I believe the Vikings were Germanic, not Celtic.

Is he your grandfather? I thought the modern French were descended from the Franks, who were Germanic, not the Gauls. Or are you or Celtic ancestry?

Yeah, the Vikings were Norse. They were different from the Celts.

Hitler appropriated everything in the Third Reich from other cultures. He took the Swastika from Hindu Sanskrit, the eagle and the red flags from the Romans, and the "Aryan" name from ancient Persia and India.

When we were at school, we were taught "our ancestor the Gauls". We aren't Germanic

Oh, okay. I read the only reason France is called that name is because of the Franks who invaded ancient Gaul during the time of Charlemagne.
