Centered right in the heart of New York City, Greenwich Village, studying at New York University does not just pit you in the hands of the school, but of the entire city itself.

Students of New York University don’t just prepare for life during their four year stay, they embark on a new life the second they step foot on the expansive campus. Vibrant and lively, NYU is constantly changing, constantly evolving, and naturally it encourages its students to do the same. Consisting of a total of fourteen colleges and Universities, NYU offers something for everyone and it’s wide variety of educational majors draws in people from all over the world.

While our story centers around the students involved vigorously in their studies at NYU, it’s main focus is their lives, and how both the school and the city weave their ways in and out of their lives. When you live in the city that never sleeps and you study at one of the finest and most reputable of institutions in the world, life never stands still, and more importantly, the people never stand still.

This story is about the relationships and the connections formed during college. It’s about the keg parties and the sororities. It’s about the classes and the professors. It’s about friends, and lovers, and adversaries. It’s about the ups and the downs, the heartaches, the challenges, and the changes. It’s about the good and the bad, the right and the wrong, the mistakes and the opportune chances sometimes taken and sometimes not.

Most importantly, it’s about life, and the choices that come with it.

Additional Information:
The inspiration behind this game was always to bring back characters from previous games that have gone defunct that we enjoyed playing in the past. People are not limited to bringing back old characters, so if anyone wants to create brand spankin' new characters, feel free to do so. This is also a bit of a sandbox game. I won't necessarily be organizing "events" for all characters to attend. Any events I suggest in the first post will be entirely optional as the whole city is pretty much at our disposal.

Rules:
- I won't enforce a boy/girl rule unless I notice we are getting a larger ratio of one over the other.
- This is a mature game. Mature things will happen (Yes, I borrowed that from Mandy!)
- Death happens in life. If you feel like abandoning a character, let us know and we may be able to arrange something fantastically tragic to happen to them.

- Amanda's father died when she was sixteen, an event that dramatically shaped her future. Her desperation for male comfort caused her to unwisely cling to the first boy who showed her interest. On a surface level he appeared to be the perfect gentleman, a white knight able to save her from her grief. Despite her mothers objections Amanda married at age eighteen and left town without giving her decision a second thought.
- Amanda began to battle guilt six months into her marriage. She had not only left her mother, but her little sister Mallorie. Amanda worried for her well being and realized how selfish she had been. When she expressed her concerns to her husband and suggested moving close to her loved ones, he immediately rejected the idea. Something in his tone of voice caused Amanda to drop the subject indefinitely. Three years passed before Amanda's perfect wife routine shattered. Exhausted from walking on eggshells around her moody husband, she gave him an ultimatum: counseling or divorce. Her husband gave her a black eye in response.
- Amanda stayed in her abusive marriage for thirteen years. Not having gone to college, she had no way to support herself and felt trapped. In ways, she believed she deserved the poor treatment she received. This twisted mindset lasted until a neighbor witnessed her husband backhanding her in their garage one evening. The neighbor, as it turned out, had been in an abusive relationship in her twenties before finding the strength to break free. She told Amanda about community college classes and a self defense course in town. Amanda earned her teaching degree and black belt in two years. She taught night classes and saved money for a full year before serving her husband with divorce papers and a restraining order. She moved to New York City to teach full-time shortly after.
- It has been four years since Amanda left her husband and took charge of her own life. To her relief, he has not tried to contact her. The fear of him returning still looms in the back of her mind but she refuses to dwell on it. Amanda refuses to acknowledge that part of her life at all. Denial is a powerful, albeit unhealthy, coping mechanism. No one in her new life knows about her past and she prefers to keep it that way.
- Amanda's world was shaken two weeks ago when her younger sister called after two years off the grid. Mallorie asked for money, but Amanda offered her a place to stay instead. It is her sincere hope to use this opportunity as a way to finally get to know her sister and make up for lost time.

-Avalon was extremely cynical in high school and only a few people in school seemed of substance,like Sidalie Bradford. People like the O Connell's and Laken Knowles pissed her off and made her fear for mankind. The new generation of students gave her hope and she's spent time since her undergraduate years making sure that feminism isn't all bad and they need to tell people off when it comes to ****-shaming,the concept of a bitch and hosts campus events.
-In college, Avalon became fully aware of her sexuality. She left her lover two years ago because even if she realized that she was bisexual,she had never met anyone she wanted to have a relationship. While it was difficult, she realized that she wanted to be with women, not men.

- Leo fell in love with New York quickly, although found the culture in Columbia a little too intense, which was why he decided to move to NYU for his graduate studies.
- New York City changed Leo a lot, and without doubt turned him into a little bit of a hipster. While he'd obviously deny it, his fixed gear bike, record collection and opinions on coffee instantly mark him out.

