If something bad happened to him, she wouldn't know what to do. He was her best friend and if she didn't at least try to help him out, she would be restless watching on helplessly."But, what if...." she started barely whispering. "What if something bad happened to you and I didn't help you out? I wouldn't be able to live with myself." Clint Clint listened intently. Violet did have a rough streak, but she was an all round good person. Despite her shortcomings, she was someone Clint could talk to. He just sat there without saying a word, as she said she and the mayor had a falling out. Clint saw the mayor a few times, but they weren't friends. If anything, they were merely acquaintances. As Violet sat on the stool next to his, he turned to her."I would worry actually," he replied. "Believe it or not, I actually do consider you a friend." he added with a nod. __________________ TL•KS•RP ღ

| Astra Opening her eyes she saw darkness as she had expected. "Is anyone there....?" Astra asked with caution in her voice. She didn't know what she was suppose to expect to feel but her fear and worry was no longer for herself at all. She was convinced something horrible had happened to Oliver and for this she was angry and felt so...powerless. Mary Picking up her phone she dialed the number she had been given. "Is Jasmine there?" She asked softly in a syrupy sweet voice. "This is Mary Lambert." Mary informed the answerer. Tag Jasmine Hunter So his half brother was alive and mostly well. Hunter sighed to himself. Hansel. He was tidying up his apartment and readying himself for when the old woman who lived in the shoe brought Hansel by. He heard a knock at the door and walked to it. Opening it, his eyes saw her and then went down to young Hansel. "Hi....come in,please..." He said, more nervous then he wanted to admit. Tag Hansel Max Max walked into the bar, and spotted Clint and Violet. He just stood there, unsure what to do or say. He sighed to himself. Trying not to hurt Violet seemed to be pulling them both apart. Great. __________________ Two hearts in love have no need for words. | |||

Just as Violet was about to say the same thing she was about to say to Clint when he had first shown up, she felt her blood stop cold for a brief moment. From the corner of her eye, she could easily recognize the silhouette of the person standing in the bar. Forcing a smile, if one were to stand face to face close to her, Violet's eyes told a different story of the mixture of hurt, relief, anger, shock and joy blended in one mixture. "Hi there." Her voice softened, trying to hold back any potential spite that she may blurt out towards Max. What she wanted to know was what exactly she did wrong that caused Max to disappear, reappear, disappear again, and reappear right before her in the bar. "Please...help yourself to the drink." Violet got off of her seat, gesturing to the bottle and inviting him to sit on the stool. No matter how hard she tried to keep up a pleasant facade, that happiness was slowly disintegrating each second, slowly revealing the hurt that she had just exposed to Clint just minutes earlier. "I should go to the storage room and check the supply." Before Max or Clint could think about trying to call her back, Violet quickly made her way to the storage room in the bar and quickly shut and locked the door behind her. Pulling on the switch that lit up the only bulb in the room, she sat on the crate in the corner while leaning against the wall. After several weeks from not hearing from him at all, not even a note saying he had to be gone, Violet pondered over why Max came back again. Why did he come back if he was going to run out on her again?

