Nah, that's totally fine, but a woman being raped? That has never happened before.

this is the middle ages people, rape was very common, discussed in many episodes. This is how it sadly was back then. And the character she married, you knew it was coming.

personally I dont like to see this being done to her, but I think it just adds more to the reasons why I think she is going to become a force at the end.

I think it fits the characters, and it is stupid for people to be in uproar about it, its just a show, its not like its real life. no one got hurt in any scenes... this is not a kids show, nor is it meant for kids. If watching this impresses someone enough to follow these things, then there is thousands of worse movies they could be following.

Its just the political correct crowd out of control and over the top once again. If you dont like it, then dont watch its that simple. There is much worse moves, shows then this....

as these characters and plots evolve, there will be changes, you have real life people trying to play fictional characters, of course things will not be exact. If you read the books, why would you want to watch the same story over?? Cant you people just enjoy the new twists and turns they are putting out?

I think that maybe we are forgetting that LF always has an angle, is always plotting and can be extremely ruthless. Maybe he needs Sansa right where she is right now, no matter how cruel Ramsay may be to her. In LF's eyes, her short term pain may help his long term gain.
My statement about Littlefinger being unaware of Ramsay being a crazy psycho wasn't opinion or conjecture, but of fact. In a recently conducted interview with Entertainment Weekly, writer/producer Bryan Cogman said the following:
Quote:
The writer producer also confirmed that, for those suspecting Littlefinger might have known about Ramsay’s sadism, that Baelish was definitely ignorant of the situation. “The difference between the Ramsay Snow of the books and the show is the Ramsay of the show is not a famous psycho,” he said. “He’s not known everywhere as a psycho. So Littlefinger doesn’t have the intelligence on him. He knows they’re scary and creepy and not to be folly trusted and it’s part of a larger plan.”

^Thanks for that! I had no idea. I still find it hard to believe he didn't investigate further(LF of all people!)...but it is good to know what they intended!

------------------

I don't think that any of the violent acts on the show need to be made light of(including rape) simply because they are violent times and the acts happen frequently. That doesn't diminish how awful they are. I just want to clarify that all I was getting at earlier is that Sansa's experience doesn't make her 'weak' or belittle her. I've seen those words around quite a bit, and I think it is insulting to anyone who has found themselves in that situation. How she pulls herself together and shows her resilience will determine her strength, not what is done to her. Violence has been done to her, and it is terrible, but I don't see how it ruins her character in any way.

As far as Theon goes; of course what happened to him was awful and ugly. That is why we are being encouraged to feel sorry for him. I think the reaction to him was different than for Sansa because 1) similar events happened to Theon in the book, whereas Sansa hasn't been in this position in the book 2) Theon had done 'bad things' so he wasn't innocent(of course his actions didn't deserve torture and castration) the way Sansa is.

She didn't, actually. She only undid ties on her sleeves. Ramsay ripped her clothes apart. After telling her that he didn't like asking things a second time. (to remove her clothes, a threat)
It was rape.

I will say this though, the end part really IS the funny part of that whole "Dornishman's Wife" song if you look up how it goes.

Here are the lyrics.

Quote:
The Dornishman's wife was as fair as the sun
And her kisses were warmer than spring
But the Dornishman's blade was made of black steel
And its kiss was a terrible thing
The Dornishman's wife would sing as she bathed
In a voice that was sweet as a peach
But the Dornishman's blade had a song of its own
And a bite sharp and cold as a leech
As he lay on the ground with the darkness around
And the taste of his blood on his tongue
His brothers knelt by him and prayed him a prayer
And he smiled and he laughed and he sung
"Brothers, oh brothers, my days here are done
The Dornishman's taken my life
But what does it matter, for all men must die
And I've tasted the Dornishman's wife!

Personally I think its important for the show to actually show how tough women had it back then. People today have little idea of real history and how brutal our past has been.

I don't think that the wedding night will break Sansa.

I bet she's going to be just as strong, with a new hatred and drive to triumph over the people who took over her family's house.

I sort of agree to a point. You also have to consider that in the GOT universe what Ramsay did to Sansa wouldn't classify as rape, since technically under Westeros law and traditions a woman is "her husband's property" on their wedding night, if not overall after marriage. It's terrible to say it like that, yes, but I assume there's at least a kind of consistency they have to keep with things.

At the bare bones of it - I didn't think that Sansa being anywhere near the Boltons was necessary.

-Arya's storyline is too dark for me. Literally. I can barely see what's going on. But I liked the mention of The Hound. And that Arya didn't hate him.

-I'm so glad Olenna is back.

-Oh Cersei. So stupid. People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

-I felt bad for Jorah finding out about his father's death. And then all the jokes about his age (less painful, I'm sure).

-I like Trystane and Myrcella. I liked them in the books too.

-The actor who plays Bronn has a lovely singing voice. Fun fact, Jerome Flynn's was in a pop group in the 90's.

-Sansa/Theon/Ramsay Poor girl. If nothing else, the wedding scene and the aftermath were very well acted.

I disagree with most of the comments in here, I thought it was a great episode. Yes the Sansa rape was absolutely depressing but this is GOT, i am surprised we haven't had more rape scenes at this point.

I loved Sansa standing up herself in the episode, but I fear the ending will now affect her. I hope she can find a way to rise above everything and remain strong. UGH at Baelish for putting her in this situation and now he freaking gives her up to Cersei WHAT THE HELL. There better be a bigger plan here.

I LOVE THEON. I dont know why, but I do, and i feel horrible sad for him. Being forced to watch Sansa get raped was absolutely heartbreaking and you can tell the the true Theon is still in there. I think he is just doing all this to survive. He and Sansa need to band together and get out of there. ... But I know this will go on for a while. My heart just hurts. But its a good storyline.

Bronne and Jaime's storyline is a little lame but I still love them together. I also love the scenes between Jorah and Tyrion. They are fun together. But I want Tyrion to get to Dany already.

random sidenote: I miss Varys. And will we ever get more info on his storyline about the man that tortured him?

Cersei you are a bitch. And i dont get her ploy here, she is making a mistake causing an unecessary war. I swear if Margaery and Loras die from this dumb trial I am going to be so pissed! I am really freaking tired of seeing all my favorite characters get tortured and the bad guys constantly getting away with crap. We need far more deaths! Like where the heck is fray and why hasnt he been killed yet for what he did to Robb? Where the hell is greyjoy, he needs to be killed too. So many people they need to kill off and yet the likable characters have to suffer? It gets really hard to watch. I am lucky because I can binge but man, if i had to watch in real time it would absolutely suck.

I was really happy to see Olenna again. I just hope she doesnt lose her grandchildren.

Always always love Arya and her storylines. I love that we are seeing Jaqen again. I loved the mention of the hound and that she doesnt hate him. She's my favorite by far.
