Flipping his cell phone shut, Cameran slipped it back in his pocket and started back down the hallway to Meredith's room for the second time. He was on his way there roughly ten minutes ago but got sidetracked by a call from one of the guys. He would have just ignored the call since getting to Meredith's room as fast as he could seemed more important given everything..But in light of Caroline's kidnapping, Cameran couldn't ignore a business related call. The matter at hand was far too important and overruled warning Chase about his ex-wife's presence. Continuing towards Meredith's room, the uneasy enforcer was outside her door in less than a minute, thanks to no distractions this time.

Not entire sure what things were like inside, Cameran took a deep breath to prepare himself before entering. Naturally his eyes first went straight to Meredith, a smile dancing across his face at the image of her holding their baby girl. The sight filled him with the kind of happiness he couldn't even begin to explain. When he finally looked to Chase he saw his friends eyes glued on the feisty lawyer standing by Meredith's bedside. Shocker..Not. So much for keeping them apart like he and Meredith had intended. The tension in the room was so thick it could be cut with a knife. Not wanting to interrupt the intense staring contest going on between Chase and ex-wife for fear of getting his head bit off, Cameran decided to take the high road.

He made a bee line for Meredith bedside, stopping when he was on the opposite side of where Taylor was. "Sorry.." He whispered quietly to her as he sat on the side of her bed. "I tried." He told her with small shrug, his eyes falling upon the angel in her arms. "You know she's going to be a dead ringer for you.." Cameran mused, gently touching London's soft cheek. He smiled as he looked back up her mother. "She's not allowed to date until she's thirty.” Meredith seemed amused by his proclamation but Cameran’s face stayed serious. “Seriously…I’m serious.”Tag Meredith

She watched as her brother just nodded his head when Taylor spoke to him and she let out a sigh as she took London back from her friend. She wished that there was something she could do but from her hospital bed, there really wasn't. The worst had already happened and now all she could do was watch the fall out from it. It wasn't going to be pretty.

'She’s amazing. Congratulations beautiful. I’m so proud of you'. "Thank you" She told Taylor with a smile as she looked up to her while settling London back into her arms. She nodded her head alittle bit when she was told that her mother would be there as soon as possible. "That'll be when London's about one" She commented with a laugh. Her mother was off on some adventure with Luke Spencer which meant there was no telling when she would show up.

Speaking of showing up, Cameran came back into the room and headed right for her. He was smart to do that and not get in the middle of Chase and Taylor. She was trying to do the same. Eventually they would probably both have to do some damage control but not at that moment. 'I tried'. "You failed" She whispered back, giving him a little it of a glare. He was supposed to keep Chase from coming into the room. He had one simple task and he couldn't accomplish it. What the hell stopped him from doing it?

She frowned when Taylor said she had to go. This wasn't the reunion that she had pictured having with her best friend. Damn Chase for ruining it. "You're such a work a holic. Don't work yourself too hard while you're here" She stated, giving her friend a knowing look. They had always been opposites that way. Taylor worked alot while Meredith often slacked off. They balanced each other out pretty well.

"Hopefully I'll be out of here today so I'll just text you later and we'll meet up somewhere" She managed to get out before Taylor left. She really couldn't get out of there fast enough it seemed.

The whole world went into slow motion as he watched every move that Taylor made. Between the way her lips moved to how she talked with her hands, his breath was taken away from him. She was so beautiful. He felt like he was dreaming. Was she really there? She had to be really there, right? It wasn't a dream. He was frozen as he watched her. He only started moving once she turned and walked out of the room.

"I'll be back" He mumbled to Cameran and Meredith as his feet took him out the room and after his ex wife. He was too focused on her to even care about seeing Cameran and Meredith together. While the site would usually repulse him, it was the last thing in his mind. He would deal with the two of them now having a baby later. Taylor was soul focus.

"Taylor" He called out, causing her to stop in her tracks half way down the hall. He walked towards her and sucked in a breath as he got close to her. "Wow you ... you look goregous. The years ... they's been good to you" He told her, trying very unsucessfully to string a decent amount of words together to actually make sense. He couldn't talk being around her again. It just seemed impossible.

