3x15 "Aunt Mommy" episode discussion
Episode Synopsis: After closing on the sale of a house to Mitch and Cam’s friends, Phil and Claire take the two of them out for a celebratory dinner where they proceed to over-indulge in drinks, which leads to some over-sharing, and finally results in waking up the next morning hung over and begging the question – if you’ll do anything for family, shouldn’t there still be a line drawn somewhere? — on “Modern Family,” WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 15 (9:00-9:31 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.

I'm not sure if it was great episode, but it sure had a lot of really good moments, including:
-Phil's dorky Elton John and Danny Aiello jokes. -Haley figuring out the purpose of a seeing eye dog and Alex's realization that her father was right about her sister eventually getting it if you leave her alone to work through it. -Clair's pride at the kids taking care of the mess, and then her realization that no one will like Alex. -Jay's 'this kid really needs to play football" mantra with Manny. -Manny on the scooter, knocking everything over as he's trying to back out of the kitchen. -The way Mitchell, Phil and especially Claire looked with their hangovers.... and the comparison to Cam, who was just fine and dandy. -Gloria's reaction to the idea of Cam and Claire having a baby. -On an emotional note, the bits with Claire and Mitchell under the table and Jay taking away four of the pennies were very sweet. -My single favorite moment of the night? Luke's rant on Lilly.  __________________

I love everything in this plus Gloria's reaction to Cam and Clarie having a baby.. That's my reaction..
But everything in this episode seriously crack me up! __________________

I absolutely loved this episode. What I loved most about it was how it all seemed to fit together and how it was a very family centered episode, especially Mitchell and Claire. I absolutely cracked up when they were all drunk and Claire and Phil react in the most ridiculous ways when they are drunk and couldn't believe it when she offered to have their baby. I loved when Haley was going off on the sight dogs, and how she tried to figure it all out herself and Alex letting her!
JustMe2000 I'm curious, why you think it wasn't "great" Or just not your favourite? Oh and I loved Gloria supporting Claire and Mitchell even though she thought it was freak show __________________

I have to agree. It wasn't my favourite episode, it wasn't that "great" for me but it has it's moments.
The whole idea of Claire giving her eggs to Cam was hilarious for starters but to me it was freakish so I was glad they both opposed to it the day after, when the alcohol settled. At the same time, the Gloria/Manny penny collection was...an underwhelming storyline (like really)? I did like that Jay had a life lesson and kept them grounded but I was hoping they'd use another storyline for it.  I love Manny in that mobile chair. It's so very Manny. And double yes on Luke's rants on Lily - this kid will never let up on Lily pushing him. Favourite moment is of course Claire & Mitch under the table talking about how they don't want to do it (thank God, it'll be so awkward) and the Mitch/Cam scene with those photoshopped photos. I swear...laughing so hard at that part.  __________________

I knew they weren't going to go through with it. Its a nice sacrifice idea, but obviously they were drunk

And sometimes I despise drinking with the family but it's fun when you're sober and your parents & aunts & uncles are all drunk.

There's always a sense of embarrassment when you're getting drunk around family but luckily they were all hammered. I just find it funny that Mitch and cam were suffering as bad as Phil and Claire.
