Castle 4.04 - "Kick the Ballistics"

Episode Summary
While investigating the mysterious shooting death of a young woman, Castle and Beckett face a cop's worst nightmare when they discover that the gun used in the killing is Det. Ryan's old service weapon - the one that was stolen by the serial killer, 3XK. Now with the clock ticking, the team must work to solve the murder, track down 3XK and retrieve Ryan's gun before the killer strikes again.

Best episode this season IMO! Great case to work on and Seamus really kicked his performance up a notch!! Everyone was supporting HIM this week and they all did it beautifully. Kudos to the entire cast and crew (minus the captain who is still being a total ass.

)

Fav scene was Martha and Rick talking about 3XK toward the beginning of the show. I LOVE that he is confiding in her more and more. They're so much fun to watch play off each other.

Seamus was incredible tonight, it was a fantastic performance. The rest of the cast were playing off him so well too. When he leaned over the table to talk to Philip he really showed just how angry Ryan was feeling. I'm so glad he got given this chance to show how good he really is.

I'm so glad we got to see him and Beckett talk more, usually we don't see that as much but it's nice to see their friendship there too, and how much she cares for him.

I liked that the Gates didn't jump in this week expecting them to have caught the killer immediately. That was a little nicer to watch.

And I loved that Castle's fears over not being an actual cop were allayed by Beckett at the end telling him he was thinking like a real cop. I think he really needed to hear that, and coming from her, who'd inadvertently made him doubt himself earlier, (the 'it's a cop thing line') made it even better.

It was a great episode, would have loved more Castle and Beckett moments but the case was interesting and it was definitely a great episode for Ryan.

Same here. The storyline was excellent and Ryan was AMAZING. I would've liked to see more Caskett too but it's great that we got to see so much about Ryan.
