You never know, Arinna. This season could be better.

Just one line in a new interview with Stelio Savante

Peter Bishai’s “Rapid Eye Movement” hits really soon. I star opposite Francois Arnaud.

Welcome to the board! I'm Lila. It's nice to have another Cesar Borgia fan here! I've admired him forever & and would've likely fallen madly in love with that gorgeous sexy man if I'd ever met him I agree completely with your description of his character I love that he was ruthless & cunning. He knew what he wanted and took it (quite possibly even his own sister ) but he didn't kill anyone who didn't need killing Was it Machiavelli? or Sabatini? who said "Cesar Borgia was utterly without principle, save his one guiding principle - the achievement and maintenance of his own power, by any means available." He'd have accomplished so much and been an unbeatable force had Rodrigo lived & had he not underestimated that spawn of satan, della Rovere

You're right, he always signed his name without the "e". So as a sign respect & affection for him, I will remember to write it that way, too. Thanks for the reminder

I'm glad François isn't a bigger star. I admire him for not seeking fame and remaining true to his values. So you're british? Another european here on the board I'm french, but lived in London for a while & his accent was perfect. I did know he was french canadian, because I've loved him as an actor (and lusted after his body ) since seeing him in Les Grandes Chaleurs

Is Rapid Eye Movement already out? I'm looking forward to seeing it. Honestly, I'm not a fan of Midnight Texas, but would watch him staring at paint dry, especially if he was naked He WAS Cesar Borgia. Like Arinna said here, when you do a google search for Cesar, François' picture shows up. He's defended Cesar Borgia in interviews saying that he loves him even though he did very bad things, and feels like he can relate to him, cause he's got the same kind of darkness inside of him. Both are fascinating men on all kinds of levels.

There’s also the attraction of the cold, calculating mind hidden beneath a charming exterior. I’d rather someone who was ruthless but kept bloodshed to a minimum over someone softer who caused greater suffering through incompetence.
Over the years, I haven’t kept up the subject, but when I hear of a TV series about the Borgias, my ears prick up.

Between 2011-13 I didn’t have time for a new obsession. I watched seasons 1 and 2 of The Borgias and mostly liked what I saw but I’m not sure I saw season 3. I know that I was pleasantly surprised by the actors playing the younger Borgias and that I looked up François Arnaud and was surprised that he wasn’t English (I’m British and his accent fooled me). He doesn’t look that much like Cesar Borgia but his portrayal was closer to the version I’d carried in my head for decades: for the most part, quietly-spoken and controlled but also clever and devious.

Coming up to date, I had a conversation with someone who was watching The Borgias and wondered why François Arnaud isn’t a bigger star and that prompted me to re-watch the entire series (twice) and also research M. Arnaud’s subsequent career. I seem to have acquired a new obsession and I’m enjoying the thrill of the chase. I still have no idea why he isn’t a bigger star but I’m also glad that he doesn’t spend all of his time on blockbuster movies.

Hi, Lila!

I actually agree with you about Francois not being a bigger star. Big stars usually aren't that accessible. I'm glad that we still have Francois in more accessible stuff like Midnight, Texas.

Hi Alex & Arinna! I'm really hoping season 2 of MT will be better than the first. Losing Creek is a big improvement. Sarah Ramos had zero chemistry with François. They shouldn't have cast her in a romantic role with him. He was completely out of her league, so the lack of chemistry was probably cause he didn't fancy her. You could sense his lack of interest & I felt embarrassed for her. It was awkward to watch.

Hi Anticipation! Thanks for the promo link

He does have great hair, doesn't he? I like it, too. Too bad he doesn't let it grow longer. I loved his hair in season 3 of The Borgias, but I have a thing for guys with long curly hair