He wasn't that sort of guy. Plus, Violet really was a friend. Clint wasn't sure how Alana felt about her given that day, but he was sure Alana liked her as well."No, I'm not saying that to get a free drink," he replied. "I mean it." Before she could answer, he saw Max walk in. The guy that had been causing Violet so much grief. Clint had so many emotions in him at that moment; sadness, anger, relief that he actually came to the bar. He wasn't sure which one was winning out. When Violet said she needed to check something in the storage room, he was concerned. "Vio-" she had gone in there before he could be heard properly. Turning to Max, he sighed. "You're hurting her, you know?" he said. Jasmine Jasmine's phone rang and she had picked it up. She was unsure of who it could be, but she was glad to have the distraction. Hopefully it wasn't the wrong number other she'd be a bit upset."Speaking," she replied when the person on the other end asked if she was there. "Oh, Mary. | OOC: Hope this is all right, Kris. The Adrian-Hayden thing was what we discussed, I believe. ![]() Hayden/Hansel He hadn't said a single word on the trip over, despite a few genuine attempts at conversation on the older woman's part and Hayden might've felt a little guilty for snubbing her if he'd even taken notice of her interest. Rather, he was a bit caught up in his own world, had been ever since Adrian had informed him that he'd no longer be in his care, that they'd found his half-brother (whom he'd never heard of, knew nothing about) and he'd be staying with him instead. What had it been? Three weeks? Three weeks since he'd been rescued (sort of) by the Pied Piper, three weeks since he'd started following him around out of curiosity and probably self-preservation, and closer to two weeks since the older man had reluctantly (very reluctantly) allowed him into his home until different arrangements could be made. Admittedly, Hayden had grown a bit attached to Adrian as time went on, even though he'd known it was only a matter of days until he was dumped onto someone else, into someone else's care because Adrian had made it clear their arrangement wasn't permanent, that he didn't even like Hayden but he couldn't very well help how he felt, could he? He was a child, after all. A severely affection-starved child who'd been abandoned and tricked by every single adult he'd come to trust. Adrian was just the latest of those. It shouldn't matter at this point, and he should probably be used to being ditched, but try as he might Hayden still possessed human feelings. Childlike emotions. The want to trust and love still existed, and it still hurt knowing he was unwanted yet again by another adult. But now he had a brother. He could feel himself being tempted to rely on him for the affection and stability he so sorely craved, but his wariness remained high, had gotten even higher since Adrian and family wasn't any special guarantee. His father and mother had been the first to abandon him, and there was nothing tying he and Hunter together but some blood. Greta, his little sister, would always be the only person who'd consistently stuck by his side. Except, you know, when strange rifts in timespace separated them without warning. He peered thoughtfully up at Hunter as the older man stared down at him from the doorway. Yes, he could certainly see bits of his father in Hunter's face, his build, his voice, but that hardly endeared him to his sibling any. At his invitation, Hayden walked slowly inside the small apartment and perched on the nearest piece of furniture, gaze affixed on his shoes. __________________ Last edited by dreamboat : 08-20-2009 at 07:18 PM.

They make a lot of stories, a lot like ours. Sometimes so beautiful.” Nik was wistful and when engrossed in a tv program she often fantasized about being one of those self assured but largely inept women in a romantic comedy, or a tough female cop in an action drama. It all seemed so glamorous and so much easier than real life, Fable or Mundy. Most tv programs had happy endings, or at least the things the witches watched. Or all their stories a real happy ending wasn’t as readily available as the story endings made you believe, a lot was left intentionally vague. She turned back to the subject at hand. “You would make a good husband for someone,” she said without any motive. “Then maybe she would decorate,” with wrinkled nose Nik couldn’t help but smile. “So come on in, all the way,” Loki “You call it blackmail, I call it…incentive,” he turned into her grip looking into her determined face. “You now have an incentive now to turn to me contractually because if you don’t you’ll most likely be dead. I can’t make any promises about sadistic care of Fable crowd but I know a little something about The Adversary’s nature. It would be difficult to choose. “He shook off her grip forcibly. “You duped a Fable up with hallucinogens, you were working with the kidnappers, obviously and whatever evidence they might need I could provide in my unique position as a shape shifter, all those names I gave you, they’re friends which is why I gave you their names and not others. Anything I say would be easily corroborated. You have two choices lovely…death, or me…” David He took a deep breath before moving towards her. Flailing and grabbing at anything she could get a hold of she posed a physical problem – how to contain her and not hurt her. She was a basket case; Sandy had not been unkind to suggest it. In fact basket case didn’t fully encompass a blindfolded girl hearing wolves at every turn and muttering like a soothsayer under her breath. The word ‘unhinged’ came to mind. “Calm down,” he said as softly as he would have to a spooked horse. “I am not a wolf,” he reached for her hand. “Please my hand, skin not fur, no wolves here,” Oliver “Don’t worry about me,” he touched her cheek, pressing his lips softly against hers. He meant for it to be chaste. He’d kissed her that way a thousand times. It had been platonic each and every one of those times, but not this time. The moment lingered longer than he had intended, her soft mouth under his sturdier one. The space felt close, his hands awkwardly around her from the second before in which he was holding her. This in itself was a surprise, the fact that his heartbeat quickened was the second one. I guess better Adrian just letting him go than screwing him up with the flute like he did to Astra. Annalise Her eyes widened in shock as Loki told her all this. Crazy was an understatement when it came to Loki. Sadistic was the closest she could come up with. No...not even sadistic could be associated with. At the situation she was in now, it could very well be beyond that. Her arm flew back when Loki forced her to release her grip. Nothing would make Annalise happier than to strangle Loki and take him down. It didn't matter whether they were out in the public where crowds could easily gather to catch the spectacle. "You...son...of...a...bitch." She said each word with an acidic tongue, trying to not draw unnecessary attention from others. Not once had Annalise turned her head or attention away from Loki. "And exactly how many more weeks do you plan to extend on this contract?" Loki was bearable at rare times but Annalise could not bear to stand another moment being Loki's little play thing, if that's what he saw in her. Adrian And most times, utterly stupid. Adrian recalled those sitcoms and what could be termed "modern movies", especially comedic ones, and needless to say, what person, mundy or fable alike, in their right mind would rather waste their way at something pointless like that? When Nik brought up the subject of marriage and her thoughts of Adrian having the potential to make a good husband, he could no longer hold back the laughter he had felt. Nik's hopes and wonderment of the pied piper were getting more ridiculous than the fist time he had met her in the mall during the lock out. "Good husband, huh? And what made you come up with that notion?" From the corner of his eye, he noticed Astra slowly stirring awake from her slumber. The flute effects he had placed on her were to last for 12 hours. Lyssa When the wolf grabbed her hand, Lyssa shrieked at the growls coming through, as if threatening to kill her right there. Her fingernails didn't feel much hair, with the exception of his bare arm. But when her fingers reached the wolf's fingernails, she shook once more. As quick as she could, she pulled her hand away from his while her other hand still held on to the stool. Feeling the breath and noise grew closer, Lyssa's body shook, trembling that the wolf was ready to pounce and bounce. At that instant, she hurled the stool as if aiming to strike the wolf. Instead, it missed. The stool had missed David's head by several inches. But instead of striking the mayor, it shattered a mirror behind him. Lyssa collapsed on to the floor with her knees to her chest. She rocked back and forth, looking around frantically. "The wolves...they're everywhere. They're god damn everywhere. What happened to you Sandy?" __________________ Last edited by ~+Yamiko : 08-21-2009 at 09:52 AM.

