College Life

UCLA is one of the best California State schools. It is hell to get into, and keeping up your grades to stay in can be just as hard. Through final exams, huge projects, and studying, students need to kick back with their friends and just relax and have fun.

This is a story going into the hectic lives of college students, and all the pressures - and fun that goes along with that. Drama will undoubtably break out, and life gets in the way of everything. Studying is important - but if you don't take life by the horns, you'll be dead before you know it, wondering where all your fun years went.

A large Victorian home just off of campus was put up for sale, and bought by the Richards family from the area, and donated to the school for housing. It was a first come first served basis, and the housing was not advertised. Students from sophomores to seniors were allowed to sign up for housing. The house can allow for 20 people to live comfortably, two to a room. The house itself has six bathrooms, and three floors - the top two for bedrooms, and the bottom floor which has living areas, a large kitchen, and a few other rooms which have been converted to exercise rooms and game rooms for the tenants. Everyone living in the house comes from very different backgrounds, and have to deal with living with each other.

This takes place halfway through the first semester, so everyone knows everyone already, and have been living in the house for three months.

When they broke up, it broke her heart, and she wasn’t sure if she’d be able to heal. She has, but only because Michael is still in her life. She was wary when she started to date Brian, but he’s made his way into her heart. Her best friend is Monica, who is her roommate. She hates Alex with a passion.

Lauren’s best friend is Kylie, and probably always will be. Kylie is also her roommate. Lauren does not like Jennifer, and does everything she can to just piss her off.

Jennifer absolutely hates Lauren. She just can’t stand anything about her. Lauren is always just doing everything she can to get under her skin.

She really likes him, and they are always happy when they are together, but she just doesn’t know where to go from here. While she adores Evan, she’s friends with Liam, and finds herself always smiling when she’s around him. She loves being roommates with her best friend Grace, because they can stay up all night talking, and she has that support system in the next bed over. Abby does not like Monica, and they always seem to get at each other.

Moving into the same house as him has been really weird, and she just thanks God it’s a big house. She’s been dating Jacob for a couple of months, and she absolutely adores him. He makes her feel special without saying anything, and she actually likes how they are keeping it a secret, at least for now. Her best friend and roommate is Abby, whom she’s known since she got to UCLA. Grace can’t stand Angie, but she tries to tolerate her for Jacob’s sake, since his best friend is dating her.

Fantabulous everyone

Thanks for joining. We're going to go ahead and start this up.

It is Friday afternoon, you can have them anywhere - in class, out of class, getting ready to go out, whatever.
They are hosting a big important dinner at their house the next evening with faculty and the honors society. You can choose to have your characters in that society or not, but everyone is helping with the dinner.

Here we go, let the drama begin...

Grace
After watching the clock for the last hour of my history class, I finally hurried out the door. That man has got to do something like books on tape for kids - put them right to sleep, save parents a lot of hassle at bedtime. I flip open my phone and call Jacob. I hadn't seen him all day because I had to leave early this morning. We had plans to do something tonight, although it was hard actually planning things, especially living in the same house as Evan. Sometimes I wish we could just tell him and everybody, get everything out in the open and then just deal with that, but I didn't want that to be the cause of a big thing around the house. It seemed like everyone was connected in some ways, and I don't want everyone hating me, thanks.

I start walking across campus as I wait for Jacob to answer the phone.

After finishing a long day at the high school, I drove home. I forgot how exhausting high school can be, especially when I'm not 16 anymore to enjoy it. After parking my car on the street I headed inside, dumping my stuff on the couch and heading to the kitchen to grab an apple before heading upstairs to see if Alex is home. I walk up to her door and knock as I open it.
"Alex?"

I was running around my room trying to find my red top. I was supposed to go out with Riley in less than an hour, and I couldn't even find what I wanted to wear. Damn. "Lauren?" I call out, not even knowing if she is within ear shot. I walk out into the hall, trying to find her. We had a habit of swapping clothes, and she'd probably know where my shirt was. I saw Michael in the hall and said hello, I had no problem with him - just his girlfriend. I hurried downstairs, looking for Lauren. "Lauren?" I called out again. I tend to get frantic when I'm running late.

Lauren

I start to throw clothes out of my closet in an attempt to find something to wear. "No..no...no..." I really need to go shopping, there is nothing good in here. "Grrrr!" I scream out as I angrily get up from the floor. I begin to jump up and down on my clothes, because my clothes are what I'm so mad at. I stop and take a deep breath. What a wonderful way to start the day! No Im determined not to be in a bad mood. I'll make this a good day damn it. I hear Kylie's voice calling out my name. "One second." I scream back. I see my black tanktop that has a guitar on it. That will work. I start to put it on as I walk out of my room. Were girls we never care about that stuff. I see Kylie waiting for me...she seems like she's having as good of day as me. "What'd you need oh so badly?" I ask with a laugh.