Seven years later and Lucas is still not over his two timing high school sweetheart, his perception of the opposite sex forever and irreversibly colored with skepticism and mistrust.
- From his mother, a successful book publisher, he inherited a love for literature and from his father, a now retired colligate scout, an unbridled love for college football. Consequently his bookshelves are chalk full of a seemingly contradictory assortment of old hard cover books and USC memorabilia.
- Earned his B.A. in Comparative Literature at the University of Southern California and would have continued on with their graduate program if not for yet another messy and tragic heartbreak. This time it was not enough for him to move several states away; he had to move clear across the country.

A senior trip out to Big Sur changed that for her, forcing her to interact in the world without the benefit of a monitor or TV screen to hide behind. At present may or may not be secretly pining for a certain Kentucky born, chocolate-flavored Moonpie loving boy she unintentionally befriended on said school trip that she may or may not have intentionally lost her virginity to.
- Moved into her own apartment following graduation from high school, and attended city college in California for two years before transferring to NYU a little over a year ago. Parents divorced shortly after she moved out, revealing they had stayed married for the last five years or so more for her sake than anything else. Father helps pays for her tuition out of guilt while her mother is currently gallivanting around the world with a boyfriend fifteen years her junior.
- Has her own youtube channel under the name of witchofthewilds91 that is largely popular due to her “Let’s Play …” gaming series in which she does video walkthroughs for various video games including Mass Effect, Dragon Age, The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim, Borderlands, etc.
- Has two cats named for two of her favorite fantasy series of all time: Gimli and Lady Whiskers from The Lord of the Rings and A Song of Ice and Fire, respectively.

- Deacon's birth parents were anything but responsible and loving. He spent his first six years of life living in a grimy trailer park eating canned vegetables for two of his three meals (cereal was the third). His mother was an ex-beauty pageant queen turned junkie, and his father was a playboy cop kicked off the force for drinking on the job. His father eventually left his mother for a stripper and Deacon was handed over to child services when she could not cope. He was adopted by a wealthy family but failed to emotionally connect with them despite their various attempts to earn his affection.
- Deacon uses photography as a coping mechanism and has been taking pictures daily for the past twelve years. He can not image pursuing any other career. To even talk about it would be blasphemy.
- Deacon drinks heavily. It started off as innocent teenage fun, but eventually alcohol became a necessity. Deacon really lost himself in the bottle once he abandoned his high school girlfriend without so much as a goodbye. After dating Maya for three years and promising to go to LA with her, Deacon's insecurities and selfish fears led him to buy a one-way plane ticket to New York City. Although he has not spoken to Maya since breaking her heart, the guilt is constantly beating in his head. Vodka is all that quiets the noise.
- Deacon volunteers at a homeless shelter on the weekends. It reminds him of the filth he was initially raised in. He wants to give back in a small way, although he shares this activity with no one. It would damage his rebel without a cause persona beyond repair.

- Is the proud papa of a computer engineered sim-woman named 'Lila,' whom he utilizes as his primary source of income. Like CleverBot with breasts and a sexier algorithm, she’s a convincing mock-up of your average brainless cam-girl and bilks lonely creeps out of their hard-earned dough for peeks at her digital rack. Might’ve developed her likeness from that of one of his unfortunate room-mates.
- Shares a flat with two other people, though he likely could’ve sprung for his own two months after Lila went online. Having a 100% preference for sausage over taco, however, he relies on the feminine influences around him to shape Lila’s behavior. Because he has absolutely no idea what a heterosexual man might actually be into – beyond vajazzling and tramp stamps.
- Despite being a miserable human being with a propensity for contrary behavior for the sake of contrary behavior, actually has quite the network of friends though none of them he’s particularly close with. They’re mostly ‘getting sauced with’ friends, and not ‘visiting at the hospital’ or ‘helping move’ friends.
- As far as a love life goes, his consists purely of hook up websites and phone apps and never the same person twice. A complication-free lifestyle. His extensive hobby list includes chain-smoking and watching a lot of porn, in between school projects and painfully awful TA work.

