So she survived the season and will definitely come back for the Great War.
Hopefully we will know why she's so old

It will be interesting to see her again... but I don't see why she would be back knowing that the WW are coming and that lots of people want her dead in Westeros

Yeah, I don't get why she would want to, and why we would need her to?

exactly... unless she has some big prophecy or power that could help in the big war... but if that was the case I don't see why she would've left But when she did left she sort of foreshadowed that she would be back, right?

She will come back. She knows that right now her position is too much at stake in Westeros and for the moment she left.

She will be back...her character is too much linked on the war against the White Walkers.
She went to Stannis because she thought he was the prince who was promised since the very beginning.

She doesn't even seem to much concerned about her possible demise to be honest. Must be because she's old already

She acts along what she seems in the flames.
Recently it seems like she got more humble after the mess she created with Stannis and his family.
At least she has learnt something.

She was much more confident in herself and her abilities back in the first seasons if you recall.
But yes, she even told Varys it's her fate to die on that strange country

You know she did horrible things overall, but she did it for a different motives than most people.
People are all over power in this show or love.
She's after what she thinks it's the will of a super-entity though.

When she spoke with Varys I could see they come from two very different positions to be honest.

Also, I think her magic will be useful to have around next season to be honest.

Well, if she shows up next season, I'll be curious to see how she will help out in the SL

So she's just confident in her power again? In season six that was very debatable. Perhaps she's looking for her inner strength over the Narrow Sea to be helpful later.

I think she's not confident in herself as before...She has even more faith in R'Hollor, though.

She will not be so self-confident and brag about it like before. After Stannis she changed that aspect of her self...and she's much more humble.

Considering she brought Jon Snow back when she was at her lowlest (she needed furs because she felt cold for the first time in years) she could have started pretty soon to gloat it around. And she didn't.

Let's just say she, in my opinion, is more humble now. She has learnt even her visions can fail, and are indeed tricky to understand.

Prophecies are bitches

She better. I think I like her a lot better like that. The cocky attitude really didn't suit her, I never really liked her while she was in Stannis' service.

I agree, she did represent that kind of blind faith that I do not approve of.

Not even the High Sparrow was similar to her to be honest.

Although maybe I should say that after all the Seven Gods are not scary like R'Hollor.

I mean, yeah, the High Sparrow was self entitled as well, and he managed to cause problems around...but yeah, he didn't burn people around because he thought their sacrifice would help his cause

A thing is to deal with the avarage zealots (Boo wine, sex and lies), another thing is to deal with people who think human sacrifices are cool.

Also, I'm not sure if it's called officially as Melisandre's theme, but even the soundtrack they used in her scenes is mostly unsetting. Like it's really dark stuff going on.

Yep.

I'm not sure I've paid attention to her theme before, I know Stannis' theme was always very ominous en sort of like independing doom, so not surprising if it's similar.

Yes and without her necklace her beauty in this case is only skin deep. The magical necklace seems to give her physical youth and beauty, but take it off and she reverts to her real self a Old Crone. That whole deception thing, doesn't seem to say much about that god's motives or ethics.