Glenda's heart quickened which was unusual for her. Oliver was her best friend and just by their kiss, he was cheating on Astra, but if he had betrayed her as bad as he said, then maybe she would want nothing to do with him. She wanted to deepen the kiss so much. There was so many signals in that one kiss that her head was spinning. Before she lost herself too much, she reluctantly broke it off."Oliver..." was all she could say. All she did now was just look him in the eye. __________________ TL•KS•RP ღ

Looking perfectly normal people passed them by without so much as a look, funny how easily they, as Fables (well one Fable and one displaced mythological figure) integrated into society. Loki lifted a hand and placed in on her shoulder. “Weeks, that’s such a trite concept, even years, I don’t know, even years doesn’t encompass what a favor I would be doing you, in essence giving you free reign and protection from your sins and saving you from certain death.” He worked her shoulder with the pad of his thumb; she was always easier to talk with when being touched. “Death is forever; well, in most cases besides your own. I don’t think anyone has the magic required or the inclination to help you in that way again, so I was thinking, last night when you were snoring so peaceably, that if death is forever why shouldn’t your internment with me?” Nik “Good friend, good husband,” she reasoned. “Same type of skills I think. I don’t really know because I’ve never been. I was betrothed once, he was a kelpie, very grabby, not very smart but oh, he had the most beautiful river and well because of what he did, what he was he was a good match for me,” she explained. After a moment, seeing his gaze wander she poked his leg. “Come on in, will you, I never ask you for anything…” David “Well that’s seven years bad luck,” he muttered, shards of glass sinking into the handmade berber. “Look,” he said his voice raising. “I’m not a wolf! I’m not Sandy! I’m not bloody trouble, and you are flippin’ crazy. Get yourself together,” Oliver There was dead silence around them. She hadn’t pulled away during the kiss. And even now, still so close to her, she didn’t try to move then. Oliver was still but inside a thousand butterflies flew around his system. What was this? Was this a response to being jailed, a response to the pressured strangeness that was being trapped? Yes, in part but he felt like it was something more. “I don’t know why I did that,” he said quietly. “But, I’m pretty sure I want to do it again,” __________________ Each game of chess MandyMeans there's one less Variation left to be played