- Michael was born and raised in a mob family, which was all his mother’s doing. She passed him off as the son of a mob boss because she did not want her son’s biological father to know about him. He was an alcoholic with a haunted past, but Michael has always failed to realize why allowing a mob boss to adopt him was the better choice. He loves his adoptive father, he even worshipped him at one point in his adolescent life, but Michael’s resentment toward his mother for cheating him out of his rightful birth family runs deep. Deeper than he has ever admitted to anyone, even himself. His real father knows about Michael now and the two have a casual relationship. Too much has happened, unfortunately, for them to connect past that.
- Michael’s biological grandparents are rich and once they found out about Michael, they were constantly showering him with gifts and trying to convince him to join the family business. They were a big influence in Michael choosing to study business at college. His adoptive father thinks he pursued this particular career to earn a good cover story for future mob activities, but Michael honestly isn’t sure which route he will go down. He does not want to disappoint anyone.
- One of the main reasons Michael is considering a professional life of organized crime is his best friend and now girlfriend, Paige Morgan. Her father is a hit man for his dad, and her mother works as a P.I. for the Corinthos organization as well. It’s a family affair and Paige is eager to lend her talents to the business. Her parents forced her to come to school to think long and hard about whether or not she wants to pursue such a risky life style. Paige is one hundred percent sure of it, unlike Michael. Michael is worried that if he doesn’t join her one day he will lose her.
- Michael is crazy in love with Paige and always has been, though he allowed himself to be in denial for the majority of his life. Part of it was fear of rejection, and part of it was not wanting to prove their families right. At the end of his junior year Michael finally said, “To hell with it” and kissed her. Paige eagerly responded and the two spent the summer all over one another. After only three months of dating they are getting an apartment together this semester. Their friends treat them like they are martians because of it, but Michael and Paige could care less. They practically grew up in each other’s homes anyway so they don’t see any problem with their new living arrangements.
- Michael has recently begun to wonder if he suffers from bi-polar disorder. His adoptive father has the disease and Michael saw the signs his entire life. In the last six months, he’s exhibited some of those same signs. He is too ashamed and nervous to talk to anyone about it or confront the issue head on.

Despite that and her mother being private investigator, she and her younger brother had a relatively normal childhood. Well normal other than the occasional kidnapping but given the nature of the business, that was considered normal. Paige was protected as she grew up with body guards and she never thought anything of it because they were like uncles to her.
- As she grew up, Paige was the perfect combination of her parents in looks and personality. The two traits that stuck out the most for her was her knack to be unpredictable and daring. She loved to keep people on their toes and have an adrenaline rush. The police station was a familiar place to her as she aged into her teen years but nothing ever stuck because of her grandmother and aunt, who were both lawyers. She could pretty much get away with everything.
- Naturally, Paige was interested in what her father did. She wanted to be involved with the mob but her parents protested. They didn't want to be involved in that life. It took her a while but she finally broke them down and came to a compromise with them; she had to make it through four years of college then after that, if she still wanted to be apart of it, they would discuses it. It was easy enough to agree with knowing that one day, she could do what she wanted. In preparation for the coming years, she went into international relations.
- Freshman year was a blur for Paige because when she wasn't in class, she was out at parties. It was college, you're supposed to live it up so she did. She decided she would get serious about her schooling after her first year over with and she got her partying out of the way. Luckily, she had someone to keep her on track and make sure she did her school work; her best friend Michael. If it weren't for him, she probably would have failed out already.
- Recently, Paige got into a relationship with Michael and they got a place together. It seems soon but with their history, it makes sense to the both of them. - Mallorie was only six when her father passed away, and for all intents and purposes was raised by a single mother for most of her life. Her older sister would go on to marry two years later, unintentionally abandoning her younger eight-year-old sister to their emotionally absent mother and her string of casual boyfriends.
- Left home for college immediately after graduating from high school following a misunderstanding with her mother. Mallorie entered into a sexual relationship with one of her (very married) college professors during her freshmen year of college. The affair lasted the duration of two terms until she was unceremoniously set aside for another doe-eyed, blonde-haired, fair-skinned freshmen girl. The break-up was devastating for Mallorie, who would go on to stalk her ex-boyfriend/professor until a restraining order was eventually issued, followed shortly thereafter by her expulsion from the school.
- Mallorie wasted little time moving on to the next relationship in her life. It had the same short life-span and doomed flare to it. Mallorie soon fell into a familiar pattern: she would attach herself to older, professionally established and emotionally unavailable men, who drop her the second her investment in the relationship becomes too intense.
- Her last relationship found her stranded just outside of Vegas with only the clothes on her back and fifteen dollars to her name. After nearly two years without having spoken to either her mother or her sister, Mallorie placed a Collect call to her sister in New York City, pleading for a money transfer. She turned up a week later on Amanda Gates’ doorstep. Mallorie has since been crashing with her sister, meditating on bad habits and past mistakes, and reluctantly struggling to turn a new leaf and get her life back together.
- Over the course of seven years has the equivalent of four and a half semesters of college under her belt from five different colleges around the nation. Mallorie has at one point or another in her life declared several different majors for herself including History, Philosophy, Gender and Sexuality Studies and English. Each major was largely a reflection of the man in her life at the time, as Mallorie has a tendency to completely lose herself in her relationships and adopt the interests and traits of the person she is dating. The only thing definitely hers that she has retained over the years has been her love of music and her guitar.

This is a game for people to transplant characters they've played in the past into a setting that presumably makes it possible for old characters from different games to interact in one setting.

A senior trip out to Big Sur changed that for her, forcing her to interact in the world without the benefit of a monitor or TV screen to hide behind.
