Exactly, that's one of the many reasons why I love them, Gendry and Arya's friendship is one of the very few relationships in the story that actually feel real and sincere. And the way Joe and Maisie play the parts is just perfect.

OMG I don't have HBO and haven't read the books but from clips online of the show I fell for these two and want to read the books now.

Spoiler me guys...do they have a brother/sister relationship in the books? She's like 11 and he's 16 right? Oh it'd be 10X easier to ship them if she was like 13-14 instead hahahahaa. please add me too!

There's a new interview with Joe Dempsie, and he talks a little about Arya and Gendry's relationship:

I liked that he admits there's a potential romance for them in the books, though he says he doesn't see it happening in the show

I just want their relationship on the show to develop the same way it was in the books, obviously nothing can happen now, since Arya is still a girl, but they could show that a romance could happen somewhere in the future if they meet again, when Arya is older and the age gap is not that much of an issue.