| Elite Fan ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Lyssa She winced when she heard a familiar voice rising, almost angry with her. The voice, almost sounding human, like in Sandy's case. Still, wolves tend to be quite deceiving when it came to their guises. After all, there was that saying: A wolf in sheep's clothing. Ever since her abduction, Lyssa had been wary of nearly anyone who tried to talk to her. Lyssa sat still, her back up against the foot of the bed. The wild screaming had stopped but that, in no way, had ceased the fears of the fact that there were wolves where she was. For a brief moment, she had a small flashback of what happened those several weeks ago prior to being trapped in the basement. "Papers...." Lyssa said in a soft voice, tilting her head to the side. "Papers and folders...they were everywhere." Her fingernails scratched the legs of the bed, apparently shaken by that memory. That was all the flashback had given her: The one particular moment that her mind subconsciously tried to black out. Annalise Had the fact that there were no other people crowding about the streets, Annalise would have easily slapped him head on for this little scheme he had just pulled off. "If death is forever why shouldn’t your internment with me?" As if I had any reason to trust you now! Her mind seethed, almost ready to kill him. She had a horrible feeling that this sort of thing was heading her direction but for some reason, she could not believe it herself. His touch, unlike the past few weeks, had might as well be the touch from the reaper himself. But she knew Loki. And she knew Loki was damned serious at what he was proposing. "You're crazy. No, you're not crazy...you sadistic bastard." Annalise's voice shook. Her efforts on keeping a straight demeanor were failing as she was clearly shaken by the proposal and his threats of using his shape shifting ability to expose her. Annalise took a small step back, leaning up against the nearby streetlight. One thing was for sure: If Annalise did not take this deal, Loki was bound to do something that she would regret. Adrian "So your marriages are based on how your waters look like?" Bizzare as the concept may sound, it was no surprise. Adrian had seen people, especially in the cities who would marry each other based on the kind of houses and lifestyles they lived in. Most of the time, the marriages don't work out in to their favor. "You're right, you never asked me for anything." Adrian chuckled. With a single finger, he poked Nik's nose lightly with the same silly grin on his face. "And what makes you think that you're not plotting something to get back at me after the little incident with the flute earlier?" | |||

