The Real Northeners | [Free Folk] #1 "The freedom to make my own mistakes was all I ever wanted."

free folk | wildlings

"The freedom to make my own mistakes was all I ever wanted."

"They were born on the wrong side of the Wall. That doesn't make them monsters."

"We can learn to live with the Wildings or we can add them to the Army of the Dead. Whatever they are now, they're better than that."

"All men must die, Jon Snow. But first, we'll live."

"I want to fight for the side that fights for the living... Did I come to the right place?"

Of course. I got a bit emotional watching like Hardhome and them being part of Jon's army, so I felt it was needed.

They're so cool and the giants and their general attitude, except the Thenns, they can go fook off.

Nobody likes the Thenns!

I love Hardhome! It's such a great episode!! And having them siding with Jon was perfect!

Even the free folk can agree on that.

Hardhome, and then most of season 6 makes me so emotional because they've all come so far.

And they don't agree on many things

And we get to understand them better, because before that we only knew them as savages but turns out they were just trying to survive (in their own violent way)

Exactly. And I just love the moment Jon starts calling them the Free Folk instead of Wildlings. They're "wilder" because the southerners built a wall and kept them from resources, they did what they had to do to survive.

Yeah They are free, you see that they have their own rule just like everybody else, the problem is that they weren't allowed the same benefits that the southerners had so they had to do things differently.

And I just realize that I said the exact same thing as you should've just say, I agree

I just find them very interesting. Plus props to Mance for actually being able to get them to fight for the same cause, says a lot about him as a person and leader.

I liked Mance because he seemed to really be fighting for his people and not for the glory or anything like that.

Definitely. He just wanted his people to have a chance to live, and you could never blame him for that. Jon didn't.

Jon actually understood and respected him, maybe just not his way of doing things. But I think Jon learned with time that the Southerners didn't actually gave them a lot of chances to do things differently as nobody had ever cared about the Free Folk/Wildings before

Definitely. I think especially his time with Ygritte at first where she was just yelling at him about the wall helped him in a way.

Ygritte really was the one that had a big part in making him more open mind regarding the free folk

I miss her. But at least we still have Tormund who carries that same fire inside.
