Yeah, seriously. To think saying such things is okay, just really isn't okay. Makes me even more curious about the time period. Which is kind of weird because I'm sure when I was studying my major there were references to the family but I just didn't catch them because it wasn't important at the time

It's the norm back then. Most of the gossips back then started in court and usually surrounds the peers. The most scandalous it is, the better and everyone wants to know. The people who spreads the gossip, or the person who have first hand knowledge of the gossip is usually welcome in more social circle.

They don't have movie theater back then so I guess this is their form of entertainment

Yes they have to make their own entertainment back then I can imagine all the gossips in the Vatican and in the social circles

Oh gosh! This reminds of the protocol that they had within their palaces/villas. The way people were received and the etiquette process in it was just crazy (for some reason this just came to me out of nowhere ). The way people acted back then was just totally different from how things are today

Seriously! Although in some ways I don't think I'd mind so much since I tend to be an etiquette marm anyway . But it's so strange to think that everyone used to live by those rules and now we're just like 'whatever'

I hope we get more Father/Daughter scenes in S2
