exactly how I feel about them. I just can't ship them and I ship couples with chemistry and mostly adult couples like Catherine x Henry, I usually don't ship younger couples I don't know why though but it happened with Lucrezia and Cesare, they had a lot of chemistry and I guess it's also because I see young Catherine and Henry in them I shipped them even before watching the show and even now... I haven't watched the whole tv show only 6 episodes but I saw their scenes on YT and the actors are making them so interesting!

Well, my issue with Jaime and Cersei is like you said, they seem to be driven more by lust than love, which is why it's so easy to ship Cesare and Lucrezia. The irony is that Cesare and Lucrezia only got that one love scene, while Jaime and Cersei got plenty. It's not fair, isn't it? I think that recently on GOT they've tried to put more emotion into Jaime and Cersei's relationship, possibly thinking that after The Borgias they needed to step up their game. But Cesare and Lucrezia as played by Francois and Holliday just had something exquisite that made you ignore the fact that they were siblings.

Well, on S2 Jaime told Lady Stark he's been always faithful to his sister, while Cersei's sleeping with her girlish cousin (keep it in the family) . Not that I ship the Lannisters now, but if he had no other woman, it means he's really commited to her.

I'd ship CL even if they were not siblings, but the fact that they are bro-sis makes it so forbidden, so painful for them, that it wouldn't be the same if they were not related.

Yes, the chemistry between the characters is overwhelming, though I think it's François who makes it so special. They way he looks at Lucrezia since the very beginning of the show, makes me shudder and feel dizzy, lol.
And also when he doesn't look at Lucrezia , and just shuts down his eyes while he's hugging her.



I've liked other couples, but only shipped one couple so hard as CL before, Oscar ( she's a woman) and André from Lady Oscar (aka The Rose of Versailles). I just root for impossible love, and their love story reminds me a lot of CL even if they were not siblings, they grew up together, meant everything for each other, shared a whole life together, and their relationship was so sibling like. He's so in love with her, but can't say a word because he's so afraid, and everything ended up a mess, even if they finally give in to their feelings. They even resemble CL, she's has blonde long curly hair, his is curly and dark and has green eyes. So beautiful.

And why I find it endlessly funny that Francois told Neil Jordan from day 1 of shooting C/L scenes>> U don't want us to show so much affection between C/L? BUT that's what YOU wrote And why here we've called Francois the "Original C/L shipper".

And yeah, even Francois had to call Neil Jordan out about his scenes with Holliday. You can't say that all of those early scenes with Cesare and Lucrezia didn't have any romantic subtext. The first scene with the two of them lying on the grass gazing at each other was right out of Twilight. And that scene where Cesare vowed to cut out the heart of her husband if he proved ungallant was overtly sexual, as he forced her against a wall as she smiled back at him, like they were gonna do it right then and there.

Cesare was in love with Lucrezia since the beginning of the show. He's always hugging her, calling her "my love", he knows there's something more than brotherly love, but I think he was scared . But the way he looks at her, how she treats her, how she touches her. Clearly you can see his jealousy, he's a possesive and also over protective brother . There's a lot of UST between them, and that's because how they played their characters.

Lucrezia was so much younger, she didn't realize what she felt. You're supposed to love a brother. Italian and spaniards ( Borgias are both) are very affectionate people, we touch all the time, she could easily mistake her true feelings. Lucrezia was always close to Cesare, but they became closer when he showed her how faithful he was towards her, by killing Juan. She also tried to kill him before. That's a turning point for both, and things rushed pretty much on season 3, while we had almost nothing on season 2.
After Juan's death, they feel more bonded that ever, sharing a huge secret, and the feeling that no one else will ever understand them better than themselves, hence Lucrezia's famous quote.

Thank God for François, he portrayed so perfectly his character and his feelings to the point of having an argument with Jordan ( lol ). I honestly can't imagine another actor playing Cesare like he did . I also think writers didn't even intend to go so far. I've read they finally decided to film these very intense scenes between the siblings ( which are so uncommon on mainstream shows) , because they knew the show wasn't renewed, and thought: what the hell, let's go for it!!!

Btw , I found out, there's a Disney show called the Wizards of Waverly place, and a lot of people shipped the siblings Alex and Justin (played by Selena Gómez and David Henrie) back then when it aired. Unbelievable!! A Disney show I've been watching a few clips and I'm sure the writers did it all on purpose, the actors behaved like they were a couple not siblings. Apparently the fandom became so huge producers were scared, so many teens shipping a sibling couple.
So nope, don't feel weird if you ship a "different" kind of pairing, haha.

The cartoon pic is from Lady Oscar, they remind me so much of CL, OMG. If anyone has time you could give it a shot, watch the anime or read the manga. It's really worth it.

Speaking of comics versions, there's also a manga by Fuyumi Soryo who portraits Cesare's early life. The series are called simply "Cesare" and it's still being published
(10 volumes so far ). The drawings are so beautiful, but apparently there isn't much CL interaction , the author focuses more on war and political events ( at least for now, since her work is still on progress), besides Lucrezia is still a child.

Maybe Showtime got inspired by her work (she started publishing back in 2005) , she depicts Cesare as a young man with curly dark hair, while the real Cesare had straight auburn hair.
