Well I hadn't originally thought we'd get it for months yet... or at this point mid-October, so we'd start planning toward the end of September. But if the goal is to hit 10k by the end of September then we'll have to get to planning soonish, especially if we want it to be special to just our board

So what goes into the planning? Can I help at all?

Well normally there's banners, icons, and other arts. But then there can also be written stuff, and really we can decide to do whatever we want to celebrate. I can link to a bunch of different board celebrations to give kind of an idea of what can be done.

ETA:

Some of my faves:

I really like the fan awards they did with the celebration at Leighton:

And at Game of Thrones we were talking about doing favorite moments or something instead of testimonials.. Hmm. If I'm brainstorming already perhaps we should just open the prep thread already.

Wow those all look really cool. Should we make a seperate thread to discuss preparations for our 10K or just discuss our ideas/contributions in here?

You might want to rethink marrying the lines "Kids are dead! Kids are dead!" ("Happy days are here again.").

It can have a title, or it can just a be a boring prep thread, whatever we want

Which is why we love them so.

Hm... how about that variation on the famous quote by Johann Tetzel, Domenican monk and Alexander VI's contemporary:

"As soon as 10k in the papal coffer rings, the soul from purgatory's fire springs."

That's a good quote! But would it be better to use it for the actual 10k celebration or just for the prep?

Doesn't matter to me depends on if you think we can think of a better title for the actual celebration