"How long are you here for?" He found himself asking. She probably won't let him even near her but still, he wanted to know.

'You know she's going to be a dead ringer for you'. She took her eyes off of her brother leaving the room and turned her eyes on her newborn daughter and the man she conceived him with. "You think?" She asked, her eyes looking down on their little girl. She was only a few hours old but she could already see them both in her. It would be anyone's guess who she turned out to look like more.

'She's not allowed to date until she's thirty'. "Sure" She replied, with an amused look on her face. She couldn't believe that Cameron had become one of those type of fathers. She had expected over protectiveness but not to that degree. She found it quite funny. She looked even more amused when he said he was serious. "Oh come on, like we're really going to be able to stop her from dating. She does have your genes, you man whore" She probably made it worse for him just by bringing up that up but that didn't care.

"Do you know anything about Chase wanting to put more guards on me?" She wondered, changing the subject from their daughter to her unfinshed conversation with her brother. Maybe she could convince Cameran that she didn't need the extra guards and he could get Chase to back off. It was certainly worth a try. "I really don't need anymore, Cameran. I already have two" She pointed out, nodding to the door where two bawny men stood chatting with each other. What were their names again? She couldn't really remember at that moment.

'You're such a work a holic. Don't work yourself too hard while you're here.' With a playful roll of her eyes, Taylor smiled down at the new mother. "I am not a work a holic." She insisted with a laugh. "It just seems that way to you because you've never worked a day in your life sweetie." Taylor teased with a careless shrug of her shoulders and her trademark smirk. The truth was what Meredith said wasn't an exaggeration at all. Ever since she became a lawyer she has been married to her work. "I'll try not to." She added, winking at her friend before turning to head to the door. "I'm staying at the Metro Court, suite 27." Taylor called back to Meredith when she told her she'd be released later, without looking back at her. Ignoring Chase completely, she gave Cameran a reluctant wave when he said goodbye and fortunately made it out of the room within seconds.

Finally...Now that she was out of that room and away from ex-husband, she finally felt like she could breath again..Or not. Taylor groaned internally, not expecting him to come after her. He has a new life now..Without her. As far as she was concerned there was no reason for them to talk at all. And yet instead of continuing on her way and not stopping like she knows she should, she did the exact opposite. She stopped in her tracks, turning around to face him as he reached her. This was way worse than just being stuck in the same room with him. At least there she had Meredith and Cameran to focus on but now out here it was just Chase and her..Alone in the hallway, face to face for the first time in over seven years. Seven years might not seem long to some people but to her those seven years away from him felt like an eternity.

'Wow you ... you look gorgeous. The years ... they’ve been good to you.' Chase stammered out. Somewhat amused, Taylor tried to not to smile. Why'd he have to start with the sweet talk right away? Didn't he know how dead set she was on not letting him get to her in all those ways he use to? One week..All she had to do was survive one week and then she could go back to Cali and forget all about this disastrous trip. "You too." Taylor started, unintentionally biting down on her lower lip..Unbelievable. After all these years and the way he looks at her still gives her butterflies. "Actually you look pretty much the same...Other than that hair." Kinking her eyebrow at him, she laughed as she reached forward to feel the ends of his hair. Though the second her fingers touched even just a strand of it she quickly retreated her hand away like it'd been burned. Her walls came back up almost instantly, explaining the attitude she gave him when he asked how long she would be there.

"Why..You afraid your wife's going to find out about me?" Taylor replied in a tone more bitter than she intended. Sighing, she folded her arms and glanced away for a second before looking back at him. “I didn’t come here because of you. I came here for Meredith and that’s all.” She wanted to be clear in saying that her reasons for being there had absolutely nothing to do with him. “I’m not staying for longer than a week so ..You don’t have to worry. I’ll stay out of your way.” Pausing, Taylor inhaled sharply as she glanced down towards the ground for a brief moment in attempt to pull herself together. She would never understand the power he had over her. “You won’t even know I’m here.” Taylor finished, faking a smile as her eyes found his once more.

