I’m up for a vampire game, how about you?

Just like in the mortal world, the well-masked society of vampires has social tiers. At the bottom are those poor souls who were turned and abandoned to live in squalor. At the very top exist a very elite and powerful group of vampires known among the ranks of the bloodsucking undead as The Immortal Aristocracy. Each member of the aristocracy has some special quality they either developed over the years or possessed before they were even turned.

The Aristocracy’s wealth is spread all over the world, invested in businesses and other things, but they choose to live in the busy metropolis of New York City. They own a gothic night club, often filled with willing blood donors, and live above the club in posh apartments.

Now something has happened that hasn’t occurred since more than three centuries ago. The leader, the vampire King whose decisions become vampire law, has been murdered. No one knows who did the deed. It is, in fact, very possible that someone within the Aristocracy killed him. The point is, it’s time to choose a new king and many are vying for the position. Also, with the King gone, it’s time to bring a new vampire into the fold to take his place.

It’s a time of change for the Aristocracy and, usually, that means drama.

Notes & Rules
Only a very few characters can be human and those who are human must either be ‘blood donors’ at the Goth club or be special in some way. This can mean that they have a paranormal gift or it can mean that they are extraordinary in a more realistic kind of way. Maybe they’re extremely intelligent. Maybe they’re gifted at a craft.

Cast of Characters

Name: Damon Deverell
Age: 267 / 26
Story: Damon Deverell was welcomed into the Aristocracy when the last King took a romantic interest in him. With no apparent gift other than his looks, some of the Aristocracy took an instant disliking to him and secretly disapproved of him being turned. As it turned out over the years, Damon became one of the most talented as far as ‘glamouring’ goes. He could win over anyone who looked him right in the eyes. Damon, having been the King’s favorite, was expected to try and win the leader’s spot, but he’s perfectly happy living it up like he’s been doing for the past two hundred and sixty-seven years. As far as welcoming someone new into the Aristocracy, though, he has his eyes set on a very special girl.

Age: 139 / 30
Story: Caleb let go of his surname along with his previous identity. He was chosen to be a part of the Aristocracy because he can hear thoughts and communicate with others simply by thinking. He’s a good ally to have if you always want to make sure whoever you are talking to tells the truth. Unfortunately he is not as good reading vampire minds as he is with reading mortal minds. Caleb wants, very much, to be the leader of the Aristocracy.

Name: Anne
Age: Nobody but her knows/19
Story: Little is known about Anne’s past as either a human or vampire before she joined the Aristocracy 200 years ago. Though an English aristocrat by birth and one of the murdered King’s inner circle, she refrains from seeking power because it brought nothing but ruin to her mother’s family. Their infamous name hasn’t been connected to her; however, with the king gone she feels vulnerable. If the truth comes out she will be thrust into the middle of the power struggle. She may lose Damon’s friendship if he realises she doesn’t trust him after two centuries. Standard abilities (speed, glamour etc) improved with age as did her mental shielding. She can weave shadows around herself to hide in and lash out with raw power to injure others. she can also charm whoever she chooses but that is more birthright than unholy power. Caleb’s abilities and ambition means she avoids him whenever possible.

Name: Katherine Louvre
Age: 285/18
Story: Katherine does not remember much about her human life, but she is glad that she doesn’t. What she does remember was that she had no family and no friends, and that she was turned by the King himself. He was her lover, her father, her brother, and her best friend. His death made Katherine bitter and angry, and she wants to find out who killed him and extract revenge. She is suspicious of anyone who wants to take the throne, because any of them could be responsible for his murder. Katherine is heart broken and has been driven mad, making her very unstable and unpredictable. She is also powerful having telepathic abilities and also the ability to make people see things that aren’t really there; an ability she is planning on using to discover the truth.

Age: 249/21
Story: Son of a London tavern keeper, he was changed by a vampire while he was dying of consumption. The vampire rented a room from his father. He’d had a crush on her since she arrived but after his death she became everything to him. Almost 45 years later she disappeared without a trace or any explanation. He moved frequently still secretly hoping to find her but is now resigned to the fact that he’ll never see her again. His special ability is pyrokinesis, controlling fire with his mind. He seeks entry to the aristocracy because he wants somewhere to belong and sees the opportunities that the King’s death has created.

Sorry if this is a bit rough, I haven't written one of these in forever! My charac is a human.

Name: Ariana Suliz
Age: 18
Story: Young, sweet, and ambitious, Ariana was left on the doorstep of an orphanage when she was a baby by unknown people. She has an incredibly mysterious past and ancestry that even she doesn't know about. She moved to New York to try and find her birth parents or any indication of family, and also to become a dancer. After a friend brought her to the gothic night club one night, a meeting with a mysterious woman triggered something inside of her. She began to have what at first she thought were psychotic episodes but were actually abilities beginning to develop shortly after wards. Light would move in strange ways around her and at times sound would distort. Ariana realized she had the ability to control light, fire and sound after people around her began to also notice the strange things. She is going back to the gothic night club to find out why these things are happening to her.
