The writing was soooo bad. It's hard to fathom how the episode was even made. It's hard to fathom why they would take one of the most iconic characters in television history and do this with her.

D&D knew how iconic Dany is and how much of a role model/sign of feminism she is for young girls and Emilia is wonderful...i will never ever get how much they destroyed her character...for nothing? for men being the ones on the throne? for showing that women are not capable to handle power or are only capable of having power if they get abused (see Sansa). what is their ****ing point???

That is clearly the messages being thrown out there. It's mind boggling, disgusting, and disappointing. Not to mention heartbreaking. If she does end up dying, if she must die, then can she at least die while being the woman she TRULY is? I don't get why that's so much to ask.

All the articles I have read have also been disappointed about the episode

yes that's at least something. there are of course still fans who enjoyed the episode but i feel like 8x04 is the most controversial episode ever and more than 50% of the reviews and fandom feels like season 8 ruined the show. this is actually also comforting me because it shows i am not alone with my disappointment.
