Alex, I do agree that american TV is more "puritan" than European TV as in local networks. For example, in the UK you don't need to have cable to watch shows with some nudity and where there's swearing while in the US you have to be watching Netflix, HBO or Showtime to get that.
Is the same in most of Latinamerica, in local networks they do not curse, do not show nudity but can be extremely violent and no one says a thing. Of course if you watch HBO LA and other networks all that is allowed. I also think that US television can be extremely violent and they have nothing against that, they really don't "protect" the children when is about violence but only when is about sexual content and profanity. |

Oh, I wasn't talking about television protecting children, May. I was talking about age of consent laws and statutory rape in the USA, how it's not really allowed for a twenty-something teacher to get involved with someone under 18. And I agree with you about violence on TV, but they're also getting bolder with sexual content these days as well. Look at Game of Thrones.

Maybe you don't see American culture as puritan because you have always lived there, but you would probably if you came to live in France or Denmark for instance. Also, pornography and crude scenes are a paradoxical result of puritanism. |

Well, it might also be because I live in Pennsylvania, near Philadelphia. Cultural standards in the USA are different depending on what state you're living in. I've always told Europeans that the USA is very different from what they're used to because we're a country divided into 50 states, which is very different from countries in Europe. And we're a very large country that's practically the size of Europe itself, and our population is far more diverse and less homogeneous than European countries. I think some parts of the USA are more "puritan" than others, and some are more free-spirited than others. But as far as Aria and Ezra are concerned, it's more to do with the appropriateness of their situation. I'm totally pro-Aria/Ezra, but even I understand why some people have issues with them. They're not really close to the same age because Ezra was in his mid-twenties and just out of college, while Aria was maybe sixteen when they first met. And he was her teacher, which violates a lot of academic ethical rules.

I know, Arinna. Heroes: Reborn has killed off Claire Bennet, just to add insult to injury to us Paire shippers.

Where's the pic from? and what about killing Claire? WHAT???
Jumping the subject but please reply to my questions cause I really want to know I started a new dramedy show called Billy & Billie that I managed to finish in less than a day since it's only 10 episodes and 25 min each. This show only showed exclusively for DIRECTV customers so not many know about it yet since the show just became available online last month. I watched several promos for it and it looked more like a rom-com than anything else, a bit silly and kinda meh. Main plot tells you is about step siblings called Billy and Billie who start having sex randomly and are kinda into each other but no one knows of course. Well I decided to give it a try and is way better than that. First of all the actors do have great chemistry: Might not be evident on gif form but it is when you watch the show. You feel for both characters because they're so like their parents, he's very much like his father and she's very much like her mother and they're really trying not to be because their parents are messed up. Is very interesting because the dynamic changes and sometimes you feel like you're watching brother/sister and then they have sexual chemistry and start kissing? The script feels like is very natural and doesn't really feel like a proper script really. I seriously recommend it. Is not hilarious but it makes you giggle and there are other interactions besides theirs, which is obviously the main one, that are interesting too. In particular, Drew/Billie are hilarious together. Dunno if sharing the teaser is a good idea because honestly the teaser makes the show look way lamer but oh well. Here it is Also the teasers make it look like their parents just got married... not really, they've been family since she was 13 and he was 15 and eventually you get to know that they were into each other since then but never acted on it until recently. Tim Kring, the writer of Heroes, said that she died during a terrorist attack in Odessa an year before the events of Heroes: Reborn. This is why according to him, could explain why she's not in the show. No word about why Peter is not there. I'm guessing the explanation will be similar to this.

I don't understand either and they already stole a Peter's line from the old Heroes! I don't approve!

But I thought the show had not premiered yet? I didn't know it was already out/available.
I don't know, I gotta admit the promo made me nostalgic cause of the old heroes showing up but I don't trust those writers they didn't know what they were doing after S1 and I'm sure is the same for this show now. |
