ORIGIN OF SPECIES
(From the Outer Limits episode "Double Helix" and "Origin of Species")

In the year 2003 Dr. Ira Novel a professor and Shamen University found a way to activate a dormant gene in a human's DNA and unlock the secrets of evolution. He developed a serum that he decided to inject into his blood. He had nothing to lose because he also found out he was terminally ill. He started to evolve...or at first he thought he did. His brain became bigger and then instinct took over. He needed to get 10 people together, 5 females and 5 males. He made sure they were perfect, in shape, relatively good looking, smart and had had no surgeries or anything. They had to be perfect. And students were excited to get into his class he was considered a genius, he was world known. He got the kids together and put them through a series of trust excersises, even having them take their clothes off in front of one another. Thats when his body started doing even more weird things. Strange shapes took forms on his hand and on his back. He realized his back was a map. So he rounded up the students and they found a door that was being guarded by the government. Dr. Novel and the students convinced the people to let them in and they found a spaceship, a spaceship made of a substance not known to earth, something so hard that it could not be broken through. The Dr. put his hand on the ship's door and the ship took over him. He told the others that there was a species that lived on another planet and they decided to plant some of their dna on another planet to see how they would evolve. The Dr. and the students inculding Dr. Novel's son and his son's girlfriend got on the ship to meet the "aliens" but Dr. Novel was absorbed by the ship because of his illness. Soon the ship started to kidnap the students 2 by 2. Hope (the son's girlfriend) put her hand over the symbol that the Dr. had disappeared into. She started to communicate with the ship but the last 2 students and her boyfriend stopped her because they were scared she would be absorbed too. Then the ship captured them. What seems only a little while later they wake up in a room of the ship together. They feel as if they'd been asleep for a long time. The ship lands and they get off, they're on earth. Only its 250 years into the future, there's no sign of life and they're is a huge graveyard with over thousands of stones showing all the people who died. The students find out that the "aliens" had once lived on earth but had destroyed themselves trying to perfect their dna. They decided to not let the species die by planting new dna on the earth before they all died out. They left the ship and everything as a warning to them so that they could start and new world, one where hopefully they wouldn't have the same mistakes. The students find they must restart the earth's population. The ship took samples of their dna and created about 20 babies (of different races) for them to take care of and repopulate the earth with.

Okay, most of the students don't really know each other so no relationship info (the only people who know each other are Hope and her boyfriend and maybe 2 of the characters). The world isn't COMPLETELY destroyed, there are a few people left who didn't die out, just thought that would make things more interesting. So basically just about them trying to start a new life and restart the human race.