Jacob

I sound of my cell phone ringing brings me out of my very deep sleep. "No.." I say not wanting to reach for the phone and answer it. It's ringing so loudly though...and its so damn annoying. Maybe I shouldn't have stayed out all night last night...It was a thursday though. Thursday is party night...you have to go out. Oh ****, it feels like I got a lot of sleep.. I shouldn't have. My alarm was suppose to wake me up so I wouldn't miss a test this morning. Ignoring the ringing of my cell phone I quickly look at my alarm clock. "Sh/t!"I yell standing up. The phone is still ringing. Damn it, theres just too much going on. I grab the phone and answer it. "What?" I scream groggily. I don't even know who it is...I just..I hate mornings.

Brian

Brian rounded the corner of his street with swet dripping down his face. He was almost done with his morning jog and it was a good thing. Five more minutes and he would've collapsed for sure. Brian arrived at his house and stopped dead in his tracks, gasping for breath as he did so. He spent about ten minutes stretching before heading on inside for a shower. He washed himself quickly, seeing as he was a guy, and changed into some jeans and a plain white shirt, ready to start the day. He was helping with the dinner tonight and he needed to get going or he was sure to be late. So, knowing he couldn't waste anymore time, Brian grabbed his cell phone and keys and went outside to his car. He adjusted his seat as he always did every morning and was on his way. As he was driving he felt the sudden urge to hear Heidi's voice. Thank God he had remembered his cell phone. Brian pulled it out of his pocket and dialed Heidi's number. Keeping a steady hand on the wheel, he waited patiently for her to answer.

Alex

I stretched out across my bed comfortably. This had been a particularly nightmarish week of exams and lab reports - the life of a biology major was never exactly easy, but this week had been so crazy that I'd barely even come up for air all week. To class, to the lab, to my room to study...I'd hardly even had a chance to see my boyfriend or my best friend (and considering the fact that my best friend was my roommate, that was really sad!)

I sighed contentedly as the afternoon sun warmed my face through the window. A perfect opportunity for a nap. Just then, there was a knock at my door.

"Of course,"I mumbled to myself, as I got up. Just then, I heard a familiar voice calling my name. My heart fluttered as I recognized Michael. Michael was my boyfriend, a guy who I had considered to be at first a casual relationship but had turned (against my best inclinations to not put my heart at risk again) into something amazing. I couldn't believe how crazy I was about him sometimes.

I opened the door and melted into his arms for a hug and a welcome kiss. "Hi, Michael,"I said with a warm smile. "I missed you!" I pulled back and led him by the hand into the room, where I sat on the bed and he sank into my desk chair. "You look beat. How were the students today?"

I look into our room. "THERE you are." I say, walking in. "Hey do you know where my red top is? You know the one with the lacy things in front?" I say, using gestures to try to show what I'm talking about it. "I want it for my hot date tonight." I say with a slight grin. "Is it in your massive piles of clothes somewhere?"

Grace
I laugh slightly when I hear him answer the phone. "Are you just waking up?" I look at my watch. "I must have the laziest boyfriend on the planet." I smile. "Sorry to wake you." He did not sound like he was in the best mood, aside from being woken up, and I wondered why.

I glance up from my drink to the clock once again. I only have like one minute left. I hate working mornings, I hate it with a passion...but I do like the fact that once its done for the day I don't have to worry about it again until the next time I have to work...The sound of someone coming through the door snaps me out of my thoughts. Yes its Marie, the waitress that is taking my place. She's late a lot and I was hoping she wouldn't be today and she wasn't. Maybe today won't be so bad after all. As long as I don't have to see Alex and Michael all over eachother...God I don't know if I could handle seeing that again. Alex..I hate her. "Okay then..I'm done. I'll see you later." I tell Marie with a laugh. I grab my coat from the counter and walk out of the restaruant. I really don't like that place. My cell phone starts to ring and causes me to drop my purse. I pick it up off the ground and open my purse. I struggle to find my phone, and I finally suceed. "Hello." I say as I put my phone to my ear and put my purse on my shoulder.

Lauren

I smile when she sees me. She must have been looking for me for a little while. I hear what she says and try to remember the shirt she is talking about. "Red top..red top.." I mutter in an attempt to refresh my memory. "Oh yeah I think I know what top your talking about." I say laughing. I quickly walk to my room and grab it off the floor. Yep, I definitely threw it out of my closet when I was trying to find something before. I walk back out to Kylie and throw the shirt at her. "Geesh whats the rush on the shirt...hot date?" I question raising my eyebrows at her. I let out a laugh while looking at her.

Jacob

The sound of Grace's voice immediately calms me and makes me forget while I was even upset in the first place. A smile comes to my face, hearing her voice always makes me smile. "Hey now." I say after her boyfriend comment. "Okay it may be kind of true because you are right...I did just wake up." I admit as I take a seat on the edge of my bed. "I missed a test...the only class I had today and I Jacob Williams missed it." I tell her as I continue to laugh. "Oh well...So what are you doing...right now?" I ask her. I always want to know what shes doing, I always want to be around her...I don't understand it and I can't really explain it...but I don't think I'm suppose to understand it and I don't think I'm suppose to know how to explain it..