Offering the brunette a small smile when she left, Cameran watched in amusement as Chase quickly followed after her. The situation wasn't suppose to be amusing but he couldn't help his self. He hadn't seen his best friend this rattled since..Well, never. 'Oh come on, like we're really going to be able to stop her from dating. She does have your genes, you man whore.' Looking back to Meredith when she spoke, he glared and scoffed at her. "Did you really have to go there? Really Mere?" Cameran asked with wide eyes, shaking his head at her. "Did you hear that London?" He asked, smiling down at her. "You can thank mommy for the locks I put on your door when you turn sixteen." Laughing with Meredith, he reached over and gently took their newborn out of her arms, listening as asked about why Chase wanted more guards on her.

'I really don't need anymore, Cameran. I already have two.' She quickly added as she pointed to the doors right outside her door. "No, you need them." He demanded in a voice she knew not to question. As his thoughts went to what happened to Caroline, Cameran looked down at his daughter. He wasn't taking any chances. He wasn't going to let the same thing happen to his baby girl. "It's nothing, don't worry about it." He told Meredith when he looked up to find her staring at him expectantly. She wanted an explanation on why she suddenly needed more guards on her. The thing was..Cameran didn't want her to know. It would only worry her and very possibly even scare her into going back to California like the original plan was. Letting out a soft sigh as he looked at Meredith he realized he couldn't keep the truth from her. She was going to find out anyways so there was really no reason in hiding it.

"You remember Caroline?..You know, Natalie's little girl." He started. Meredith came back to PC for the first time during the time her brothers marriage was on the rocks and he was having an affair. He knew she met Natalie more than a few times during that time but he wasn't sure how familiar she was with her daughter. When she nodded, Cameran let out a deep breath before going on. "Last night...She was kidnapped Mere." The second the words left his mouth as he watched her eyes widen with horror and shock, he couldn't help but wish he could take them back. "Don't worry..Please Meredith, don't get scared and run away again.." Cameran pleaded with her, trailing off as he looked down at their baby. "I'm not going to let anything happen to her..I promise I will protect you both with my life." He nodded softly as he looked back to her. "I'll die before I let anything happen to her."

OOC: More coming tomorrow after work! Sorry Cat couldn't think for Derek tonight but'll be coming soon

OOC: Hey everyone, I have some exciting yet sad news. I've decided to leave Fan Forum and Role Playing entirely. This past weekend I had the privilege of attending the E Women's Christian Conference. While I was there, God really convicted my heart about idols that I had been putting before Him (one of them being the computer and this website). I made a promise tonight to the Lord that I was done placing Him second in my life. I am thrilled to see what He'll teach me and I wish all of you the very best. I will still have AIM so feel free to message me if you ever just want to talk. I've had an amazing five years on this board but it's time to say goodbye. I love you all!

OOC: Thanks for understanding! I just wanted to ask that no one take over my characters in this RP. I created all the roles (minus Ethan) and don't want someone else playing them. I hope that's alright. Wish you all the best!

Derek nodded, a slight smile came to his face as she told him she was glad Serena was okay, going on to say she was a real fighter. "She's not the only one." He whispered as he looked at her with concern. "You were really brave." Derek added with a small smile. Last night he saw a side to Jade he never knew existed. He always knew she was tough but he just hadn't realize just how tough she really was. She was a survivor, if how she handled things at the ball didn't prove that than her being there at the hospital today doing all she could to help most definitely proved it. She was so determined and strong and he admired the hell out of her for it.

'I'm fine...Just shaken up. Honestly.' Jade insisted, but Derek wasn't convinced. You can't be fine if you go through something like what she went through, it just wasn't possible. If his date had been killed or God forbid his sister, there's no way he would even be standing right now. Listening as she told him she didn't want to go home, Derek let out a soft sigh before nodding in understanding. Sometimes busying yourself was the best distraction. 'I need a distraction and I know you're worried but I'm fine and I can work. A little exhaustion never hurt anyone. I can bounce back from this. I don't need to go home.'

