I mean, I can't understand Lizzie, but she was trying to protect her new family.

Well, this is why I prefer TWQ to TWP. Regardless of the history or Philippa Gregory's novel, Lizzie doesn't come across too well here. She starts to resemble Margaret Beaufort rather than her own mother, Elizabeth Woodville. __________________

Elizabeth Woodville could be quite ruthless too. And unlike Margaret Beaufort – as you can remember from TWQ – she had a better life.

I think it's easy to vilify Margaret Beaufort but at the end of the day one has to remember two things (a) some of the stuff Gregory/the TWP writers definitely made up she defiinitely did not kill Jasper for example and (b) she had a really hard life, being married to Edmund Tudor at the age of 12 and then the guy was so much older than her and didn't have the decency to wait until she was at least a few years older (which even in those times was custom) to consummate the marriage, she got pregnant at the age of twelve, had Henry when she was thirteen, it was such a difficult birth that the midwives thought she would die, meanwhile her husband was imprisioned by some rival Welsh lord and died of the plague... and then she had to marry again and basically hardly ever got to see her son, meanwhile that early pregnancy and birth had hurt her so much that she couldn't have any more children, which by the way was one of the reasons why she insisted that Henry and Lizzie would wait for their daughter Margaret to be married to James IV of Scotland until she was older because she didn't want her granddaughter to experience the same thing...

Ouch. Margaret Beaufort was married to Edmund Tudor at age 12 and he got her pregnant at that age? Was he a moron or something? It doesn't take a genius to realize that a girl that young isn't fully formed and matured yet, and a pregnancy could damage her and the child, or kill them both.
And with only a 12 year age difference, I guess Henry and Margaret would've looked more like they did in TWQ than in TWP, I guess. __________________

This is why I'm saying that not everything was/is black and white in this world.

Hi, Barbara!
I don't think we're doing the TWP watch today. Arinna has a sore throat and isn't feeling well. When do you think you'll be able to watch the final episode with us? __________________
