OOC: Sorry it's taken me so long to reply! Was gone all weekend, plus thursday and friday for a wedding. I thought I'd have some downtime to post, but was kept surprisingly busy. Posting soon.

And sure, I'd love both of those interactions, Mandy. I'll send Victoria after Louis when I finally catch up.

Kiara
Holding the letter in her hand still, she looked at Jen as she went over to the cabinets. Kiara never had any problems with the Lycans. She had worked with a few and they seemed pretty tame. No-one can be trusted, but in all honesty, they need as many people as they can get. It might be good for them to know what the alchemists can do.
"I think we should tell the lycans," she replied at last. "Once we tell them the contents of this letter, we can work it out from there. I think they deserve to know, no matter if we trust them or not." she added with a shrug.

Miles
Granted, Miles didn't know what he would do if Aya turned against him and/or his pack. He wouldn't kill her. Hate? Maybe. Kill? Never. Mages were always hard to trust, but they have some civility and if they can get along, then there'll be no problem.
"What do you want me to say?" he asked. "You want me to say that I'll kill her? Because I won't. At least not on purpose."

Taking a cigarette, he nodded in thanks and lit it, puffing a bit of smoke as he exhaled.
"Well, that vampire deserves to be killed," he said. "After what he put her through. I don't think she'll go against us lycans though. Do you think she will?" he asked not sure why he was so curious all of a sudden.

"You want me to say that I'll kill her? Because I won't. At least not on purpose."

Antonio took another drag from the cigarette, blowing the smoke straight up in to the air. "Lycan-Mage interaction has improved enough during the past ten years where it was an all out war with pretty much everyone in the three species."

He wasn't so sure how much Miles knew or remember the high tensions that took place after the human population was wiped out. Although for Antonio, those years were rather...interesting. After all, those tensions took place not too long after Miles' killing of his sister in Canada and the pack had split in different directions.

When Miles asked the question if Antonio thought Aya was capable of going against Lycans, he had to ponder the question, trying to think of an answer carefully. Granted, although he had met a few of the wolves that Miles was staying with (particularly Vaughn, Alexander, and before her death, Astrid) as acquaintances, he wasn't familiar with how the pack lived and operated, nor their personal lives.

"I guess given from what the girl had told me, she probably might. Although if she were to face you in battle, I would say she wouldn't do so out of her own free will." He muttered something along the lines of "that sort" of relationship before shaking his head.

It was probably no secret that Miles harbored more than platonic feelings toward Aya, but he never acted upon them though. That's one of the reasons why he is so concerned about her. He doesn't want her to get hurt and he doesn't want to hurt her. Miles doesn't want her to hurt him either. He took a puff of his cigarette and exhaled, blowing smoke in front of him and looked at Antonio.
"I would hope not," he replied. "But I guess you can't really guarantee that with people that aren't your own kind." he added with a shrug.

Taking a last puff from the cigarette before stomping it on to the ground, Antonio could not help but feel slightly insulted by what Miles had said just now. If that's what he thought when it came to himself and Aya, why the hell did Miles not think the same way when it came to what he did to his own sister. After all, being a lycan doesn't exactly mean the creature is still fully humane. Sure, they could shift in to a human form if they chose to do so, but they now came with animalistic tendencies.

"You're right, you can't guarantee it." Antonio was tempted to call Miles out on his bit of logic that he spewed just now but decided to hold back, just once, for now. At least Miles had calm down enough as opposed to earlier. "I'm curious though. How do you feel towards that mage?"

Daniel
The quiet of the church felt odd. He closed his eyes; briefly conjured high hallelujahs in his head, the smell of Christmas incense so thick it choked you, coated the back of your tongue. When this made him sad he couldn’t have guessed. The faith in something omnipotent? No, that wasn’t it. It was the memory engrained in him which harkened back to times when things were not so complicated, this was what he thought accounted for most of the nostalgia though it was much more he wouldn’t admit to himself.

As they reached the door, he craned his neck to see. “Bell tower,” he said, quietly so as not to disturb the memory he’d so perfectly conjured. “Suppose there are any bells left?”

Jen
She paused, hand on a blue box. The title of the foodstuff had been crossed out but it was unmistakable what was inside. She lifted it, checked the expiration date on the bottom of the box and then left it on the counter and went to boil water. Blue box blues indeed.