The proximity actually made her stomach churn more than once. It was probably a reaction to being trapped together. They were the only two in there so it made sense, but at the same time, it felt...right. Oliver knew pretty much everything about her and she knew about him. It was hard to deny that there was some sort of attraction burning there."I...I," she began trying to get the words out while looking at him. | Affiliates Manager ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | David Frustrated and hardly listening David almost missed her speaking about papers. Staying where he was lest he provoke another physical response he asked her. “What papers, Lyssa what are you talking about?” It was his assumption, and others that little red had been kidnapped by the same people who now had Oliver and Glenda and that during the abduction the stress had made her revert back into the state which she had been in when first attacked by the wolf, so many hundreds of years ago. Apparently stress could trigger that kind of response in anyone who’d been subject to the kinds of terrors she was. He’d never given the notion much thought, putting trust in Sandy’s judgment and also focusing on other matters of statedom, but now he seriously started thinking about it. If she had seen something in her normal state, how much of that could come through in her altered state. And of that, how much of what she might have seen would be colored by her crazy state. “Whose papers, Lyssa,” he said, carefully controlling the level of his voice. “Where are they now? What did they say?” Loki Like a cat that got the cream and in so door had wreaked an entire kitchen, Loki smiled. Getting the results he wanted was the point of everything he did, much like the cat, the means in getting to it were secondary and more often than not didn’t matter at all. “Sticks and stones lover,” he said, putting lean fingers with larger knuckles than his own into the back pocket of his dress pants. “I have another contract all for you,” he said. This contract, same as the last one had a curious feeling of velum but was not. His name was already signed, a bloodied thumbprint to the left of the signature in place. “It has a few different provisions, mainly being that you can never cancel our arrangement unless you die somewhere in the middle of it,” he held up a finger. “And by this I mean really die, can’t come back, no power of your story trickily resurrecting you – you’d still be bound, and I’d know. My death would similarly break you of our little deal, but any foul play would be very hurtful to you, would likely kill you, because you were bound to me. The other inclusion is that you can be released if I choose to release you. “His smile grew. “I’m sure you can tell I’ve been working on this deal almost since we made the first one,” Clucking at his own omission he hit the heel of his (borrowed) hand against his (borrowed) forehead. “I forgot, this deal does have a shelf life. You agree and sign and fingerprint before we reach the mayors office or it’s rescinded. Permanently rescinded.” Oliver A part of him felt freed. He hadn’t hurt them. She wasn’t angry with him and she must have felt something. She must have felt something stir like he had felt. The other part, already, was feeling guilty. The sick dark bile of doing something he knew would hurt someone in the end couldn’t keep him from covering Glenda’s lips with his once more. This time, the pressure of his lips was softer but his oyster tongue traced entrance to her mouth. This must be what drowning felt like, he thought to himself, a hundred thousand ideas at war in your head while your body moved seemingly of its own volition, knowing what it wanted, what it needed. Nik “I’m not,” she said, utterly serious. “If I wanted to get back at you, I could and I wouldn’t need you fully incased in water to do it,” There was not threat in her voice, just plain truth. “They engaged me to the kelpie because we are in our natures, the very same. The kelpie eats a human being from the inside out. He leaves the heart. He leaves the liver. They cannot sustain him. When we wed he was going to allow first damage to me. We’d ensnare together, I would take what I needed first, and he would take what was left,” All Fables knew the roots of all other Fables but the intricacies of the stories, particularly one as obscure as Nik’s was often unknown. Nik’s story was so fragile that she could very well die if she was ever attacked. What most Fables didn’t know about Nik was that her youth and beauty was defendant on stealing it from young, beautiful people and because most of those she’d used before as vessels had been children, many of them hadn’t survived. She had never told anyone what she told him, not completely, and not without dancing around it but she really thought that if he knew, truly knew what she could do than he wouldn't question her loyalty again. __________________ Each game of chess MandyMeans there's one less Variation left to be played

Her mouth opened and closed, as if trying to say something but the only thing that came out of her lips were gasping noises. "They were everywhere....scattered on the table." Lyssa got on her knees while her hand seemed to be reaching for something under the bed. Although she had not known this nor was anywhere around her fully aware, she had been emulating the actions of what her last memory was before the wolf had coerced her out of her apartment. Her head raised up. Just when things seemed to have been calming down, Lyssa threw herself on to the floor, screaming and crying. Among the rambles and apologies, the only thing coherent thing she could ever say was "I never thought you were sleeping with her, I swear!" Annalise Allowing her anger to consume her, with an open hand, she slapped Loki as hard as she could on his face, not enough to knock the contract away from his hand. Her teeth made a grinding sensation as Annalise stood at the very same spot, unmoved from it for the past several minutes. She was damned. She already knew that the moment that she had signed the now provisional contract, and three weeks later, now having come to find this thrust upon her. It was just as bad as a marriage contract between the two. Or worse, since Loki was most likely determined not to release her so easily. With her fist balled up, her head remained low before she said in a tense, but defeated voice. "Give me the damned contract. I'll sign. What else is coming with it, a wedding ring?" The 'wedding ring' bit, was out of sarcasm. Adrian He couldn't help but chuckle at Nik's rather tasteful description on how her kind feeds off of the others. Given where he was back in the homelands, Adrian never really paid too much attention to the stories of far away or beyond his understanding. The story of the nixie, for example. Adrian proceeded to simply submerge himself in the tank, shirt, pants and all. With one hand, he held on to the edge of the tank to give him some leverage. "So what happened to this kelpie...or whatever you call it?"

In a way, she had always wanted him to kiss her like that, but nothing could come of it because of Astra. She liked Astra, but she felt that she couldn't be there for Oliver like Glenda could. Letting her tongue trace over his, she loosely let her arms wrap around his neck and she closed her eyes tighter. Letting the kiss linger a little longer, she broke away again. This time, she smiled."What now?" she asked simply. It could be taken both ways. It can be referring to where they stand relationship wise and what they were gonna go about getting out. It sort of was referring to both things. If they were gonna have a relationship, they were gonna have to tell Astra, but that meant getting out first. __________________ TL•KS•RP ღ
