Can we please talk about how this show tied Frasier for most Emmy wins EVER?!?!?!???? And how haters need to move to the left? And how amazing was Ty's speech? And how charming Gail is? And how they now hold Emmy and SAG Awards records AND HOW MUCH THESE PEOPLE DESERVE ALL OF THIS????

I've read some of the hate. One stating that everyone loved Frasier so it deserved it but Modern Family.. come on. (By the way I was not one of those "every ones")

I think the upset is because so many new shows have popped up this year so they didn't think a show that started 5 years ago would win it. Well GET OVER IT.

It's an off beat ensemble.. and that made way for others.

Modern Family: I've never seen them have a huge breakout romance or put more focus on one romance or one story than any other, it's all supporting and all ensemble. That's very unusual. We all have our favorites and that is how it should be.
So if it is still as loved as it was 5 years ago and it's still winning awards? That just tells you that this off beat ensemble was perhaps a pioneer in some ways and deserves that honor.

I can't hear everyone's hate over this show winning.

On a serious note, MF reaches a lot of audience. Even kids can watch this show unlike with the other shows nominated, it only caters to a certain demographic and age. Yes there is a gay couple on the show but there is also a kid on the show who happens to be the daughter of this gay couple and she is aware of her parents relationship and I think what the show excelled in is how to address this and make it funny.

I even read a buzzfeed post in which the author said that MF was a show about people who, wait for it, HATE EACH OTHER... B***h you serious? People were calling her out because that's clearly not what the show is about and it was basically a hate post because she was upset her favorite show didn't win. I'm telling you, the comments in that article were glorious.

So, as Drake raps "Versace Versace Versace", we should totally start singing "FIVEPEAT FIVEPEAT FIVEPEAT"

I've edited the OP. I read articles too saying its not funny anymore, (the show winning) but it takes a real talent to consistently win the awards, you can't hate it for being recognised.

They finally showed highlights of the Emmys here, (better late than never) and I watched Sofia do her cameo bit - I'll talk about that in Sofia's thread - and all of them on stage win their award for outstanding comedy series. It was so sweet, to see them all embrace and hug each other, and Ed was cuddling Aubrey - I guess to comfort her on stage which was really sweet. I loved what Steve said, he gives great speeches!

that's a lot of awards. So happy to hear that this show is doing so good and that it's so well received. It really is a special show.
