hmmm....they're not friends....that's the part that I wish Diana and Cassie would call Faye out on more....but they're so wrapped up in their own stuff, it's like Melissa is nearly helpless.....

Melissa is insecure but she's also insanely loyal. Faye is Faye. If she didn't have Melissa, she would have no one. Faye treats everyone terribly but at least we have seen more on one occasion that she cares about Melissa.

In the scene where Faye says "go be ordered around by a party planner dictator" she wasn't bullying Melissa. Just trying to manipulate Melissa to get her to hang out with her and do what she wants her to do. Faye did the same exact thing when Melissa started dating Nick. I'm not sure if that's better or worse than bullying her.

I think she just wants Melissa to be her friend and no one else's. If Melissa spends more time with Diana or whoever that means less time that she will spend Faye. Faye just doesn't want to lose her only friend.

Melissa isn't helpless. She's 16 and that's old enough to make your own decisions. She can either punch Faye in the face already for treating her like dirt or stay and be her friend and just take it. She has decided to be her friend. Their friendship is pretty one sided but hopefully won't be like that forever.
