I think this season has been a filler season. But things started moving forward when Juan came back. I enjoyed some moments but some storylines have been ridiculous or just cringe worthy.
I think next season is going to be a lot better. Quote:

 And I hope you are right, that this was just the sophomore season let down (or there is an official term for this when a show's quality declines in its second season but picks up in its third again). __________________
