the scene where they got reunited - of some sort- is my favorite scene of the finale!!!

That one epic scene made up for the lack of Dany this season. I was so surprised (did book fans know about this?), especially at seeing Rhaego. He was so cute. The only thing that could have possibly made the scene any better would have been her picking up the baby. But the scene was flawless, I'm just greedy.

i know what you mean and i thought "now...now...now she will pick her baby up". but i am glad she didn't because if she had, she could never leave i think. wow, can't even imagine how hard it must be for her to let him and her chield go..once again

the hole scene was damn sad and so beautiful at the same time...

No, this scene was 100% fan-pandering. For which we are very very grateful.

The HotU scene, in the book, is incredibly different. Drogo does not make an appearance, Dany sees all sorts of significant past & future visions, and learns of a prophecy that will be important for her. She also has a run-in with the Undying folks, since she's roaming around in, you know, the House of the Undying. For some as-yet unexplained reason, D&D chose to completely ignore all of it.

But as disappointed as I was with the rest of the scene, I did like that they brought Drogo back for this. Because it gave them a chance to say goodbye - - at least more-so of a goodbye than when Dany smothered veggie!Drogo with a pillow. And she got to see their son as he would have been, which was beautiful as well.

Seeing Drogo again totally made up for the steaming pile that was the rest of Dany's "adventure" in the House.

maybe for the non book-readers. i've heard in the book there were much confusing prophecies and all. maybe we non book-readers wouldn't have them understood