She had feared that Kiara, ever the sweetheart, would have sided on the side compassion. She was powerful, in her way, and in many stronger than Jen herself because manipulating energy was the closest thing to being able to wield all elements but it was not the prowess that set the women apart but the openness of their natures. “I see what you’re saying,” she said, sitting the uneven pot on the camp stove that occupied much of the space on the crumbled granite. “I just wonder if throwing our lot in with them is going to make this war of ours official,”

She kept her face turned from her friend, embarrassed, but ever practical. “There’s no love lost between me and them, you know that, it’s just that most of us are safe and the fire mages in Liberty City have mostly fled, they don’t really have much against the rest of us,”

Paige
In the end no one did attack her. For all her wild eyed paranoia not a single person or creature approached her on the road. Lights were on in houses, their chatter spilling out into the street, but none of those voices beckoned her come closer. Not but a mile away she’d guess a wolf howled a guttural sound, not that of a true wolf. She’d stopped, waited to see if the wailing drew closer. When it did not she stomped her foot, cursed and moved with more purpose towards that manor of the vampires.

It was not difficult to find. The structure was the largest in the area and decked out with gothic spires and high arches, ostentatious but still beautiful, slate grey in the darkness. She puttered around the edges of the mansion only to be caught by a lesser member of the common court. Though she pondered firing at him, she quelled the desire before anything happened. Not the best impression, she figured, burning a foot soldier to death.

Relenting, she was led into the foyer. She stood, taking in the surroundings. Just as gaudy as the outside but the opulence, the taste was different. The outside looked like a castle but this inside was more European, heavy fabric curtains and crystal hanging above. It also evoked a more golden feeling, warmer, which appealed to her core nature. The little vampire she’d almost attacked gave her a quick bow, and, as was customary for a servant she exposed the part of her next which bared the most recent evidence of her allegiance, already fading into the cream tone of her skin. He gave a brief smile which flashed a bit of fang and then led her to the other room, pressing a piece of paper into her hand before leaving seemingly on the breeze.

The paper, the color of saffron bore salutations from the new Emperor. His script was fluid and filled with the many twists and turns she’d come to know from the old ones. He informed her that he was glad of her joining their party but that she would not be his personal consort of blood. Instead she was to be given as gift to the King. Paige felt her blood boil and without paying attention she managed to scorch the page bearing the Emperors address. He further instructed her to go immediately to the rooms of the King and present herself. Full of self loathing and anger she ascended the grandest of the staircases, for surely that would be where the highest ranking of the vampires would choose to room. When she finally was directed the right way she knocked on the door and sunk to her knees, as was custom for the lamb of blood to present herself to her new master.

Miles
Miles realised just then that his logic was way off. In a way, he really did know what it was like to turn on people who weren't his kind. He did accidentally kill his sister. It was stupid, but he has grown up since then and if he could take everything back, he would. How was he to know that she was his sister anyway? Miles sighed.
"I don't know," he replied. "Protective. I care for her, but I'm not entirely sure. I'm confused."

Kiara
Kiara wasn't sure. She was willing to trust the lycans though, but it didn't matter in the end though. Either way, they would have to do something about this. It was just a matter of when. Kiara looked at Jen.
"That's true," she replied with a shrug. "Do you have any other ideas?" she asked.

Jen
As she stirred in the noodles she thought about an answer. “My idea was to say nothing,” she said, her voice steadier than she felt on the matter. “Let things run their course, mostly it’s been the fire mages and they are dying out. That and to stay closer with the people I care about. No one should be out alone,” she smiled tightly watching the water that was moments before rapidly bubbling cease to and cloud with the addition of the pasta. “It’s possible that it’s a power play and that this Empress, wherever she may be, is trying to assert dominance here, I don’t know. I’d worry less if that letter was just found, not found next to a pile of Ash. I don’t trust that girl anyway, she’s an outsider. She comes from where?” she asked, increasingly annoyed. “And she discovers something this potentially damming, and on a routine perimeter search,” she arched a brow, calming as a thread of ivy crawled up the surface of a cabinet, pulled from thin air in her irritation. “I don’t like this whole situation. And I hate that I can’t get Anthony to even think of giving me his opinion. He wants to wait and see what the majority want to do,”

Louis
He’d gone to clean up, revel in his new position. From the kitchen (which got so little use from the primary inhabitants) he had sent up elderflower blossoms which he poured into a warm bath. The sweetness of the blossoms came out the instant it touched heat and the room began to smell like pancakes and similar sweet treats. The warmth of the water sluicing over his cool skin reminded him that even with the freshness of blood in his belly that he was still part of a cold race.

Things had gone remarkable well in his estimation. The Emperor had been dethroned and disposed of and no one but Drake would dare to make assertions that the murder was done by anyone but the loose wolves of Liberty City. He harbored no delusions the Drake’s feelings for him would keep his mouth shut but he knew that if he betrayed him that he would also damn Casimiro and the man felt too deeply for his kin to do that though Louis was sure he’d be reluctant to admit to that piece of truth. He closed his eyes and fell back into the bath, submerging himself.

For all his happiness’ there was also an oddity -since her return from Paris Casidy had been distant and less even tempered. For a the first few weeks Louis feared that she suspected that he was behind the coup, but when she calmed she was as loving as ever she was so he quickly put that out of mind. He found her chewing on her lip, a nervous habit, but she would not explain to him what was making her so anxious. He tried to put it out of mind but it clung there, like moss to rock. He tried to turn his thoughts to things that made him happier and found that more and more often those thoughts were of Casimiro.

