It reminds of me so much of Pre-Raphaelite and Victorian art. They loved painting renassaince and medieval themes, and also tragedy and impossible love. The light , colours, the composition of the picture is just like a painting. Francis Sidney Muschamp Victorian 19th century art is superb. I can see Cesare and Lucrezia on these paintings: Frederic Leighton- The Golden Hours Frederic Leighton- The Honeymoon Sorry, maybe it was a bit off topic. __________________

I'm a bit obssesed with the 'painting like' scenes on the show.
I can almost see brushstrokes on Vanozza's gown. the light on this one...amazing. __________________

You're absolutely right, Maria. Neil Jordan did direct several scenes from the series as if they were renaissance paintings. That's why they have so much texture. Stanley Kubrick did something similar in his movies.
