky" - Something Corporate Personality: Debonair, Pragmatic, Eloquent, Intellectual, Charismatic, and Persistent. Brief Background Information: The story of Levi Davidson-Pembrooke is the stuff that New York Times best-selling autobiographies are made of - he's a modern day Heathcliff minus the pyscho-revenge deal. Boy is born as a bastard son. Boy is raised by negligent grandmother. Boy travels to America to find his real family upon his grandmother's death. Boy meets his brother. Boy meets his brother's girlfriend. Boy's brother's father passes away and boy's brother returns to Britain. Boy is left with his brother's girlfriend. Boy has affair with his brother's girlfriend. Boy's brother returns and discovers said affair. Boy's brother's girlfriend chooses his brother. Boy's brother refuses to speak to him. Boy, left with nothing, returns home to Britain. You get the idea? After returning to Britain, Levi used his inheritance to enroll in Oxford University. Due to the fact that fact that the prepatory school he graduated from functioned on a different system, Levi was a year ahead of most Americans his age. Thus, after a year of failed phone calls and un-returned letters, Levi took it upon himself to fix things between him and his brother, Cedric, in person. He applied and transferred his credits to Columbia University in New York - just across the way from where his brother was attending school at New York University. He can only hope that the saying "time heals all" has some legitimacy to it, otherwise he's screwed. PB: Hugh Dancy ![]() Taken By: FAIT_Accompli Name: Aimee Vassar Age: Nineteen Year: Freshmen Major: English and Comparative Literature Original Roleplay: Players 7: Chicago Theme Song: The Dope Show – Marilyn Manson Personality: Capricious, Cautious, Nihilistic, Paranoid, Surly, Volatile. Brief Background Information: Jackson Vassar made a name for himself by fighting the war on drugs on the home front, and was instrumental in cleaning up Chicago’s inner city. While his efforts succeeded in mending relations between many families that had been torn apart by substance abuse, he failed to recognize the war he was fighting outside had somehow managed to infiltrate his home. What started out as amateur experimentation behind closed bedroom doors to help pass the time gradually progressed into a full blown addiction. By the time Aimee was sixteen, she and her friends had experimented with just about any illicit substance they could get their hands on (which was made possible due to an indispensable amount of money they had access to thanks to their trust funds.) It would appear that the only thing that could jar Aimee out of her self-destructive habits would be some form of a tragedy, and that tragedy came in the form of a drug overdose. Aimee survived, but her boyfriend wasn’t as fortunate. She sobered up with the help of a rehabilitation program and her parent’s support, but in place of a drug dependency, Aimee adopted a jaded and reclusive disposition that remained unchallenged for nearly two years. Enter Mason Pembrooke. Aimee didn’t have any illusions about his debauched courtship, but used it to her own advantage whenever she saw there was something to gain from it. In spite of her best efforts, Aimee eventually warmed up to Mason, a severe lapse in judgment she would later learn. After nearly three years of hard-maintained sobriety, Mason stole it back from her on prom night, amongst other things. Once stoic and apathetic, Aimee emerged from that evening nursing an anger like no other she has ever know before. Consequently, she got into her first school of choice, Columbia University, and left for Columbia’s summer program without even bothering to wait around for graduation. PB: Christina Ricci ![]() Others Taken By: tableofhearts Name: Rafe Carmichael. Age: Twenty-One Occupation: From your bartender to your coffee barista. Original Roleplay: Players 6: Galveston Theme Song: Chasing Cars | SNOW PATROL Personality: Fickle. Monotonous. Passive. Aloof. Pessimistic. Insensitive Brief Background Information: Rafe lived a sheltered life in Galveston. Everyday was as unless and tedious as the next. Rafe was the typical high school jock who had everything he could imagine. Girls threw themselves onto him, he had so many friends that he forgot most of their names and money up to wahzoo. On the exterior everything looked to be perfect for Rafe, unfortunately this wasn’t good enough for Rafe. He wasn’t attracted to the females, hated his friends and the so called money up to wahzoo was non existent. Rafe, to his disgruntlement was attracted to Ian Ellsworth, the token homosexual at their high school. Soon enough, the attraction turned into secret meetings and then eventually into a romance. However, no ending are ever happy for Rafe, after confirming his love for Ian, Ian left him. Hurt, bitter and bruised Rafe picked up and left Galveston, after one year of community college Rafe decided to make his way to New York. PB: Brendan Fehr. ![]() Taken By:x*Brooke*x Name: Peter Grace Age: Nineteen Year: - Major: Manager at the Local Coffee Shop. Original RolePlay: Players 6 Theme Song: Set The Fire to the Third Bar By Snow Patrol Personality: Reserved, Sarcastic, Aggravating, Awkward, Offensive Brief Background Information: Peter Grace didn’t grow up with a truly dysfunctional family, nor did he grow up in an extremely rich environment. Not saying he’s dirt poor, but his parents are average in the wealth department and they live in an apartment down town. Peter hadn’t always lived in that small apartment; he actually lived in a huge mansion with a butler. Even though his parents weren’t rich, his grandmother sure was. Two weeks after he was born the happy couple, Daniel and Mary Grace spent all night displaying their options and emotions and in the early hours in the morning they figured out everything. Mary thought Twenty-Four was much to young to give your full life up to a child, and that they simply were not ready for the commitment. While Daniel found out that he actually didn’t like kids, let alone screaming, crying ones. So they sent little Peter Grace to grandmas house, for the next Sixteen years of his life. Of course he occasionally got phone calls, wishing him a happy birthday or asking how his day went. But the phone calls seemed to disappear more and more once the years went by. On his sixteenth birthday he got a phone call from his parents, asking him if he’d like to come live back with his parents since they decided to finally settle down and they want their “little” boy back. She presented the idea like a choice, but it didn’t matter what Peter and his grandmother wanted they’d take Peter back to their apartment kicking and screaming if they had to. A year after being forced to live with the parents he grew to hate, he went over on his daily walk to grandma’s to notice ambulances all around the house. Grandma Grace (as he called her) died of a heart attack in her kitchen. That devastated Peter, and a two and a half years later it still lingers in his heart. He moved to New York to get into the city life. Played By: Tobey MaGuire ![]() Taken By: tableofhearts Name: Tierney Pembrooke. Age: Eighteen. Year: Senior at the School of America Ballet (ranges from ages 8 to 18). Original Roleplay: Players 6. Theme Song: Personality: Delicate. Graceful. Affable. Pleasant. Prestigious. Elegant. Privileged. Brief Background Information: Tierney was fortunate enough to be born into the affluent Pembrooke family. Anything she ever wanted was handed to her on a silver platter and she never had to work hard for anything in her life. However, Tierney was lonely, she spend her whole life with her cousins and never had any real friends. The clichéd lonely rich girl act followed Tierney throughout Junior high. It wasn’t until high school that she was blessed with the Pembrooke looks, which helped Tierney’s confidence grow. It was then Tierney’s attention turned to a young, poor Spanish boy by the name of Hadrian. Hadrian wasn’t exactly what the Pembrookes would call their type of person. He was poor, lived in a small home with numerous siblings and his brother wasn’t exactly the most noble of people. Nevertheless, Tierney fell in love and wasn’t as lonely anymore. Her father frowned upon her new found relationship and tried to rip the couple apart. It was only until her father organized that she would be accepted into the School Of American Ballet (which she thought she got into from her talents) that she finally left Texas and made her way to New York City, leaving Hadrian and her heart behind. | I went searching for profiles from years ago, but I only found one, and I remember her well, so I'm bringing her back. But I'm changing the PB. And you all have no care for any of this, so I'm really just a reserving a spot, if you don't mind. Por favor. __________________ Flying along...I Feel like I don't belong...I Can't tell right from the wrong...why Have I been here so long? | |||

