And as for Shadowhunters, they'd better do something with Simon and Izzy soon, because they're into the third season and I think they already became a couple in the books by now.
They don't seem interested in doing that though from how it looks. I think Simon is going to be with Mia for the time being and I actually think they make an okay couple so far, she makes him less whiny. But I'm generally not really interested in that part of the story tbh.

I actually think that CC has talked to tvline about how he'd continue without Scully and I'm like, no how about let's not because honestly, I think somebody else said that better than I ever could: we had a Scully (& friends) show in the last two seasons of the original run and there you go see Scully breaking in new partners, keeing the X-Files running, searching for Mulder, powering through it all while being pregnant and giving birth just with the help of whale sounds. Meanwhile half an episode of Mulder being alone, it's him being desperate, pulling his hair out and crying for Scully. Do we really want this as a solo show?

Actually Shonda Rhimes is not the problem, funnily she usually stuck with pairings she decided early on, it's the new showrunner Krista Vernoff who is making all the terrible decisions now, Rimes has moved on to her Netflix deal and is no longer involved with the show.

And yes, 'The Magicians' is on Syfy.

I don't know, they teased Sizzie at the Comic Con.

Don't worry about the double posts, Nina. My co-mod on the X-Men board says the exact same thing when he double posts.

Arinna is right, they did tease Simon/Isabelle at Comic Con, and they also seemed to foreshadow them last season. I'm not the least bit interested in Mia, to be honest. I think Simon was also less whiny in his scenes with Izzy. He only seemed whiny around Clary.

Did Chris Carter actually say that? Because I read an article that said he wouldn't do another season without Scully. And I agree, doing the show without Scully would be just as bad if not worse than those last two seasons where Mulder was gone for most of the time and Scully had to work with Doggett and Reyes, and we know what happened to Reyes. She ended up working for Cigarette Man and got shot and killed by Skinner, who only ended up getting run over by Cigarette Man's car. I don't see how he comes back from that. But I would like to see an explanation as to how Scully got pregnant and what's gonna happen with William. And I will say that a few of the episodes this season reminded me of classic X-Files, like 'Plus One'(great Mulder/Scully moments), 'The Lost Art of Forehead Sweat'(another great episode by Darin Morgan), and 'Familiar,' which was like Stephen King's IT.

Oh, so Shonda is off the show now? No wonder the shows are getting rid of actors left and right. But to be honest, I really didn't like those shows when Shonda was still around.

Well, Mia is here to stay, they added her to the opening credits. And yeah, I don't know on this show they change partners every five minutes for five seconds, so you may totally get your pair for five of those seconds sometime in the middle of the second half of the season or something. Who knows. I just really hate the guy who plays Simon... the character is not great to begin with but he makes him worse for my personal taste. I liked him better in the movie though the movie was a bit whatever.

Yes, there's the problem though... I think we all agree that at this point we really prefer the standalone episodes over CC's convoluted mystery stuff and the way Reyes's character was retconned was also so wtf, it had nothing to do with her character in the orginial run. Oh, in that tvline interview he said that we probably wouldn't see much of William/Jackson again and as for Skinner he's alive. I'm like, okay. Whatever.

I like 'Grey's Anatomy' well enough in the beginning. Then I stuck around for certain characters. The only other Shonda show I tired to watch was 'Scandal' and that is just a terrible show in itself because the whole concept is completely stupid.

I liked GA at the beginning and it was good up until season 5 or 6 I think?

Hi, Nina! OMG, will someone tell Spring to arrive already? I hate this chilly weather. I need warmth and I need April here now.

Well, even if Mia has been bumped up to a main cast member, that's still no guarantee that Simon will stay with her. I still think they're an uninteresting couple, and fans of the books are gonna want Simon and Izzy together just like Jace and Clary. I know I'll probably have to wait a while, but I'm willing to see where this season goes. And I know what you mean about Simon, but again, I think that stuff gets muted when he's with Izzy. Simon was at his most annoying when he was with Clary. But I do think that movie Simon and Clary actually had more chemistry with each other.

Well, I agree with you about the stand alone episodes, Nina. I think that CC pretty much gave up on the alien colonization plotline, although I'd like to know what happened and who won the civil war between the short grey aliens and the taller, shape shifting bounty hunter grey aliens. I'm assuming that the little Greys lost and that's why the colonization of Earth was abandoned. But now Cigarette Man and what's left of his accomplices are trying to finish what the Greys began, by bringing about an extinction level event to start human civilization all over again, only in their image. I get that... it's very Dr. Evil and that stuff, and more like a comic book villain thing which is driven by ideology. So at least the convoluted alien plotline has been ended because I don't think it really has much relevance post-9/11. There's a lack of urgency with that plotline these days.

I do like the stand alone episodes, or what I like to call the "Kolchack" episodes. They were usually the best episodes of the original series as well, so I still think that The X-Files can continue if Gillian ever changes her mind. But I wouldn't want it to go on without her, and I don't think David or Chris would either. And if we didn't see much of William again, I wouldn't mind because he's not Mulder's son after all. I'd much prefer to see what happens with Mulder and Scully's actual child. And Skinner's alive? How the hell did he survive that? And while I think the thing with Reyes sucks, I was never that much invested in her character or Doggett anyway.

