I know we haven't gotten their backstory but the more I watch their scenes the more I'm convinced that these two could have possibly had a thing early on in their career that just didn't work out but rather than being bitter exes they became the best of friends and it then developed into a brother/sister kind of relationship.

Yup! She has done from day 1 when Espo teased her about Castle.

That he did. He knew Castle was the right guy for Beckett even 6 years ago. I mean come on these two definately had something going on when they were rookies.

Jon has even stated his own ideas in that regard and believes it too.

How could they not have when there is definately some kind of chem there?
