| [Life, Death, and Honor] Feudal Japan MYOC/PYOC BEFORE you read, please realize... SPOTS ARE LIMITED This is not about hooking up. There's a plot and I'm feeding you a great plot with a silver spoon. Don't mess with me on this one. RP well or I will come after you with a spork. It is feudal Japan where times are simple yet complex all at once. It is 1185 and the feudal kings are slowly coming to power, better known as the Shoguns during the Kamakura period in Japan. Many powerful men are slowly gaining land and territories as if they were small countries and much of the times clashing against one another. Most worshipped of the classes during this time were not the aristocrats but the glorified Samurai who fought for the land that many lived on. These Samurai live for honor under the Bushido code and die for their lord, their land, or their face (honor). Outcast from these clans are the Ninja, those without morals from the Samurai code. Many of which have been banished into the outskirts and bamboo forests of Japan. It is from this that much of the wars begin. First with land disputes or land hungry Shoguns and next to the many Ninja attacks among the territories. With this, the survival of this little archipelago is becoming slowly questionable. Will peace ever be found or is war a perpetual constant in this world? The three Shoguns in Japan who are most prominent include the Takahashi clan, the Kitoshi clan, and the Ryouta clan. The secretive and underground clan of Ninja are known as the Shinobi clan translated as "The Art of Survival". This is a selective group among which would be ruthless enough to kill off one another for the greater good: survival. Those who are not fit to bear the Shinobi name are killed. They are prowlers of the night and mercenaries for hire with enough tricks up their sleeve to last them far beyond their own lifetime. They are silent killers of the night and the perfect assassins. A ship of over a hundred Europeans sail the seas from Russia in hopes of reaching India without any of the European noticing. Perhaps it is to find refuge. Perhaps it is for profit. Regardless, the ship is wrecked upon the shores of Japan and there are only twenty survivors. The ship is beyond repair and these foreigners lack any intent of helping them home. The only hope is for them to assimilate themselves into Japan, whether by choice or force. Shoguns Name: Keiji Takahashi Age: 30 Clan: Takahashi History/Personality: Keiji holds the longest lasting and most powerful clan in the Nihongo region (all of Japan). He is intelligent and a great military mind. He is cautious and careful about where he attacks and at times is a bit sluggish, but his moves take powerful blows and his enemy normally does not last long. As he grew to power he met a woman, Naomi who took his breath away. It was for her that he built his kingdom. It was for her that he breathed for. That he lived for... until of course it all fell apart. That wretched Hiroshi took Naomi from him, hypnotized her in his thrall. It was just as it happened in his childhood... his father's love stripped from him by some... other man. It was a disgusting act that was beyond redemption. Dishonorable. His family life as a child was loving at first. His father was a good father, a Samurai... his mother was dutiful and his life was decent until she was stolen away. From then, his hatred for Hiroshi was... endless. He is a strong and striking man with a vision of one kingdom under one sky. His attacks are swift and though not well thought out, strong and thusforth effective. Raidon believes that it is under the grace of the Shinto gods and nature that he is destined to rule all of Japan. He is a shorttempered man, the son of a Geisha and a criminal, he is attempting to regain his honor by this. His father was never truly a good father, bound by blood ties and honor rather than love, the son of the man who rescued Yuri Takahashi from that hellhole of a family... yes Raidon knew of the Takahashi family and could vomit at the thought of the horrors that the women of the family had be subjected to. He is vigilante and righteous and never lets up. He was never one to be as such. He never fit the perfection that was 'royalty' or 'high class'. He'd rather be a common man. He grew into a great military leader by his generosity and his benevolence. It gave him a loyal and steadfast army of Samurai that helped him gain fame throughout the Nihongo territories. The fact that he was not a man fed by a golden spoon attracted Naomi to him and away from Keiji. He held nothing against Keiji though it seemed Keiji seemed to hold something against him. Who he did hate was Raidon who seemed to hold no honor with his lightning quick attacks and his questionable background. He felt that Raidon had no right to be among the many of the great minds and heroes as well as the prominently rich because he had not earned this right and therefore was not worthy of a Shogun sword. In fact the greatest Shogun leader to date, but alas his downfall was his utter viciousness and his inability to control his insane bloodlust. He wanted revenge. He wanted redemption. He wanted everything and nothing at all. All he could have and all he couldn't. He took without asking, there wasn't any need. Either they would succumb to his charms or be forced by his sword. He is outcasted because he made his own set of morals and principles that did not necessarily follow the Bushido code, like allowing women to train alongside men or doing away with money and currency rather basing life on generosity, barter, trade, and comradeship. His family life was a mystery to all but himself. No one knew. He would never tell. He never did tell. He barely spoke at all. When he did it would be assured that it was defiantly important. All that was known was that the atrocities Ryu had face was beyond any reported domestic carnage known to man... and it was from this that no one could really blame him... his vengeance... the unquenchable thirst... He climbed the ranks slowly with blood, sweat, and tears and finally managed to make his way to the right hand position of the great and famed leader of the Takahashi clan. He is a man pensive and artistic by nature and not usually one to fight unless he is called to by his leader to which he would loyally take up his sword, or unless it was in the name of honor. Like many others, Kin holds honor closely to his heart. Though she followed orders as her father told her and modeled herself after her mother, inside her soul was screaming for a different kind of life. But this was the culture of Feudal Japan. Women were on the same level as a roach and because of that, no one ever took Sei seriously. When she profressed her yearnings and desires to her mother, her mother scolded her and told her that those kinds of thoughts would be the end of her and her family honor. Since Sei viewed her mother as the most understanding in their family, she bit her tongue about it around her father and the rest of their tightly-knit group. However, Sei was persistent in accomplishing her dreams, but inconspicuous about it. She managed to find a Master of Swordsmanship and War to teach her how to fight, though he risked his reputation greatly. This was when she was thirteen. For twelve years, Sei studied underneath this new kind of master and learned all that she could, trying her best to absorb like a sponge. She finished her training and stumbled upon the Shinobi Clan. She quickly proved herself and her fighting skills and was accepted into their society. Because of the necessity to fade into the darkness, Sei has learned to make hardly a noise, if any, when lurking in the shadows. She can remain unseen for however long she wants and can also be as outward as she needs to be. She can blend into the crowd within the blink of an eye and it's easy to lose her if you don't pay close attention. Many have allegorized her with a chamelon of hundreds of thousands colors. She was born into a father with questionable morals whose wife died giving birth to Angel. He was abusive and... well not so honorable. At a young age, Angel ran away becoming a con artist of sorts, a Jill of All Trades, one of many faces... until of course she was caught. From then on options narrowed to run fast... and run faster. Angel found herself on the ship trying to escape from officials from every country known to the European man.
