In all honesty, I never shipped Damon with anyone. However, seeing how the show played out I just wouldn't be able to stomach Stefan "taking Elena back" (and yeah, I shipped Stelena back in the days.) I really like Steroline, they're cute together. It's the best option for the show at this point, in my opinion.

They were really good as best friends for me. She was his new Lexi, but as something more? Nah, not really. While Cesare and Lucrezia here had the best chemistry on the show, I think the same went for Stefan/Elena. And yes, I can see them back.

Well... Thing is, nobody can match Cesare and Lucrezia. Nobody whatsoever. I am utterly convinced I will never see a more perfect pairing on a screen in my life.
I think Damon and Elena had great sparks back when the actors were actually dating, but now, it's painful to watch. I'm pretty certain Nina is thinking "oh God, please put me back with Paul, or well, anyone else". Paul is a pretty vocal S/C supporter, though. He seems to really enjoy that pairing. __________________

I agree with you about Cesare and Lucrezia. No one could even match them! And Paul is an actor. He might engoy that pairing now, but I think they'd eventualy go back to Stelena. They were the main couple of the show, at least this is how everything started.