Derek sighed softly, reaching for the coffee on the counter to pour himself a cup. "I see I'm not going to convince you to stop working...Then at least take a ten minute break with me. Come on, you need it." He told Jade, pouring her a cop of coffee. "I'm not taking no for an answer." He insisted stubbornly, giving her a small smile as he handed her the coffee. Gently taking hold of her wrist, he pulled her out from behind the nurses center and led her over to the waiting area that was no more than ten feet away from them. Once they reached the two sofas, he let go of her wrist and sat down with her. Taking a small sip from his coffee cup, Derek rested his arm on the back of the couch and leaned back. “What a nightmare that ball turned out to be, huh?” He asked in attempt to break the awkward silence that had fallen down on them. “I’m sorry..” Derek sighed, shaking his head at her. “I’m so sorry about Steve, Jade. I know its no secret that him and I weren’t friends but I never in a million years wanted anything like this to happen to him…I wish I could have saved him.” He closed his eyes and clenched one of his hands into a tight fist, still very much blaming himself for what not being to save their co-worker.

Natalie sat in a chair at the police station with her hands in her lap, fiddling with her bracelet. She was a nervous wreck as she sat their waiting..Just waiting. Always a woman of action, patience wasn't easy for her. She's never felt so much anger and fear at the same time in her life. Her thoughts were constantly fixated on her little girl, the more she thought about who had her and what they were doing to her the more scared she became. Michael left the police station roughly ten minutes ago to pay a visit to some of his contacts and see what he could find out. It helped a little to know he was out there desperately looking for their daughter but she still wanted to be out there too. This doing nothing was ridiculous and so not her. Sitting back and doing nothing wasn't her style and just wasn't going to fly for much longer. Natalie didn't wanna be here answering questions..She didn't know anymore than any of them, she didn't need to be here anymore. Where she needed to be was out there searching for Caroline.

Resting her hand on her forehead Natalie closed her eyes, blinking back fresh tears. The more she thought about how this could be happing the more she wondered if this was her punishment. In her twenty seven years on the planet Natalie has done more than her fair share of wrong things. She wasn't the type of woman she wanted her daughter to be, that was for sure. She's made mistake after mistake and never really seemed to learn from them. She did what she wanted when she wanted, taking Caroline along wherever she went never thinking about the consequences..Never thinking about how the dangerous lives the men she was attracted could affect her daughter. She didn’t care what Michael or anyone else said, this was all her fault. Caroline’s her baby..It was on Natalie to protect her. She took Caroline wherever she wanted to go. She did what was good for her and then she justified it by telling herself it was good for Caroline. She was a terrible mother, she made all the wrong choices and now her baby girl was paying for it..God what she wouldn’t give to be able to fix this. She would give anything..She would give her life if Caroline was just okay and home safe where she belonged.

At the sudden sound of footsteps coming closer to her, Natalie raised her head. She wiped away her tears and stood up from her chair when she saw it was Trent. “Anything?” Natalie asked when she reached him, the urgency clear to in her voice. “Please tell me you found something Trent.” She whispered with pleading eyes, almost afraid to hear what he had to say. His eyes already told her he didn’t know anything but she still had to ask.Tag Trent

"You were really brave."
Jade slightly shook her head. She was not brave. She was far from it actually. Jade was putting up a front. Nobody should know how she was really feeling. She was upset, but she could never allow herself to cry. It showed weakness and she didn't want that.
"I'm not brave at all Derek," she replied honestly. "But, thanks."
Giving him a slight smile, despite everything, Jade had alot of thoughts going through her mind. Maybe if she had gone with Steve instead of mingling in the ballroom, he would probably be alive now and she wouldn't feel so bad.

