No, Ethan (Josh Hartnett) was first involved with Brona (Billie Piper) until her death and later with Hecate Poole (Sarah Poole). In fact, Ethan killed Vanessa (Eva Green) in the end, saving her from evil. I think it was made clear throughout the series that this was always where it was headed – Vanessa fighting off Satan and her fear of failing one day, Ethan's task was to prevent that.
Vanessa was portrayed as bisexual I'd say. What she had with Mina (Olivia Llewellyn) was more than friendship and she did sleep with Dorian (Reeve Carney) but tired of him quickly. __________________

Ah, that's interesting. Didn't someone say they were trying to do away with X-men and replace it with Inhumans or something? Something about copyright battles and studio executives being terrible... anyway. Glad you found a new show!
