Yeah
 I can't imagine Sam not coming back to help him out. He'll be shocked when he comes back to the Wall and finds out that Jon was not only killed by the brothers but also regained command of Winterfell  __________________

I don't know if he can be there... he's with Gilly, and if he really wants to be a family with her he can't be at Castle Black... but then again he also swore his life the Night's Watch so he might want to stay there to go through with his vow

It's complex for sure. He can't broke his vow, like Jon has a good reason to, technicalities and such. But Sam, he did want to be a Maester... Perhaps it'll work in his favour with Edd as Lord Commander? Then again, the Night's Watch probably has bigger priorities than a girl and child right now.

Right?! It's going to be hard to find a good way to resolve that for a happy ending for all of them. But as Lord Commander, maybe Edd can bend the rules, after all Gilly can be helpful