"I see I'm not going to convince you to stop working...Then at least take a ten minute break with me. Come on, you need it"
Before she could open her mouth, Derek had given her a cup of coffee and gently grabbed hold of her wrist and led her to the waiting room and they sat down. When Derek said how bad the ball had been she nodded in agreement.
"Yeah, it was scary," she replied. It wasn't the right word, but her date died and she wasn't quite herself. Derek had apologised about Steve and she waved them off. "You did the best you could Derek. Everyone did. Steve's injuries were just too bad. If anything, you should blame me. I should have been with him. If that happened then maybe he would be here now."
Jade knew that if that happened there would be a slim chance that she would have made it out alive, but she would have taken that risk.
"I haven't stopped thinking about it since his bloodied body fell on me," she said. "I should have done something. I could have prevented it." she added in a low voice.

It had been a terrible 24 hours. There was the fiasco at the ball and now he was working on a case to find Natalie's daughter Caroline. Trent would do anything to find Natalie's little girl but so far it was all a dead end. He looked at all the paperwork and sighed as he held the phone to his ear.
"Call me when you find something okay?" he said to the person on the other end. "This is important. We have to find her."
He hung up and put his hands behind his head and looked at Caroline's photo. If they didn't find her, or didn't find her alive, he would never forgive himself. Even though he broke the law on a daily basis, that didn't stop him from upholding it. Right now, he was a cop, and that comes first.

Getting up from his chair and walking out of his office, he saw Natalie a few feet away in the waiting area. He made a beeline for her and she stood up, hoping against hope that he had found something. He shook his head.
"We're doing all we can, Natalie," he was honest in his answer and sincere as well. He wished he could find some way to comfort her but no amount of comfort would ever help. She needed Caroline back. "I promise, we will find her. You have my word."

Natalie nodded as he told her they were doing all they could. 'I promise, we will find her. You have my word.' She wanted to believe him so badly but a part of her couldn't help but think the worst. No matter what she did or how hard she tried to push those horrid thoughts to the further, darkest corner of her mind..She just couldn't shake her worst fears. "Words Trent..Those are just words..I can't believe them until I see her again. Until I know she's okay, until she's home safe where she belongs." Natalie cried out, unable to keep her fears and frustration under wraps. Taking a deep breath in attempt to calm her rabid nerves, she opened her eyes to look at the worried detective once more. "You'll let me know if you find anything, right?" Natalie asked, nodding as she continued. "I mean if you find out anything..Who has her or where she is..You'll me right away, right?" Natalie pressed, her eyes begging him to just say yes.

Grateful when he nodded 'yes', Natalie tried to offer him a weak smile but found she couldn't even do that. "Thank you Trent." She whispered, letting out a deep breath. Tucking a few strands of her hair behind her ears, she wrapped her arms around herself as she looked around the busy police station. "Can you do something else for me?" Natalie asked quietly, looking to him again. "Can you take me home?" She just couldn't be there anymore. She didn't want to answer anymore questions or wait around for them to tell her they had nothing any longer. She wanted to go home and try and find some sort of clue as to who could have taken Caroline. They say seventy percent of crimes or something like that are done by someone you know..What if that was the case with her little girl? What if someone she know was responsible for this?

She never even had a chance to look over Caroline's room or the rest of the house yet. When she came home to find her baby missing the first thing she did was call Michael. And then she rushed here to meet him. She needed to go back home and see what she could find. Natalie has never been one to sit back and let other people take care of things, especially when it comes to someone she cares about and Caroline? She's without a doubt at the very top of the list..The most important thing in her life, by far the best thing that’s ever happened to her. She had to get her back, she absolutely refused to lose her..Caroline was out there somewhere and Natalie would do whatever she had to do to find her, no matter what.

'You did the best you could Derek. Everyone did. Steve's injuries were just too bad. If anything, you should blame me. I should have been with him. If that happened then maybe he would be here now.' Derek looked over at Jade as she spoke, both a little surprised and sad to see her blaming herself. There was absolutely nothing she could have done to change last nights outcome of events. There was nothing nobody could have done. And if anyone was to blame at all it was the person who stabbed Steve and Derek, for not being able to save him. Before Derek had the chance to tell her just how wrong she was Jade interrupted, telling him how she couldn't get Steve's bloodied image out of he head. Shaking his head as Jade again said she should have done something, if she was with him she could have prevented it.