It had been a very long time since Louis desired intimacy, the true intimacy of a man who was not simply a lover. How it could have come to this he could scarcely imagine. The two of them had always appreciated one another’s beauty but the fact the he was Drake’s offspring and that he was a social climber desirous of his throne besides had quelled any other feelings that might have popped up. But now things were quite different and he found a confidant in Casimiro, and a complex man he wished for more time with. He had pondered dining with him this evening but decided against it. For all the feelings that now occupied his still heart his pride was still a heavy thing. He could not find it in himself to go looking for Casimiro, he was the higher station. They would have to meet by chance, or by Casimiro’s formal invitation. So, instead he sent him the fire mage come newly to court to offer herself to him as food, slave, whatever he wished. This was a kingly gift, for the fire mages were rarities and their blood tasted of a particular spice and this fire mage was completely addicted to the embrace of their kind so it was all the pleasure and none of the worry with one such as her.

He exited the bath and went quickly to dress. He was expecting Victoria soon. She had proved her mettle and proved herself to be a fine huntress. He wondered that she had never challenged for position for she was certainly strong enough but he put it down to laziness on her part and ambivalence over whether she wished to carry the responsibility of court life. Having spoken with the Marquise about imminent challenge the older woman offered to step aside so long as she was paid well for her trouble. The Marquise was not a stupid woman and she was apprehensive at this new transitional government so she took what assurances (and gold) Louis offered her and stepped down from her title. It was possible that if Victoria did claim the position that she would be challenged but he could see none that would best her if they tried and he as Emperor would choose which challenge would best fit her and assure her victory. Still, she had not given him answer and he grew impatient. Now more than ever it was important to solidify his power base and feel the royal court with others loyal to his colors, the gold and blue.

He sat to table, dressed in cream and gold and waited for her to come to him.

Aya
Looking up at the bell that hung still, Aya felt her nose tickle before she let out a sneeze. From what Aya had assumed, this particular bell tower had not been dusted for quite some time. As far as other bells concerned, Aya had not seen any extra ones, sans the giant bell high up. In the corner of the room, there was a spiral staircase that led up to the high point of the tower, perhaps to clean the bell.

"Not that I'm aware of." She responded to Daniel's question of bells being in other places of the church.

Antonio
Well, now this was getting interesting. Usually, he wasn't one to pry over anyone's personal life or preferences but when it came to Miles, his former pupil had a tendency to make things even remotely interesting. Taking out another cigarette, he re-lit the end of the stick before exhaling a puff of smoke.

"What's so confusing about it? You said you wanted to protect her. Not something I would normally do for a mage of that stature but I'm not stopping you."

OOC: One character at a time. Phew. Hannah, then Casi then Victoria.

Hannah
For the briefest of moments, embarrassment flushed through her at Drake's scrutiny the less prudent portion of her brain chiding her for treating such a close friend like a dangerous stranger but sense quickly caught up and shoved that ridiculous rebuke aside. Were he anything other than a vampire, or a faerie, no question Hannah would've stuck to Drake like glue within the first few moments of their meeting, all hugs and smiles and careless invasions of personal space, but the war had soured her somewhat happy-go-lucky nature. It'd been beaten into her brain – vampires can't be trusted killing death traitors sneaky suspicious don't let your guard down drain your blood... Mostly by Jennifer. And still it had taken a particularly smarmy vampire taking a chunk out of her right shoulder when she'd offered temporary truce to ask a few harmless questions to knock some sense into her. Jennifer had her moments, and she'd apparently been correct in her assertion about the vampire species as a whole. Disingenuous lot.

Three meetings later, and Hannah couldn't help but eye Drake like he was a rabid dog every so often, tensing up when he drew near as if expecting the inevitable bite to the neck to come and honestly being surprised each time it didn't. "You know what they say about anticipation," she teased, but stepped no closer to him and unconsciously touched the absurdly-large canteen hooked at her waist. "And don't try to change the subject. The only people that should know are mine, and I really don't think anyone in our community would willingly share such information with a member of yours." She tilted her head back to stare up at him, gaze accusatory and a mite suspicious.

Casimiro
Freshly roused from sleep, a lonesome sleep and marvelously so, Casimiro had hardly a moment to fully clothe himself before there came a knock to his door, sharp and purposeful. As his mind sluggishly cleared itself of the usual early evening fatigue, he scented the air filtering in from the hallway less as a precaution and more as a preparation for his mood – Drake and Louis fully welcome, anyone else should've possessed the common sense to wait a bit longer for him to wake fully and would receive proper admonishment. But the smell of the stranger waiting just outside his bedroom door was not a familiar one; it was human, definitely, but nothing like those of the servants of the manor that he came into contact with on a daily, routine basis. New blood?