Oh, Scandal just seemed stupid from the get go. Those shows just seem like present day versions of Dallas or Dynasty, but lacking the panache.

Yeah, I'm not keen on April and May here, it'll just mean more up and down in temperatures but no more heat in my freezing flat.

There are fans of the books? Because honestly, I wouldn't watch if this had anything to do with the books. I just can't with that author and the whole plagiarism she did when this was still fanfic. Copying pages and pages verbatim from out of print fantasy novels and just changing the names of the characters... I can't with this...

Oh yes, for sure. Then again, I'm biased because I liked Robert Sheehan much better and maybe the writing for his version of the character. And well, let's be honest, Lily Collins is the better actress.

I think CC got bored with it himself and half-assed his way out of it tbh.

I agree.

As for Reyes, I must say, invested or not, it just shows CC's disrespect for female characters. He wouldn't have thought to retcon Doggett like this, I don't think.

Speaking of that Dynasty reboot... that was about the lamest most predictable entrance for the Alexis character that anyone could have thought of... Joan Collins wouldn't be pleased if she cared.

Actually Nina, CC wanted to bring Doggett back just for what Spencer did in the first episode of this season apparently. Basically he wanted him back just because and then he decided to bring Reyes back just to ruin her and kill her with no explanation whatsoever. WOW.

Thing about TXF S8 was that, first of all, Doggett was a likable character, maybe not in the first 2-3 episodes but eventually he became very likable and he was nice to Scully and all in all the show was about them trying to find Mulder and eventually he came back for the second half of the season so IMO S8 didn't feel as weak as S9 for example, not only because Mulder was gone for good but because no one cared about the main plot and Gillian was barely in it as well. Instead they brought Reyes that honestly wasn't bad but wasn't great either

But we had Gillian in season 8, Gillian can act and those scenes where she thinks Mulder is never coming back, all the angst, etc were well acted. Imagine seeing that with Mulder now. I would rather take my eyes out, David can't act for **** anymore, and not like he did a great job back in the day, just go back to one breath and you'll see how a season of that would be unbearable.

Not only because of all this the show shouldn't come back but because they killed Skinner and Reyes and yeah CSM and William are alive. SO? Without Scully and Skinner what are we going to see? Mulder boding with his non son? it makes no sense and also what about Scully's pregnancy? was it all a dream AGAIN?

Yeah, I know, he wanted him back for one of the "My Struggle" installments. My point stands though, I really doubt he would have done that to him but Reyes was fair game. Like doing every reprehensible thing Scully suffered over the course of the whole show was totally fine, Mulder didn't have to go through any of this.

Yes, S8 had the carrot of Mulder's return, whereas we didn't get much of that in S9 but still I think they established that Reyes essentially became Scully's friend. I find that really hard to reconcile with what was done this season.

Who knows. I find that CC is in a hubris bubble where he likes to think that he is actually what makes the show great and people are not mainly tuning in for the Scully and Mulder show.

I agree Nina,

I think CC believes he's the motor of the show and he believes he's still talented and he believes the fandom is still there partially for him, when really the fandom is still there simply thanks to Gillian and David's chemistry.

Hi, May! Hi, Nina!

Do you really think that CC believes the show can go on without Gillian? He has to know how much the fandom suffered after David left briefly in season 8 and 9, so how does he think they're supposed to go on without Gillian? And Nina said that Skinner is actually still alive, May. Although how he pulled that off is beyond me.

Well, I think the reason Doggett wasn't back was because Robert Patrick is now on CBS' Scorpion, so he probably wasn't available. But regardless, how they handled Reyes sucked.

Well this week's weather is supposed to get warmer, Nina. But it's also gonna rain. But I think that April is supposed to be warmer like Spring.

OMG, you've seen the Dynasty reboot? I didn't even bother. They've made a mockery out of the characters, and I don't think anyone from the original show cares about this version. I can't believe it hasn't gotten cancelled yet.

Yeah, there are fans of The Mortal Instruments books, Nina. Yes, I know it's derivative and probably plagiarism, but the show has fans of the books who watch it. I think Simon and Clary were the only two characters from the movie I liked, but I must say I prefer the Isabelle from Shadowhunters. She and Simon actually click. I didn't get that from the movie versions.

No, you know, a lot of things are derivative. Like I'd say 'Harry Potter' is so derivative, it's a bit painful but Cassandra Clare actually committed plagiarism by copying not just plotlines but whole passages word for word from out-of-print fantasy novels before she was found out. That's different, that's stealing. I have no respect for that. Therefore I could never ever read a book of hers even though what she did, she did before it was published.

Personally I don't see any chemistry with Simon at all but I do prefer Emeraude Toubia's protrayal to Jemima West's also though I really liked the latter in "Indian Summers".

I'm not watching it as such but I wanted to see how Nicolette Sheridan would do as Alexis... so I tuned in for that. Looks like Fallon has actually married her long-lost brother Adam (who for the time being calls himself Liam/Charles) in this one. In the original he only flirted with her to insinute himself into the family from what I recall.

I hope FOX understand what CC doesn't and remembers how people were not really on board with one half of the duo gone.

The only thing I'm really really loving besides "The Magicians" at the moment is "The Worst Witch". So adorable.

The weather is not getting this warm consitantly until the end of May, say.