"Jade..If you had been with him you might be dead too." Derek whispered with an underlying seriousness in his tone. "What happened to Steve was a tragedy..But your not to blame Jade, there's nothing you could have done." Sighing softly, Derek took another drink of his coffee as he looked away from her for a moment. "I'm sorry I'm probably not helping.." He started as he looked back to Jade. "I know I'm not really good at this..Saying the right thing and all that." Derek admitted with a weak smile. "But if you need anything..Anything at all, I'm here Jade." The two of may not have always gotten along in the past but he'd like to believe it's not because they don't like each other, but because they do and just don't know how to show it. Neither were very good at letting their guard down. But after that happened last night Derek really wanted to be there for her and help her through this. He didn't want her to have to go through it alone..Nobody should have to do that.

OOC: So I'm working on posts now but I have slightly serious stuff to discuss.I've gotten pretty busy.I contemplated leaving FF but I love y'all (and NG/The Cape) too much to do that.I'm going to stay in both rps...but I think I need to cut down on my characters in NG.I really don't have the time for all of them and when I'm behind posts (like now),I get overwhelmed by how many I have to get out.

So! I would like input from you guys about which to drop...and by drop,I just mean sending them off canvas so that if I get less busy,I can bring them back.If we need a dramatic death or something,I'd also be maybe okay with killing one off...if it's right for a story

It's not like he's played anyway Perhaps he coud be just turned into a NPC so he can still be in Chandler's life since she's going to go on reocuring status so she can keep up her storyline with Tommy. That way, if you ever want to pick him back up, it won't be hard to.

Maybe after this storyline with Natalie is over, Ryan and Devon could dissapear for a bit? I kind of have an idea of Devon heading off to paint somewhere and him following her there even though she doesn't know about what he did? That's my imput!

Trent knew that Natalie was scared. He would be too if his child was kidnapped. Not that he had any children, but if he did then he would be at his wits end. When she asked if he would let her know anything, he nodded. It was the least he could do considering the fact that not only was the ball a disaster, but his date's daughter was kidnapped. He wasn't going to rest until Caroline was found.

"Can you take me home?"
Of course he had to say yes to that. He didn't want her going home alone especially in her distressed state. Plus, if they kidnapped Caroline for ransom, then they would probably call in the next few days or so.
"Sure," he responded with a nod. Trent shouldn't really work on the case seeing as how it would be a conflict of interest and Missing Persons probably work on the case better, but he had a grasp of it and his boss assigned him to lead the case. Walking with Natalie out of the precinct, he turned to her. "I need you to do something for me. I need you to call me if the kidnapper makes contact okay? We need to nail this guy."

Jade was grateful for Derek's compassion and concern. Despite their banter, she really did respect the guy. Sipping her coffee, she looked at him. She hated feeling this way. Feeling responsible when she didn't have to be. It was always like Jade though, always thinking the worst in herself. Jade had to accept the fact that it wasn't her fault and that it was the fault of the person or people who killed him in the first place.
"I'm sorry I'm probably not helping.."
Jade gave him a small smile. He was doing more for her than anyone has done for her in a long time. He was being a friend and she needed one right now.
"Oh, you're helping," she replied with a small sigh. "You're helping more than you know."

With everything that has happened, she was glad Derek was there for her. It had been awhile since she had someone to talk to apart from her cousin. She and Derek may not always agree on things, but he wasn't a complete jerk like most guys she had encountered.
"But if you need anything..Anything at all, I'm here Jade."
She just sat there and nodded. Jade was already going crazy just from last night alone. She had patients, and she had paperwork. Steve's parents were due any minute. That morning, Jade had to tell his parents that they had to come down to Port Charles straight away. She didn't want to tell them their son had died over the phone. It would be so mean and thoughtless. They took the first flight out from Philadelphia. Apparently Steve had lived in Port Charles since he was 18, so his parents didn't see him much apart from vacations.
"Thanks," she replied at last. "Actually, there is something that I need..." she added as she bit her lip.
She wasn't sure whether she should ask him to help with Steve's parents since the two really weren't friends, but she didn't want to face them alone. She looked at him.
"Could you possibly help me talk to Steve's parents?" she asked him. "They're due here any minute and I just told them to come down. I never said why, but they suspect something bad has happened. I didn't want to tell them over the phone."

