6x04 "Marco Polo" episode discussion
The Dunphys move into a cramped hotel room while their house is getting treated for mold and Phil (Ty Burrell) sees this as an opportunity to spend some quality time together but Claire (Julie Bowen) and the kids are less than enthused. Gloria (Sofia Vergara) becomes over protective when Manny (Rico Rodriguez) starts dating an older, popular girl, and Cameron (Eric Stonestreet) is under a lot of pressure to maintain his team’s winning streak but when he realizes Mitchell (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) may be a jinx, emotions run high.

I really loved that ep. Most especially the Dunphys SL and the Jay/Manny/Gloria one.
 My least favorite was the Mitch/Cam SL but I still enjoyed it. Lily had a lot of lines in this ep. Mitch made me LOL with this line: "Oh they just let 7 year old's sign for these. Okay." when Lily received the gift bag.  The Jay/Gloria/Manny was hilarious. Manny has a gf and although I knew that it was too good to be true, it still sucks knowing that it didn't last. Gloria was her usual controlling self but that Manny/Jay hug in the end pulled at my heartstrings.  Jay really knows what to say and be objective about it too. Gloria gets too dramatic and she may say the wrong things which will just make Manny even more embarrassed. Finally the Dunphys. At first I felt bad the kids all wanted to be with Claire but the bottom line was Phil deliberately made it a point for all of them to stay in one room so that they will bond. And I loved that about him.  I was expecting for a tearful reunion but the Marco Polo game in the pool was just as brilliant. __________________

I felt it started off slow, but the ending was PERFECT. I love Manny and Jay. I feel like when Jay talks to Manny his advice is different to what Gloria offers, but Jay is really making the effort which I love. I do feel for Manny I just want him to meet someone nice and who will like him for him!
The Dunphys had a great story too,and especially Phil saying Claire left him for another (room)! Lily showed a lot of sass in her scenes, and she's really acting well now. I love that Mitch is talking to her about Cam __________________

I agree on the Manny/Jay scene. Jay is the best.
I still think his character is one of the under-appreciated ones. Some of the best emotional moments come from him (including that one with Lily who was scared to dance and the Mitch/Jay fight). Lily is just pure sass! I think she's picking up a lot after her fathers who are sassier than her. I was really expecting Claire to realize what Phil was doing. I didn't like that she booked another room and didn't tell him only to be found out later on. __________________

yeah that really wasn't nice of Claire but who could blame her? she just wanted some peace xd and Phil was so adorable
"your mother's leaving us for another room that makes her happy." xD and then "-you can visit her at the weekends. -aren't we here for just one more day?"  I loved that. and the way they all cheered Phil up at the end was so sweet ^^ btw, such bad luck that the Nigerians barely understood anything Phil said but of all things they got "you guys should stop by" about the football game, the team had such a huge lead when there were only a few minutes left and they still almost lost it?? I'm telling you it's not Mitchell's doing, coach should blame himself for that  and Jay did a great job making Manny feel better  __________________

I don't get American football so some of it was lost on me but when Mitch turned up to cheer Cam on it was super sweet. Love Mitch getting stuck though. __________________

I'm no expert, I watch it occasionally but I know that if a team has such a huge lead and there's like 5 minutes left, the only thing left to do is just holding the ball, maybe throwing it out and stalling for time
but that's not important anyway__________________