| I'm so joining. And I think I'll bring back Holly Threakston, because I didn't play her that much and she was fun (mad, but fun). Oh, and I would also like to take Dr. Barnett05's girl, if that's alright? __________________ Makes it kind of quiver down in the core 'Cause you're dreamin' of them Saturdays that came before And now you're stumblin' You're stumblin' onto the heart of Saturday night Last edited by Sundance Kid : 05-31-2006 at 02:09 PM. | |||

| I'm definitely returning for this. I have missed you all! I don't even know who I want to bring back. If someone would be kind enough to hit me up for possible storylines, or anything you need, let me know! I'm up for just about anything. That, and I really have no ideas. __________________ too little too late but we can't say no, it's too much to feel, tie my right hand to the bible. | |||

The RP typically functions as a means to bring back old characters you've played in another roleplaying game. Since most of the other games on this board take place in high school, this serves as a continuation on your character's story, in college. The game which most of the characters come from are the Players games which Letty created, so she's just created a timeline to tell how old your character should be depending on which players game they came from, if they are from Players. Of course, you can bring in a character from any other roleplay or just make a new character. __________________

| I'm in, I'm using Olivia(Emmy Rossum) from the Dominate, I never got to play her. And I'm not sure about my guy. Before the crash, my computer died, and I lost all the old profiles I had saved. So I might just make a new one. __________________ 'cause love doesn't hurt so i know i'm not falling in love i'm just falling to pieces | |||

That's perfectly fine. ROBBS. YEY. We will have to talk at some point. And I am entertaining the idea of bringing back Parker, my lovable alcoholic. Or possibly Stone Young, my irrational basket case. But I'm still taking suggestions. And I just found a new picture of Samaire Armstrong that's just begging to be used, so I think I'll bring back Faye Beaupre as well, assuming someone out there is willing to take my guy? __________________ She built a skyscrapper of procrastonation And then she leaned out the twenty-fifth floor window of her reply And she felt like an actress, just reading her lines When she finally said "yes, it's really goodbye this time." | Well since I don't think I can go wayy back and get my old characters from long time ago, maybe I could just make some new ones, how does that sound? And so, if you haven't played this game before or whatever, should I just pick one? Or what? Maybe this game is too complicated for me... :X __________________ Danni Lost & all alone, looking for a reason to be in this crazy world.

| It's really not a complicated game, I promise. If you'd like to make completely new characters, you're perfectly welcome to. ![]() Taken By: FAIT_Accompli Name: Blake Lancing Age: Eighteen Year: Freshmen Major: International Business Original Roleplay: Players 8: Greenwich Theme Song: Magazines – Brand Nizzle I mean New Personality: Ambitious, Depraved, Forthright, Proud, Shameless, Shrewd.