As they headed towards the doors of precinct together, Trent turned to her before speaking. 'I need you to do something for me. I need you to call me if the kidnapper makes contact okay? We need to nail this guy.' It was a simple request. Simple for any normal person living under normal circumstances but Natalie wasn't one of those people. She was surrounded by danger all the time. Even after Michael left town, it didn't matter..She was still a target. If being attacked at the ball by that mad man hadn't proved it, Caroline being kidnapped most certainly did. The reason she probably wouldn't be able to just tell Trent if the kidnapper makes contact was because of what could happen if she did. She's not an idiot, she knows how things work in organized crime. She's been caught up in the mob world ever since she first came to Port Charles. She’s been involved with two known mob boss’s and nearly married one of them..She knows what the people in their business are capable of and what kind of danger her daughter could be in. Whoever did this would more than likely make contact and threaten harm on her angel if she involved the cops anymore than she already has. Michael would know what to do. He was always the smart level headed one while she was the one likely to lose her head and spin off the rails. Somehow he would keep her grounded. He would do whatever he had to do to bring their daughter home..He’s never failed her before.

Looking over at Trent, she nodded softly as she spoke. "I will." She told him, even though she wasn't sure if she would really be able to. She's never been in this situation before, she didn't know what to do..But she knew the type of people they were dealing with. She knew that they were animals who were capable of anything. Walking out of the precinct with Trent by her side, Natalie was taken from her thoughts the instant they stepped outside the doors. She was blinded by flashing lights from cameras as reporter after reporter swamped her, asking her a million questions at one hundred miles per hour. Overwhelmed, Natalie used her hands to try and back them off. When that didn't work she moved behind Trent and let him shield her from the rabid reporters. He quickly escorted her to his car and before long they were off. Glancing over her seat at the reporters as they drove further away, Natalie let out a sigh as she turned back around in her seat. "Thanks for that." It might have been smart to take the back way out but honestly before they were ambushed by them the thought of blood sucking reporters hadn't even once crossed her mind. She was too worried about Caroline to think about anything else.

Derek offered her a small smile, grateful he was helping even if it was only a little bit. She'd been through a traumatic experience. One that could take a long time to heal from. They might not have always been friends in the past but Derek would really like to change that. He wants to be her friend and help her through this ordeal..No matter how long it takes. Jade thanked him, soon going on to say there was something he could do for her. "Anything." He replied with a slight smile, resting her arm on the couch behind her. His smile faded a little when she asked if he could help her break the news to her parents. He never has been all that good at doing what she requested. He's lost very few patients in his career, his wife Claire being one of them, and had hardly any experience at telling people the last thing they wanted to hear. He just wasn't very good at it. He simply wasn't much of a people person but he would try, for Jade. She meant more to him than she knew.

"I'll help all I can Jade but..I'm pretty sure they'd want to hear it from you." Derek started, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder. She knew them and she knew his son a hell of a lot better than Derek did. Steve and him didn't even like each other. "But I'll be there, standing right next to you..And if you have trouble, I'll step in." He promised, giving her a small comforting smile. Glancing up for a moment it was then he caught sight of an could couple in their late fifties stepping off the elevator with worried lost expressions on their face. With a soft sigh, Derek looked back at Jade. "Is that them?" He asked as he nodded to the couple he was assuming were Steve's parents. "It's okay..You can do this Jade." He assured her, hoping his encouraging words would give her the strength she needed. "I'm right here." Derek promised with a small nod as his eyes searched hers. "I'm not going anywhere."