Interested, and suddenly famished, he strode to the door and wrenched it open, eyes immediately dropping to the present that may as well have been gift wrapped and topped off with a festive brightly-colored bow kneeling respectfully at his feet, neck bared. There was no tag, but there needn't have been. The action had Louis written all over it, a morbid take on 'breakfast in bed' that had Casimiro near-swooning (on the inside, of course) and maybe sort of smiling like a smitten teenager. But the smile was wiped away, features carefully schooled before his little treat might've noticed it, and then he was drawing her to her feet graciously, and leading her into his chambers without a word.

A mage. A fire mage, most likely, judging by the uniquely spicy tang of her aroma. A rarity among rarities, and she was entirely his to do with whatever he saw fit. He had to reign in the desire to near-swoon a second time. Louis did so know how to lavish his lovers with exceptional and distinctive gifts.

He'd be gentle with this new plaything, out of consideration for the trouble it likely caused Louis to attain. Pleased, he nudged her onto the unrumpled side of his stately double bed and gingerly swept her hair aside, fingering the fading marks that indicated a prior ownership. Didn't matter. He'd make new ones to cover the old, and then some.

Paige
She fought with herself, the highs and lows of being addicted to the touch of an immortal. She said nothing for he said nothing, secretly she thought it was rude that he didn’t even ask her name, not that she was surprised. She took in the sight of his room and would have known him to be well ranked had she not been told merely by the design of it. It was an uncommonly pretty rich with deep colors of burgundy, sapphire, gold and flecks of sage. The wood around was richly stained, not too dark or too light and she found herself very impressed by the picture.

With her new master she was less impressed. He was not imposing, he was lithe and boyish and she found herself wondering how old he was when he was turned. Figures were not exceptionally important, she reminded herself; he obviously was powerful for he was a king but she idly wondered what type of battles he’d fought to gain his station. Had he bested his opponents with cunning and wit or had it been the blood and had allowed him to ascend. She’d heard that this court was one of great intelligence and that it was a most prized attribute amongst the vampires of Liberty City that one be clever. She was thankful that if this were true that intelligence was not necessarily wanted in what essentially amounted to food.

With all these things running around in her find she followed blindly, scarcely believing that she’d come from the door to his bed without realizing it. His fingers were cold on her neck, and she shivered, an involuntary gesture, as was the sigh that followed it, full of wanting and need.

Ooc: Daniel coming later

OOC: Wooh! First draft of a now 34 page script (title card and all) is done.

Drake
"I guess that would make the both of us." Drake chuckled, turning on his heel and approached Hannah one step at a time. When he saw how Hannah tensed up as Drake drew near, the vampire couldn't help but laugh. Even if he had put off taking Hannah's blood, it didn't mean he wasn't going to take Hannah's blood period. He was saving that for when she didn't expect it.

"I doubt anyone from the vampire community would want to share you the truth." With one hand, he reached out and touched a lock of Hannah's hair before dropping his hand. "Even if they told you anything, chances are they're lying."

His gaze lowered to her hand going on to the canteen, not thinking much of it, before he looked back at Hannah, a small smile spreading across his face. Morbid as it may be, he wasn't so sure what he should be more irritated with: His lack of feeding as of late or Louis' climb to the top after finishing off the emperor.

"Suppose if I were to ask a favor from you."

Kiara
Kiara looked at her best friend and nodded. She understood and saying nothing was probably the best option now. Kiara hated the situation as well, but she just wanted all of this over with so everything will be back to normal, even though it never will be.
"I know it's hard," she replied. "But seeing what the majority say might be better so then we will know what to do." she added.

Miles
"Maybe I just want to do something good," he replied. "I killed my sister. I have to live with that for the rest of my life. Maybe I'm trying to redeem myself." he added stroking his hair with his hand. Miles was just stressed about this whole thing. Now Antonio was back, hopefully not for long, he will try and get along with the guy.
"You're probably the only one of our kind who won't stop me," he said. "I have a feeling my fellow lycans won't be too impressed. I know we have some sort of truce with the mages, but after letting Aya stay with us, I'm not too sure how they'll feel but anyway..." he added with a shrug.

Antonio
Withdrawing the cigarette from his lips, Antonio exhaled the smoke slowly, watching as the smoke lingered in the air.

"My attitude hasn't exactly changed from back then. I don't like the interference but one does have to watch out for the other at times if their life is at stake. I don't really know much about the pack you're staying with, to be honest." A small smile curled his lips, his assumptions having been dead on when he thought Miles' only reason for bothering to put himself up with the mage was not only because she had stayed with him ten years ago, but that he wanted to redeem himself from having murdered his sister.

"I hope you're not looking at that fire mage as a substitute for your own sister."
